    These pics should be shown in schools so the current batch of little darlings know how easy they have it.

      A rather sweeping statement!
      Child rape (both sexes), abject poverty, child labour, etc., etc., is just as prevalent today as it was in the past with these photos.
      ''The little darlings'' of which you speak are probably offspring of well-off working class parents, or middle class, and so on.
      Disclaimer: There's no guarantee that even these ''little darlings'' are not undergoing abuses from their 'wealthy' parents.

      @@martindunstan8043I have taken my daughter, now 24, through a few community museums and shown her things I saw when growing up, where I grew up in the bush and through the war memorial in Canberra. When she saw what our troops went through she was horrified, then she saw my photo in a nasty place overseas, that's when the tears started. She never knew.

      It's the parents who give their children everything but ask very little of their children, in the way of responsibilities, who are to blame.

    What a great selection of pictures. The high-rise construction shots made me squirm - those men were fearless. I loved the detail of the hand-stitched sail. Something about those two ragged little girls (England 1941 at 7.25) was immensely sad. Both of them could still be alive today, aged in their 80s. I hope life got better for them.

    Your photos always make my day! Each posting seems to be more amazing than the previous one... Do you have an idea of what the alignment of men (with no sex appeal :-) in briefs was?? The most ''puzzling'', and also heart-breaking, to me was the ''hangover'' homeless, and maybe especially heart-breaking because they had to pay to be ''allowed to'' hang over a rope, for lack of space I suppose... And the new father of three: I'd love to know if he fainted for real or if it was a funny acting (seems real though). Have a nice day and good luck with your quest for finding more fascinating photos!

    • @AmazingHistoricalPhotos
      @AmazingHistoricalPhotos  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't know the story behind the sex appeal briefs but I found it a nice mix of funny and disturbing ....lol Likewise, not sure if the father fainting was staged or not. If it were me in that situation I would have fainted ... and never recovered !

      Some say they are too long, some say they are too short. Unfortunately, it is impossible to please everyone. However, the best solution that most people have found is just to hit pause on whatever device you are using, then hit play when you are ready. That way you can take as long as you like. I actually do the same thing when I'm editing & proof reading. Hope this helps.

    Wonderful! But I saw a mistake. There was no way a cash register only went up to a maximum sale of $9.99. I worked one of those old 1898 relics in Dawson City in 1975 when I worked at the old General Store. They went up to $999.99. They have 3 tabs popping up in front of the decimal point. Since stores have always catered to the people who will make them the most money, why would they set the bar so low? > Ridiculous.
