    watching this operation makes me realize how hard it must've been to re rail the 1 train in the confined space of the subway tunnel, especially without the use of a crane like the one they used on the elevated also looks like they have some work to do to rebuild the catwalk

      @@richiebee1984well it wasn’t just rerailing the train, but actually making repair on the train. trucks were delivered and they had to replace trucks in the tunnel.

      I kinda figured that I'm familiar with the airbags we have them on my ladder truck that I worked on just didn't imagine they'd be strong enough to lift a 80,000 lb train@@richiebee1984

    That’s some serious lifting of the derailed F train. Most of the F trains terminated at Avenue X in Gravesend.

      Say what.....West 8th and Stillwell are F stops I grew up with. Only during the end of rush hour do the "some" F's get diverted into the yard.

      @@Zizazap23 I mostly get off at Avenue X because I go to a bowling alley over there, but when it hits the Coney Island yard, it goes into the next stop at Neptune Avenue, that’s where the incident began.

    A subway car weighing 85,200 pounds needs a heavy duty crane. I enjoyed watching this. Whoever posted this video made my day. Thank goodness the catwalk prevented what could of being a disaster.

    The recent derailments is what made the start of this year 2024 sour and rough. I’m glad to see that the MTA has come to terms towards ensuring that everything, including their resources, is under control

    I'm so glad I was over at Pitkin Yard today and not at Coney Island Yard. I'm a TSS, and I would have definitely been called in early to help deal with this mess. Thank God the crew and passengers are safe.

      Mta need to remove Dispatchers , ATDs Tower operators that wanna be listening to radios and music all loud , get upset when they need to do their job instead of playing spades/ cards while on duty . I’m gonna be such a whistle blower tired of TOs and train crews getting blamed for everything . These superintendent and line superintendent’s better be on their best behavior I’m gonna start a channel exposing all that I see.

    I’m really surprised they didn’t separate the carriages and move them away even if only a little way. Make it easier to do the single without the others attached or have they and I just can’t see it?

    Dude this is hella weird, two derailments in a week is NOT NORMAL. Someone has some massive explaining to do because the MTA does track work daily, and this is mad weird. Be careful riding that subway, the bus might be a better option ngl

      In this case it appears that the fault was with the running gear on the train not the track itself. The MTA does inspect tracks regularly to keep them in good condition and derailments in passenger service are not a frequent occurrence. The other derailment on the 1 line was due to operational errors not any fault of the track either.
