so doing this will not cause anything wrong to the car or harm it i can drive it normally? another question is will it for-sure make it pop ?
This will make your car run rich. That is safer than running it lean. Also, if you have an aftermarket exhaust, then this truck should get you your pops and bangs after hard acceleration. If you have a stock exhaust, you probably won’t notice a difference…
awesome i already have a aftermarket exhaust & headers . Going to get the plug wednesday shipped out
Shweet
i have a 2004 civic lx coupe will my sensor be on the headers ? instead on the bottom , i checked there’s nothing but the headers
You should still have two different sensors. Remove whichever sensor that is FARTHER down the exhaust pipe.
Poor man’s Donut Media, I love it keep it up
Hell yeah bröther 😂 we don’t even try to hide our love for those guys!
Subscribed just cause of this comment... Am a poor man lol
@geekplaza6689 join the club! 😂😂
😂
The car explosion is epic 😂😂😂😂😂
💪💪 only the best intros for y’all
Super under rated TH-camrs!!!
Thank you so much man!!
I’m all of the cars I’ve owned I’ve never had an o2 sensor work right, and every single one of them ran better
Lol it’s a common issue. A car companies way to keep most people coming back to the dealership.
I love the intro 🔥
Thanks chief 😂💪
You guys are just likeable enough to be the new haggard garage. More cheap content!
Thanks man! We really appreciate that! 💪💪
I have no cat, no resonator, no muffler- also no lower O2 Sensor plugged in.. it pops at 3500-4000 rpm.. 2002 Honda Civic Lx is my car.. also, had a chop shop replace the entire exhaust pipe with a 3” pipe, ran the same route as the stock pipe would..
Oh hell yeah bro! You should pare that with some of the headers that we have on ours 👀
or you could increase your exhaust flow that would decrease your exhaust tempurature
We got something commin in the mail to help out with that 👀
Imma try this with my 2020 Honda wish me luck can I just put any bolt that would fit
I mean yeah… but a newer car is going to have a much less desirable reaction since they rely a lot more on all the sensors in the car 😬 probably not the move. Plus, for newer cars there are a lot of simple obd2 tuning options for real pop tunes…
I laughed so hard at the intro
😘 we gochu king 👑
so i still have the full exhaust setup but no muffler it is a auto. do you think this will still make it pop at all? or even gargle at all?
Maybe if you manually control the shifting…
Hey man, question you know where I can grab the mud guards you have on the em2
eBay! That’s where we got ours.
Yea ! 🔥 I only have 1 cat left on my 09 corolla soon to take it off but I need a defouler to not get check engine light !!
Yeah. 90 degree defoulers have worked best for us in the past.
@@gridengine hmm sounds interesting! Yea slowly working on it !
Love to see folks working on their own cars (and deleting cats) 😂😂
@@gridengine yes and hear me out it all started bc I use to live in California and those cat stealing mfks got my cat and resenator next day I start my corolla up sounds like a darn truck 😂 so had to fix it the cheap way by welding some pipes on her and now have me idea bc it pops and bangs but I want to fill send it with flames 😭
DO IT. also cali can lick our butthole 🥵
I own a civic 1997 hatchbqck. Is it okay if I remove the 02 sensor close to the the manifold? And what if I replace it with a spark plug too?
Don’t remove the o2 sensor closest to the manifold. That will make your engine run like shit. Also, if you wanted a spark plug in your exhaust to ignite fuel or fumes, you would need a way to turn it on and off…
Would an o2 sensor spacer work instead of unplugging it?
Or would it still get too warm?
It would still get too warm. The idea is to remove the sensor completely from the floor of exhaust.
Lol that’s how mine is. I have a 98 Honda civic no Rea no muff just pipe and cat. It doesn’t pop hella loud but it’s there sounds more gargly. How would I make it more consistent?
Only way to make pops louder in your case would probably be to get a test pipe and delete the cat… it’ll be HELLA loud tho 😂
My civic coupe has one o2 sensor unplugged and it had an eml...went off after a couple months and hasnt come back since 🤷♂️
I guess it just learned to live with it 😬😂
do i need to like clear the cat or itll work wih the cat on
It helps to not have a cat… but you didn’t hear that from us…
Why not wire a cutoff switch to the o2 power wire?can have popcorn on demand that way
We needed the o2 sensor to sense cold air. If we disconnected it, it wouldn’t read anything and we weren’t 100% sure if that would net us the same results…
@@gridengine o2 sensor didn't mesure temp lol its just mesuring oxygen level in exaust gasses thats all! If here is to much oxygen ECU will adjust fuel ratio to correct this unfinished burning
@razor6031tv Correct. Simon misspoke when he said the o2 sensor measured temperature… however the outcome still stands: the o2 sensor getting ambient air oxygen levels will cause the engine to run rich as well.
could you hook up a switch to the o2 sensor to turn it off and on?
That was our original plan!! But then we realized that disconnecting it all together wouldn’t necessarily do the same thing for the fuel mixture as having that O2 sensor read ambient outside temperatures. 😕😕
@@gridengine thank you for that information 👍
I was planning on doing this and I was just wondering, love the channel btw!!
No problem g! And thank you!
What about switching to ignition cur spark, flood exhaust
@RedCapMusik that’s an interesting idea!
would it still pop and bang disconnecting the O2 sensor if the car is a automatic?
Probably not unfortunately 😕😕 the autos don’t really work for this trick.
@@gridengine ohh okay, what about for a car that has an automatic and manual or would this trick only work for manuals only?
Where you buy the o2 sensor plug ?
At the link in the description 💪
my car is already running abit lean due to a cold air intake, would this kinda counter it out abit lol
Probably not 😂 but most ecu’s have enough flexibility to handle an intake without needing a tune.
could i do this with my 02 honda accord 2.3 ? i have no resonator n no muffler tho. but i am getting a DC muffler exhaust. what u think ?
You certainly could! But if it’s a daily, it’s probably not a good idea to leave it this way for too long.
@@gridenginecan you recommend any parts for a daily m?
@stepbrohexi2240 eBay intake and exhaust! th-cam.com/video/OdYMqc8YRSQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=j9NserlGqgbG0mMN
th-cam.com/video/_rCgRvi4sBM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0UsAYvhSCB2u4VT4
anything to look out for when running rich?
It won’t run rich enough because of this to cause any harm. Plus, it’s ALWAYS safer to run an engine rich than lean.
@@gridengine thank you
Just bought ill lyk how it goes in my 2005 ex coupe
Hell yeah 💪💪
Does that work with automatic was well
It should, but you might have to go through the gears manually
If I put the plug in and disconnect the 02 sensor, it’ll give. Me a check engine light of course,
But if I plug it back in.. will it go away or I’d have to use a a scanner (which I have) to clear the code and it won’t come back right ?
It might go away after a while, but clearing it will speed the process up.
@@gridengine fo sho, lets have some fun! haha
@againslayer yezzir
you don't need to disconnect o2 sensor if you have straight pipe or catless exuast. If you cat don't work efficent you will get cheek engine light about him and ECU will adjust fuel ratio by the same way as in the movie. and NO! o2 sensor didn't mesure temp! its only cheecking oxygen levels in exaust gases to adjust fuel ratio correcting burning fuel in the engine
Correct. A high enough flow of exhaust will cause come pops as well. Also, yes Simon misspoke when he said the o2 sensor measured temperature… however the outcome still stands: the o2 sensor getting ambient air oxygen levels will cause the engine to run rich as well.
My cars so old it has one cat and its straight piped and yes the 02 sensor still technically works depending on where its located like mine used to be before the cat on the downpipe
@keelanfoley3921 we ball 💪
I use a 7/8 because freedom 😂😂
😂😂😂
so what does that plug u ordered exacty do and why is it needed?
The plug just makes sure that the exhaust does just blow out the hole for the o2 sensor. That will sound awful and fill the car with fumes.
@@gridengine ok thats what i figured but in the vid it seemed like it did something else as well, what else can u use if u dont wanna order the plug?
You might be able to find a bolt that will fit and cut it down… but the plug will probably be cheaper.
What about cars that don’t have a O2 sensor I have a 93 civic, what do you recommend?
For those you will most likely need a tune of some sort. 😕😕
Can you do the same to the upstream sensor or would that be bad?
Don’t do the upstream sensor. That will cause major issues 😂
@@gridengine I finally was able to do what you guys did, haven't noticed too much of a difference. I have an automatic so would that more difficult for me achieve these sounds?
@Harkridgee unfortunately yes. Not having the ability to control the shifts will make it much harder to achieve the pops
@ArtificalCloud a tune 😬
@ArtificalCloud hop on Google and check your local area for tuners that work with Hondas. Get in touch with one of them and they can probably tell you what you need to do.
So I’m gonna be running dc sports headers with a skunk2 catback, no test pipe, you think it will still pop and whatnot?
Maybe… recently we’ve been hearing from others in the comments that if you have performance headers, this o2 sensor trick won’t for for you. However, with that exhaust set up, there’s a good chance that you will get pops and bangs without missing with your O2 sensors!
@@gridengine yeah I’ve got a problem though, no test pipe, so there’s nowhere to put the second o2 sensor 😂, also I have no welding knowledge or a welding machine so I can’t weld a bung into the pipe
@joeyvanjura1860 so you have a stock catalytic converter?
@@gridengine nope, headers are just gonna bolt straight to the catback
@joeyvanjura1860 but the long tube headers don’t have a second o2 bung?? That seems odd that skunk 2 would have an oversight like that… I guess you’re gonna HAVE to just remove, or zip tie up your downstream o2 sensor lol
How long did it take to have an effect? My 04 i have a dc sports d17a2 header, eccpp catless down pipe, Invidia cat back. Never had a port for the downstream o2 so just took it off the harness. Saw your video wanted to try it. So did the same, but still no pop or anything after 60 miles. And i dont granny drive this car ever haha
That’s odd… do you have an intake on the car?
@gridengine yea 2 peice ebay, took the lower end off because I almost hydro locked it a year or two ago, ironically I reset my CEL once I did the down stream o2 mod (again I was shooting a CEL because it wasn't installed at all) and my CEL hasn't come back on haha, but I've been contemplating on trying out an idea of unplugging my upper. When I leave from work and I start driving out of the city it'll kind of crackle (bubble) but only till car is warmed up. (It did this before and after the lower o2 being re installed to the harness). So idk. If I cant get it to do this it is what it is. Just thought it would be a cool cheap mod
@kevinmckeag1983 ours burbled more while warming up as well. It could be your headers too… ours stopped working after we got performance headers…
@gridengine wish I could show photos, my DC isn't too far off from oem size and design. Idk it's whatever. Could be too that you're probably still runing your hollow cat down pipe, where it's what... 1.75"? I can't remember where from header back it's 2.5"
@gridengine oh if you ever try both o2 sensors out let me know I want to see the video lol
Why you didn't remove sensor's plug instead of removing the sensor and replaced it by bolt
If you unplug the sensor, you won’t get the desired result of “pops and bangs” because the car won’t be getting a reading from the sensor. If you leave it plugged in and it is in the open air, the car will think the exhaust is too cold and will add fuel to heat it back up, therefore giving you pops and bangs.
Fuel consumption will increased by how if it was 12L/ 100 km
The ECU will attempt to make the exhaust hotter by adding fuel so that the second O2 sensor will pick up the heat readings it is supposed to. But because it is outside of the exhaust pipe, we essentially tricked it…
I have 1 o2 sensor in headers
I made your idea today but unfortunately it didn't made pops
Your car should have 2 different o2 sensors. If you removed the one in your headers, you might damage your car. Only remove the DOWNSTREAM o2 sensor that is farther down the pipe (like we did). Also, if you do not have a modified exhaust, you might not be able to hear the pops…
Just straight pipe your car if you want it to pop and crackle auto or manual it should pop
Our car is basically straight piped, but we did notice an increase in crackle with this mod.
@@gridengine how is it straight piped when you still have the cat.
How do make it pop in a automatic?
If you take a look at this vid here, you’ll see what kind of cat we have 💪💪 th-cam.com/video/WdtNpz0zgaQ/w-d-xo.html
If you have an automatic, you might be SOL without a real tune…
Think this will fit my 2000 honda civic lx d16y7?
It fits any Honda o2 sensor bung. 💪💪
@@gridengineso you guys just unpluged the o2 sensor, plugged o2 and hanged the actual o2 sensor?
@@gridengine would this effect the car in anyway? Can i just replug the o2 sensor back in and still run normally?
We left the O2 sensor plugged in, but just removed it from the exhaust pipe. That way it’s sensing cold ambient air, which should make it pop and bang ideally. And yes, if if you put the O2 sensor back in, the car will run normally again.
So is a k swap in the future?
We’ve been thinking about possible swaps… but haven’t decided on anything yet 🤔
@@gridengine K Swap should be easy on this platform since its shared with the RSX, dont take my word for it tho
Yeah most Honda engines are almost plug and play. We will have to look into it!
Hey man I have a es1 I am putting a 2016 type r motor into it ! I hope you guys see this lol
That is SICK dude!! That thing is going to spin tires in 1st-3rd gear!!
@@gridengine hell yeah it is!! Thank you!! I’m so stoked I’m just figuring out which subframe I need I’ve heard that the stock one works but idk lol
Let us know!
Bad idea to run without the plug ?
Depends on how much you care about your car 😂
Won’t I fail emissions if my cats are off ? I know if you have a check engine I just don’t know if no cats can fail emissions . It won’t matter to me until next year so I just order this shit this weekend I will put it on
You will probably fail emissions if you do this, but because it’s such a simple install, and you leave the O2 sensor, zip tied to the car. Whenever you have to do emissions, just reinstall the O2 sensor.
What if i just unplug it from the wiring harness😂
That might do the trick!
You guys probably won’t see this but I just tried this on my 04 ex, it has eBay headers, dna cat back and a hollowed cat and it doesn’t pop or bang, trying to get it to pop and crackle I know the 7th gen isn’t hondata compatible, my g5 pops and bangs with just a res and muffler delete my civic didn’t
Yeah we’ve been figuring out that if you have performance headers, the burble does not work. We did it with Stock headers, and it worked fairly well.
@@gridengine I have aftermarket eBay headers I did hear one pop after a 2nd gear shift but haven’t since
Yeah high flow headers kinda ruin the fun for this mod 😕
@@gridengine probably anything high flow does lol, if you figure anything else out that works make a video, love watching the videos just got a 2004 civic ex and been doing a good bit of mods to it getting it to pop and crackle is one I’m looking for 😂
@fullthrottlefilms8950 hell yeah man! Best way to get what you want is a real tune, but those can be expensive… 😬😬
I was wondering why my Celica pops bangs on 3k rpm with 1-3% throttle, now i know, its cuz my 2nd sensor is dead :) also i have Cat light saying my cat is dead
Start with the sensor. Cats are expensive!
@@gridengine i mean i changed first sensor cause i think it the only sensor that can affect air/fuel ratio will see if 2nd does anything or its only for detecting bad cat
2nd is usually only for detecting cat efficiency. Do you have any codes? It could be a different sensor.
This have this mod running?
Yeah. But we are gonna change it back soon because it doesn’t pop anymore with our new headers.
@@gridengine what headers did you have before?
We just had the stock headers.
I have a feeling this will not work in my 94 OBD1 car
It might!
Removing the 02 doesn’t do jack . Mine are ripped out and the car just runs rich . Slammed car things
lol 😂
Why do I hear no else doin this
Trade secret 💀
My car does that without that 😅
LUCKY!
@@gridengine I think i have a exhaust leak or im running to rich
An exhaust leak before the rear o2 sensor with a stock exhaust system would probably make your car run lean if anything, because the downstream o2 sensor would be reading not enough exhaust. It’s gotta be something else 🤔
@@gridengine well it's a stock exhaust until past the cat you know any way to check for that also if it is something else I would have no clue what it would be my car has no cel and runs good
If you’re getting crackles and pops, that means that your car is most likely running rich. Therefore, if you had an exhaust leak at any point in your exhaust, you would be able to see a black suit trail coming from the leaky spot.
Ultimate fart machine
CORRECT 💩
Yoooo
💪💪
@@gridengine didnt know that would happen if you unplugged the o2
Crazy huh? 😂
Intro made me 🤣
😂😂
Eeeenh wrong... Lol rear O2 has zero to do with fueling and only monitors catalyst efficiency
Bet
But it read air, doesn’t it. Wouldn’t that have something to do with the air to fuel ratio
Correct. If it senses a “lean” condition (not enough heat after the cat), it will tell the ecu to add fuel to bring the temps up.
It's called a tune, lol, and it only cost 150 bucks to properly have it installed.
What kind of a tune are you getting for $150?? 😂😂
From a tuner that tunes my vehicle 💁🏽
Ah yes of course. Very descriptive and helpful 😂 90% sure that any tuner that charges $150 is doing just as much, if not more damage to your engine than removing an o2 sensor 🥵
Great observation 👍🏽
Wait a minute… that sounds a little bit like one of those “I have a buddy with a laptop that can do it cheaper” type beats 😂
i mean i can jus turn mine off wit ktuner
Lucky
Will the engine light go away if i plug the sensor back?
Yes
l
WE
I did this but guess what I had to do, yup thats right take off both Top also bottom air flow O2 sensors when I did this it sounds like a Old car Loud annoying noise.I just put the sensor back on didn’t plug them up, still loud old noise, plugged the higher O2 in when going up my driveway the car slips gears going reving really high not going anywhere….so moral to the story D O N O T listen to anyone on TH-cam with stupid intentions.also my check engine light is now on even though I Put the O2 sensors back on n plugged everything on still slipping.I didn’t even get one pop out of doing this My car just sounds annoying n Old ass hell.I guess I need to stop before I mess something up that I can’t undo because of scams on TH-cam do not listen to anybody it’s all just for more views.
My guy… first off, you have to plug the holes so you don’t have to listen to the exhaust leaks… secondly, removing both o2 sensors is a horrible idea. The upstream o2 sensor is detrimental to the healthy operation of the engine and that’s why your car was revving super high. That’s why we only removed the downstream sensor. Lastly, you will need to clear the check engine light with a scanner now that your o2 sensors are back in… that light will stay on until you clear the codes.
@@gridengine I just did all that Zip tied the O2 sensor put the up stream sensor back on I just gotta tap off the Exhaust port also clear the light again.Well either way I’m in trouble with my wife about everything.thanks a lot.I just need a strong drink to end tonight.
Update Autozone doesn’t seem to sell aftermarket blunges for the O2 sensor bypass so What I did was Go to the nearest hardware store, got me some 14mm to 1 inch Flexible Hose with wich I had to get a block off port so I also picked up Some Pipe primer (purple ) with Pipe glue (Blue) Let it sit all night last night so I can install it today,I also Had purchased a OB2 Scanner recently on offer up to Erase the code I had 6/6 By last night as well As no codes Today after the erase. I appreciate the advice I was Lost about the process but ended up sounding really good just like 2 step I got popcorn every light,on the high way in traffic I Sound like a M4 with burbles I love it also My wife Is not mad at me any more! ☺️
@itstinyverdugo2571 lol sorry g. Sounds like you’re going through it 😂 pour one out for us!
@itstinyverdugo2571 ayo? Our man went full home improvement on it! 💪💪 hell yeah dude!
Slow cars run a pop tune because they are slow and desperate for attention.
That’s fax. Why you think we have the Cummins exhaust tip?? 😂
@@gridengine Lol, hopefully you'll grow out of it....
In order to do that (based on your definition provide above), we would need to own fast cars. And that probably won’t happen for a long time 😂😂

Correct 😘
that intro was cringe af lol, are you guys showing this to kids with razor kid cars or grown ups ? lmao
Welcome to the cringe homie 👌 we’re just getting started 🤮
@@gridengine yeah sure but just be yourselves that’s the most important thing, so many youtubers fake acting lol.
