Hi From Rhode Island 🏝. Those crabs 🦀 are money here , the retail seafood markets can’t get enough , big buyer in Point Judith , of the boat sale is always hot . Stay safe Guys 😊
I was just thinking the same thing. They'd help control the crab population in addition to diversifying their serviceable market. They'd just be helping their future selves.
I confess…I have lived west of the Rocky Mountains (or in them) for 90% of my 53 years. I have never had a Maine lobster (Maine is one of the 48/50 states I have not visited). When I was young, I would go to the Oregon coast and throw a couple of crab pots into the bays and catch our legal limit of Dungeness crabs for supper. They are sweet and amazing. Now that I think about it, I still have one still frozen from last season. I should probably make some crab chowder out of it.
Dungeness crabs are the BEST OF ALL BREEDS!! I cook on Red crab boats in Alaska. I'd pick Dungees over King crab any day of the week. 2nd fav is Blue crab from the east coast. I love them when their shells are soft. Dipped in egg wash, and flour and cook then on top of the stove in butter and they taste so great you will have a hard time to stop eating 'em
@@susanmartin3762Blue Crab is the best we used to get them all the time but the prices are insane nowadays. We catch about a bushel when we go to Oak Island every year
Start your own crab canning company. You could offer both fresh and canned crab. For variety, you could can the crab meat with different sauces. I can see it now; Knowles National Crab Company. The company motto: "No One Knows Crabs Like Knowles".😋
It would be smart for them to catch and sell those crabs, because they could try to clear out the crab population to alllow the lobsters space to return.
Uhhh...I want to officially find out how Canned Horn Dogs would turn out...wonder if those are tasty or not. But yeah...I would consider buying crabblers from these guys.
You should definitely reserve some space for crabs on the boat, and on days with a low yield of lobsters you can start filling it up the extra space with crabs during the second half of traps.
@@RoseNZieg lol, people saying they would buy, without knowing the price, which will be higher than they expect, is NOT a market. If those people would order crab, they would be doing so from others who already ship many different types of crabs.
