I'm actually gonna miss riding the R46s when I'd take a trip to New York. They were so enjoyable looking out the window while riding over Jamaica Bay. I even rode an R46 without pants 7 years ago when they ran on the R.
I’ll try my best to catch them. I work during late nights and these moves happen usually later than 7pm. And the scrap moves on the south Brooklyn railway happen super late in the night
There was an actual F train directly behind this train. The scrap train held up the A, F and G At multiple points during it’s journey from Pitkin Yard to Coney Island Yard After I stopped chasing it because of the extreme cold and me being satisfied with my multiple videos My D train cut infront of it and at 9th Avenue the train sat for 30 minutes with it holding up D trains. I head it on the radio and the dispatchers were not happy to say the least
It will definitely be a while for the R62S R62AS R68S R68AS to get scrapped. However they are definitely gonna keep some R46S on the open cut I tell y'all that right now
Yeah. They some of em are being held on by tape. This was the very first one You can still find them on the following lines A train C Train H train/Rockaway Shuttle (more on this in a future video) N Train Q Train W Train I definitely recommend getting your videos while many are still in service
@keitho.sylvan1137 Okay Then And When Exactly Will The R46 Subway Cars Go On The Retirement Run Anyways If I May Ask You The Question About That Keith Sylvan Thank You Very Much And You?!:-\
I am at a stage where I will use the subway less and less, and there will be less and less incentive to use it. When it finally becomes all that NTT garbage - and it is garbage - I will not be using the subway at all. I won't need to. The subway as I grew up with it is finished. It's not about service, it's about glamor projects and other cosmetic bullshit to make political hay - but not about service. The hack railfans can run around all they want with their cameras to get precious photos of this junk, but my interest in what happens henceforth is gone. I have watched the devolution of the subway for over 70 years in the name of "progress." This is it. It cannot sink any lower with the quality of what they purchase. Done. Finished.
@Crrc_1900s they are old. Like the 32s , 42s and pretty much any subway car most will get scrapped and if you are lucky a set will get preserved or given a second usage
Get all these r62s, r68s and r46s out of here like we are so far behind with these 70s cars it's crazy!! Get rid of them, all of them by the end of the year 2025, bring in the new tech cars on all line Q,W,N,B,D
