I recently bought a 2025 HRV EX-L after someone ran into my 2019 HRV EX and it was deemed a total loss. The EX-L is the way to go. This 2nd gen is a 180 degree improvement change from the 1st gen. As far as engine power, it's a commuting car and I haven't noticed any issues with getting onto the freeway. It's not a Mustang, it's regular transportation.
I have a 2024 exl..and know a lot about cars from my previous tweaks...and i removed the stock air filter that comes in this car..because it contains oil on paper..and I switched it to a "just paper"... no oil..it's still made for this year and model of car..But to the point is that at Dyno..it shows it increased 4 horsepower by this filter..And I do feel the difference in the car.
