- A simple review and comparison between 2 practice iaito swords to see which is a better bang for your buck. One is made from a smaller manufacturer while the other is made by a well-known name-brand and is 4-times more expensive.

Really good review, man. Great structure and narration. I hope to see more from you.
Thank you! I have a few more reviews and comparisons planned in the near future.
Thanks for sharing this information ⚔️
looks very similar to the practical they offer so like you said they just removed the edge is a similar situation with the tinker swords they offer too.
Yes, I believe the Iaito is based on the practical series.
I don't considered for $400 a Hanwei a good iaito at that category. Tozando, Seido Shop, Zen Nihon Budogu, Koei are better at the $400 price point.
I feel the same way. There are definitely better makes than Hanwei/Paul Chen that specialize in Iaito, Hema, and fencing with better values.
@@combasticsweapons3603 The tsuka on some Hanwei is so bad in shape.
Agreed! The tsuka maki is atrocious on both. I have students who buy swords at the 400$ price point all the time and they are never that bad even after years of use.
I bought a hanwei practical plus model sh-2073. 3yrs ago I paid $380 usd. The first three inches of blade from habaki is dull. And tsuka wrap is non alternating in one spot. Other than that I love the weight
Thanks!
Nice one
I like how he stares the viewer in the eye when unsheating the sword. XD
XD
can the ryujin iaito rust?
Do you know what model hanwei is In thumbnail photo?
Same one I'm reviewing in the video. So, it's the Practical Iaito Katana. The thumbnail is just a picture I took just before the review.
@@combasticsweapons3603 thank you
can the ryujin iaito rust? and do you have to oil it?
It can potentially over time. I've been handling and practicing with the sword for almost 2 years and I don't see any form of rusting and I haven't had to oil it. Even though I have touched the blade from time to time I generally keep my hands off of it to avoid oils from potentially tarnishing the blade. Most of these modern iaitos are marketed as "maintenance-free", but I would still be mindful of maintaining good up keep.
can u review the ryujin csr 227 iaito
If I can get a hold of one yes.
@@combasticsweapons3603 they are on sword and armory
Where can I buy that unsharpened katana at $100?
Both are linked in the description.
