InnovationYGO Right now my only viable deck is Domain Monarchs but I've seen how people can get, especially if they're running meta. I might bring my fiance when she's free though.
@@RogueHero I'm inspired to play Yu-Gi-Oh I found my cards back from 2002 been watching all these different videos and that's a really good advice you gave thanks
Watching this makes me remember the first time i tried to enter the locals. My stupid young self doesn't know there is a freaking banlist thus making me unable to join
Thank you for this video. Going to my first local tomorrow. I’ve only ever played with friends at school before. I was the best at school, but was still often reminded that I’d be destroyed in tournaments. I am especially great full for the tip about card theft, thank you, I know for a fact I would have been robbed without that.
InnovationYGO I have a question. I want to enter a Yu-Gi-Oh Day tournament next week. But I need to ask this: Along with the starter deck, will I be given card sleeves as well? I ask because I don't have a lot of card sleeves.
Excellent, video, man. As someone who is a veteran player, a part of me wished I had these tips when I first started. But then again, I was ten years old. As an addendum, I actually recommend newer players actually bring something to eat. You could bring chips, but I recommend fruit or an energy bar. More so the former. Not only is it healthy, but it will hold you. YuGiOh or any TCG is a thinking related game. As such you will burn a lot more energy when doing it. Also, another tip if you are new to locals, go say hi to everyone. Introduce yourself. YuGiOh, has a social element at locals. By introducing yourself, you can potentially get to know others, make friends. And that can help you, especially if you need trade stuff, or help. And be polite and humble. You maybe good, but nobody likes someone who thinks they are better. And that can bite you tournament wise, because if you are in a bind rulings wise and you piss people off, a lot of the viewers may not support you when speaking to a Judge. Overall, great video, man. I'll be sure to share this stuff to some friends who do want to get back into the game.
I went to locals with an incomplete Synchron deck. You can imagine how that went as that's a deck that can't afford to be incomplete, as well as the fact that it's rogue. A rogue deck vs meta when I don't know how the meta works lol
Im 24 now i never been to an event because i live in the country in texas but i played everyday in grade school. now im in the army and theres finally a card shop where people play yu gi oh near me and it's closed because of xorona im anxious and existed to play i like the old format i got a goat control deck
Thank you for making this video. This Saturday is the first tournament I've played in since 2005. I'm stressing a bit but it's all good. I'm there to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and have a fun time.
I can relate. I stopped playing the game in 2010. And I attended my first locals last year. It was quite the experience. Trust, relax and have a good time. it is okay to be out of it. There is nothing wrong with that and be open to learning.
Neil Ganti that's some good advice, thank you. I went to my first locals last week and I forgot to grab my deck. I grabbed my deck box but forgot I had my Pokemon deck in there. woops lol.
Here's a tip: this is what I do when I get something to eat every locals: Tell the owners of the locals I'm getting something to eat so they can watch my bag. Another tip: Make sure that your first locals is always a sneak peek or pre-release.
What happened to me I have no preparation from my deck, I forgot the boss monster to be added in extra deck, I ask if he's Okey with it. Casual tournament also my first time entering I got a lot of misplay to
Ey bruv You admit You stole back in the day so did i dude You even drop the age on it honesty gets You a like comment and sub 10/10 for keeping it real.
I haven't done a tourney in 6 years (I was 12) and I showed up to a card shop and their was a free tourney I didn't know about and I placed top 5 out of 41
Man I remember my first local tournament. I was like 10 or 11 with my Warrior/Gearfried Equip Spell deck & I placed 2nd & got a Seiyaryu for it. Even back then I knew it was a shit card but I had hella fun. I plan on getting back into going to local tournaments again so this video helped a lot.
The pain is when you have to sit there and show your winning deck, I knowing now people will use it, edit it, judge it,as the person who doesn't play online with my deck that hurts 😂
This remembered me about my first locals a few years ago :) Came with my fluffal deck during pepe tier 0 format.. i still stole some games while beeing nervous as fuck 😂
Havent played yugioh with anybody in years and when i did it was just fun. I buy and collect cards and decks and play myself for fun but my local gamerz haven has yugioh on Thursdays i just want to be prepared with a decent deck before i go. Im not gonna bother with link summoning or pendulums though.
Crow vs Gaming I did it a couple of months ago for nostalgia and is amazing, Im having fun like old times. They kick my ass because my cards are so obsolete, but is ok, still fun. I even put some synchros and xyz into my old school deck.
Honestly the only thing holding me back from going to a local place in general is my anxiety. I really can't deal with toxic people
I feel you , i say go when your ready and if you do go , bring a friend so it can keep you positive

Honestly man most people at locals are genuinely really really nice. You’ll find out if u go but yeah
same i have anger issues and done boxing and mma for years so ik myself and ik ima try to fight instead of being a bigger person and walking away
so many people forget this game is about having fun... glad to see someone still remembers it's just a game (:
No kidding. I've heard of people being stabbed over games of Magic the gathering.
DKGH124 yea man it's nuts what some people do over a game. Shame really

See the problem with bringing trades is that I have nothing to bring I just got my deck and my supplies

T3MP3ST 1996 The funny thing is that's the lore part of BA.
Mine too. Nekroz got hit a little after though so I never got another chance to play it when it was good sadly.
good look.=]
At my locals we get banned for selling in store team innovation ygo
So that's why most people ask to go outside at my locals when they buying stuff
Or selling stuff
Shane Callahan Yea this is true
yeah, that happens on my locals as well but i can understand why they do what they do. its illegal to sell your stuff in a store.
yeah i agree its wrong thats why i rarely shell out cash for the cards i need i generally try to trade or wait for a reprint most of the time.
Im about to leave for a local
Don’t let your Exodia cards unattended they’re gonna get thrown out of the board this isn’t school
tip # -1: you will get urself rekt no matter how good u think u are
My deck screws everybody over because it's a fucking triple d deck
I gonna do my first locals playing krawlers. Beware meta! There a new deck in town!...Watch me misplay now. Lmao
I'm having a hard time understanding what you are saying ;.;
I talk fast my bad try playing at .5 speed
Never bring your deck just to "duel" . Wtf else is going on ?
Wow
This is not true for every LGS.
30 hours a week to practice yugioh???? Non mi piace...... lol....
