2011 found a balance between the lightheartedness and dark nature of the series. I think the 2011 is better for making a great distinction between the two. I feel like the 2011 version is more of a fun adventure compared to the dark 1999 version. I still love the 1999 version though and I can understand why you like it more.
In terms of lightning tone and art style 1999 is far much better compare to 2011. But the 1999 version is also suffers from poor drawings in some of its episodes just like your typical anime in the 90's unlike the 2011 version its very consistent to it. As for the art style the reason why 2011 looks very childish because the studio want to be as loyal to the manga art style.
Feitan is almost OP to the max and he has Immense Agility: Feitan can attack from every direction while darting around at impressive speed, recovering his position quickly right after an exchange of blows and assaulting the enemy relentlessly. And in the new HunterXHunter. When he uses "Pain Packer : Rising Sun" Triggered by "Piece Of Shit" He summons a mini-sun and a suit that can withstand the heat of a small sun. I think he would get destroyed by old man Netero but then again, We know the Troupe vs Chimera Ant Elites did well.. But they never went against the Royal Guard or Ant King like Killua/Gon did.. Killua actually ended up using Godspeed and was pretty damn fast, im ready for Dark Continent ARC!!!!!!
What is it with the Japanese casting voice actresses to play adult male characters? When they are underaged characters, that's perfectly understandable, but not when they are fully grown adults (* cough * GOKU * cough *). IT. NEVER. SOUNDS. GOOD!
Some can do it well, but this version of Feitan is a good example of bad decision making in terms of voice acting. Feitan's voice sounds forced which is noticeable at best when the actress tries too hard on the lower tone.
Oh to be a tiny sadistic murderer thief who is too powerful to care about anything anymore and has no empathy left in the soul to simper over the deaths of said victims
