This sounds like the head start programs we do for some at risk turtle species. The eggs are incubated and the hatchlings are kept for one year. The single year leads then to gain weight, their shell can harden and they’re not a bite size snack anymore. Even just that one year makes a huge difference to numbers reaching sexual maturity. Love this idea!
Would that not be a bad thing as future generations have a heightened chance to develop defects? I only know that in most animals it is generally bad when they mate with their own genetic sisters and brothers but I don't know if this Lobster species is included in that.

Akna, goddess of motherhood and childbirth
This channel is so fascinating!! I have learned and enjoyed it so much! Thank you for sharing this!
We can name her Lunch and Dinner! Ok that's just wrong. How about Diane?
We had a program here in my Hometown of Pictou Nova Scotia. They done it for 6 or7 years
We were releasing 2 to 300000 stage 4 larve. Back into the water.
It hasn't been done probably in 5 or 6 years now. But a couple years though we started seeing huge increases in our stock numbers and it seemed to have helped big time.
I’m glad this program has been successful! Hopefully the new system works well!
Lobster should be named " Bertha " obviously, hahaha.
That sounds like a pretty awesome program. Started watching on just your claw spa shorts. Your videos are informative and a great watch
Great segment real interesting hope we get to see the young
YESSS, I CAN'T WAIT TILE TYE UPDATES ❤

Padstow, Cornwall in the UK has a large lobster re-introduction program which has been running for a number of years and I believe is extremely successful. Good luck Clawdia 👍
Your channel is awesome ✌🏻😎
I miss the videos of them getting their notch and their snack. I loved watching them get a snack.
Shelly May
11:13 look at her. She’s like “I a big, scawy monster”
You are doing a great thing, giving hope to a species to bring them back to flourishing. So why not name the lobster "Hope"!!!!
I love lobster, but I will never eat another one having learned how tough it is for them to survive. I like these videos, always learning something!
Should be a homestead program that let's everybody grow lobster and crabs and other species to make a better future for all and a tax right off releasing program
Awsome program. Look forward to watching the progress. New Zealand 🇳🇿 xxx
So cool! I am interested in seeing the updates on her and the babies. Since it is mother's day and she was the goodness of love and fertility, I say you name her Venus 💙💜💚
Jacob that study reminds me of my childhood. They use to have a lobster hatchery on Marthas Vineyard. Where they would raise, and cross breed by color. I use to frequently visit it.The life of a lobster is totally different the what people think.
Clawdette!
Queen Atlantia. This was an awesome video. Thank you for sharing and I cannot wait for updates. I am lucky number 987. This has been an awesome Mother's Day so far. Hugs from Esquimalt
How about “May” ? Mother May I ? Shelly May ? Moma May ?
very cool!!! and informative! thanks Jacob and crew! also being a reptile nerd i deal with this often, they dont become "agressive" the become more "DEFENSIVE" agression would be them seeking you out to attack. These animals however are just protecting themselves and their young which is defensivness. anyway much love and awesome work!!
