    The crazy thing is me and my friends were on the 1 train before the accident we saw the out of service 1 train at 79th st getting checked over we all get home and find out this happened.

    I was just on the 1 train the other day before that happened. That shit was crazy and NTSB were coming in deadass serious.

    I can’t imagine how horrifying it would be if the train was right where the 1 train would be over the 2 and 3 trains

      @jess.hawkins ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I was thinking the same thing. The 2 and 3 go below the 1 tracks after diverging at that station don't they?

    Update: saw interview of one of the drivers and got my bearings corrected:
    (not sure of track numbers so using A/B).
    Service train headed north passed red light on track A at/before 96th street
    Passenger train leaves 96th heading north on B track but is switched to A track.
    Service train proceeds into side of passenger train at the switch. Sparks fly.
    The lookout guy in car 1 of service train (dead car) says he radioed to the guy in car 6 (who operated train blindly) and told him to stop, but the guy in 6th car didn't stop.
    So this explains all the bouhaha north of 96th street. (had initially though the collision had happened south of it, so was confused).

    Trying to get my bearings. This was shot from a southbound train coming from 103th to 96th and that includes the "fly under" of the 2-3 lines that join prior to arriving at 96th, correct?
    How come a damaged train is protruding north of 96th street station? was it pushed north by the crash? If the collision happened in its behind, curious why they would need to do work in the front of the train.

      the train collided with another train on the switch. in this video the train was still derailed and they were working to put it back on the tracks.
