Correction, in the books during The Hand's tourney Ser Loras Tyrell defeats Ser Gregor Clegane in the semi-final tilt. Sandor Clegane is supposed to face Ser Loras Tyrell in the final tilt, but Loras, in gratitude to the Hound for saving his life from his brother Gregor, yields the match.
See! TRUE honor. Men nowadays would never yield the win, or even say Thanks.
The bigger the man, the bigger the pie.
I had a long thought over this comment, going over several possible meanings and innuendoes before finally reading your name.
He was one of the Lannister's most valuable tools... The Very First thing that Cersei said to him was: "My! I see that you are _definitely_ in your most Top form!" and the Very First thing that the Mountain said to Cersei Lannister was: "Who do you want me to Kill?"
When it comes to Ser Robert Strong's head, I have my own personal theory. So, after the Red Wedding, we know Joffrey asks for Robb's head from Walder Frey. We never know if he obliges. What we do know is that tar is used to preserve the dead in Westeros. In one of Bran's visions, he sees a figure matching the description of Robert Strong with black tar dropping from his helm. I think that the "Robert" part of the name comes from Robb, and that it's his head on the Mountain's body.
Kenneth Allore that's a cool idea
Scot did you read through his profile before saying that?
Kenneth Allore
Interesting theory, but i don't think It was tar coming from the helmet in bran's vision, rather blackened blood, during Gregor's slow and agonizing death, It was noted by either qyburn or pycelle that his blood had turned black from oberyn's poison
That's fucked and i love it
The Mountain vs The Viper is like Fingolfin Vs Morgoth
zlorad surprisingly great comparison
Except this time, the big guy can be killed and the Viper fights more like Darth Maul.
In the show after Tyrion escapes kingslanding and Cersei call for his head, Tyrion and Varys are talking about getting out of the cart for a walk a joke is made about someone cutting the head off any dwaf they see, when the show takes you back to kingslanding and Cersei's point of view two hunters have just cut a dwaf head off and taken it to her. Since it's not her brothers head they don't get paid and are told to get rid of it Qyburn says that it could be useful for him in his experiments.
Id be happy to accept any thoeries that include ser robbert strong not being to do with THE MOUNTAIN. I can't beleave anything but that GREGOR CLEGANE recovered from the fight with oberyn and went safely back to his keep and ser robbert strong is something else entirely or I couldn't read the books or watch the series without crying. rob stark I have no issue with. interesting theory.
Smoke milk of the poppy everyday
Stannis The Mannis Baratheon lord stannis?
I thought it was funny :(
@@nicholasloremann4741 Gregor's weight is the weed number, you uncultured such-and-such.
Hamza Changazi that was me two years ago and now I am more cultured than ever
I would dabble w some milk of the pop e
Built like a medieval Space Marine, I tell you.
He would turn to khorne tho
Built like 3
As someone who had cluster headaches and migraines when they were younger I kind of get why he killed a man for snoring now. Any sound can be quite head splitting. It doesn't justify what he does but it makes more sense now.
Yep snoring sounds just irritates more if you have a headache
The Mountain form ice and fire is 8 feet tall? Wow. Just to put it into perspective. This
guy is as tall at the space marines from Warhammer 40K- Genetically augmented super solders.
OR tall as Thor Bjornsson!
If facing him in trial by combat, my choice of champion would be Barristan Selmy.
Yeah, Maelys the Monstrous should have been worse than the Mountain.
In this world, Oberyn got more revenge than one could ever expect so, bad ass imo.
Damn I wish he had more screen time in the show. The mountain is so badass.
He is so fucking vicious and aggressive and fucking awful I don't like him ever
the mountain is awful. you can't even say what he does in the comments
Did he just say gregor cut of pieces Vargo hoat and feed it to Vargo hoat. Da fuck.
yeah man, shit is crazy in Westeros
Mano Veneza yeah that's beyond crazy.
+rasheedqe And that's not even the craziest shit happening in ASoIaF...
TheAnakinn It is from what I know. Or at least the darkest.
rasheedqe
Well, there's Biter trying to eat Brienne alive, the Warlocks of Qarth being neither alive nor dead really oh and the Mountain raping Elia Martell with the blood of her children still all over his body. Crazy shit is around the corner everywhere in ASoIaF
Love your videos man. Keep up the good work
Wound nothing.
Even if Martin never confirms it in any way, I would bet money that Gregor was born with a tumor in his pituitary gland of his brain. Known as an "adenoma", it causes excessive, extreme production of somatotropin, ie human growth hormone, and it not only make Gregor so abnormally large, but ensured that his body, due to its overlarge size, produced far too much testosterone (which is primarily produced, in men, from the testicles). The sheer amount of testosterone even from a far too young age prompted massive chemical imbalance, crowding out any possible other emotions Gregor might have had, drowning it under a constant, never ceasing sense of aggression, which ultimately spiraled into sadistic psychopathic behavior, all other emotions strangled and killed by the chemical imbalance. The tumor is also the source of his headaches, and only his genetic freak/mild plot armor is probably what let Gregor live into adulthood: he really should be dead from said tumor.
This would add an extra layer of irony if 1) His corpse is Sir Strong, and 2) He no longer has a head.
Gregor Clegane has the dissability of Gigantism is why he is so big.
Also Gigantism causes a large amounts of headaches which explains why he so addicted to milk of the poppy.
I wish I could draw as well as you :D Do you think cleganebowl will really happen?
+King Mckay No, I was never a big believer in Cleganebowl, though it would be awesome if true.
+CivilizationEx A behind the scenes on how you draw an put some of this together would be really cool.
***** Yeah :D
+King Mckay The problem with Cleganebowl is that it would mainly be cool if it results in Sandor winning (ie undead are vulnerable to fire, so Sandor would have to overcome his fear of fire to beat the Mountain), and I doubt Cersei will be killed by losing a trial by combat (though Sandor could be the Valonquar, so that aspect would fit). Though Cersei is almost certain to choose trial by combat, so I wonder who will be the Faith's champion?
+Björn Usolando Rotoscoping.
Thank you. these videos are great. thanks for your hard work
Valar Hypegholous.
All men must hype!!!!
Amazing work,again!🗡🛡
Hmmm, I always thought that Gregor suffered from chronic pain but who knows. Maybe someone did to him what Bran did to Hodor just with slightly different results.
It is theorized that Gregor had a tumor, which caused him tremendous headaches and pain, and the cancer also lead to his freakish big size.
Psykopat if he really had gigantism he would've died young
+cameron williams This is a fantasy series. It's possible humans are able to survive gigantism in this universe. But who knows.
A benign brain tumor can cause chronic headaches without severely affecting your health so it's possible. It would make a lot of sense as pain often leads to rage.
@@cameronwilliams4149 In the book (during the year the book Game of Thrones starts) he is age 30. André the Giant had gigantism, and he died at age 40, which was due to another condition he had alongside gigantism that made him gain a lot of weight.
However there's a Japanese man that grew extremely tall but idk if he counts as a giant. The lowest life expectancy for Gregor would have been 40.
CLEGANE BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWL!!!!!!!!!!!
It can still happen. Let's petition HBO.
it wont happen ;c
+Clyde I have dubbed it the "Dog Bowl."
Clyde

Anh Triệu it happening in a show that turned to shit since s5 means nothing. Tfw we wont a brotherhood type of remarke. Sad stuff.
The fucking mountain man... I think he's the guy I hate the most in all of the series.
Walder Frey? Ramsey Bolton? Joffery Baratheon?
+Prakhar Tiwari I hate those too except Joffrey
+Stinkmeaner Amen
+Stinkmeaner That's exactly what makes him cool, tho.
@@sorayacatfriend The mountain is just insanely brutal and what he did to Elia is awful
Heh
420 pounds
Pure muscle so yeah
Milk of the poppy is close enough I suppose
Poor Horses
Fun fact: The mountain actor, Hafthor Julius Björnsson, weight 205 kg, equivalent to 450 pounds.

Good topic!
"Milk of the Poppy" aka Heroinade does make one...grouchy and, from my experience which is second hand.
Whatever the reason he was so agresive, this is the only character that I truly wished would have a painful and slow death in the earlier books. Of course I am excluding Joffrey and Ramsay.
Hey me too!
0:50 don't talk to me or my son ever again
Great video! I think you got most things spot on. Just one thing: Why is Tywin depicted with hair?
Tywin Lannister almost didn't wanted turn over his man to House Dorne because he that so good for Good House Lannister. Tryrion thought it better turn over this mad man to keep Dorne out of wars of 5 Kings.
Had a stroke reading that
Get hyped.
420 lbs is actually kinda light for an 8 foot muscle bound man. Hafthor Bjornsson is 6’9 and 450 lbs, you’d think over a foot difference would equate to more than a 30 lbs weight differential and certainly not in Thor’s favour.
That just means he more agile then he looks.
He’s also a modern bodybuilder lol GOT is like the dark ages not nearly as advanced nutrition or workout routines
Could you please explain how Ser Loras beat the mountain in the tourny? i couldnt really understand what you said in the video, something about "merwin heat?"
Loras brought a female horse in heat to the Tourny, which distracted the male horse of Gregor Clegane, causing him to lose the fight.
Super video
The appendix of AFFC it names Qyburn as a necromancer at the same time stating Ser Gregor is dying painfully of a poisoned wound. In the appendix of ASoS he's noted as a "sometime necromancer."
So, who has Qyburn raised from the dead previously and where are they?
+AeroDoe I think he experimented with that when he was a Maester, but I doubt he ever actually raised someone from the dead as successfully as he did with Gregor.
CivilizationEx
Vivisection is on live patients. Not deceased. That's what he gets stripped of his chain for.
I don’t think there’s any more loathsome fictional character.
-Judge Holden from "Blood Meridian"
-AM from "I have no mouth and I must scream"
where do you find all this informations?
gregor didn't went to finals in hand tourney it was semi finals match bcoz sendor was already in finals
Great video. Could you please make a video about Volantis?
+Aquele Luis It is on my list, will hopefully get to it at some point.
I'm from the future, you'll get the Volantis video in December of 2018.
The mountain that rides indeed
great video man, could you do a video on what if civs ran into each other, here's one what if the star wars galaxy galactic empire (EU and canon) got into an very close orbit with the the star trek galaxy (next generation)
+Xavier Ford Sorry but it's unlikely I will be able to do something like that, there are a number of fanfiction stories though that cover stuff like that.
Hi! I've benn following you since many months, and i'd like to ask if you have any plans to do a serie about the Wheel of Time books.
+morfrido Hey there, yes I have wanted to do a wheel of time series for awhile, but there is so much to cover in ASOIAF/LOTR/Star Wars that I don't really have time for new topics. However after this season of Game of Thrones ends, I will expand to cover at least a couple of new series. Possible contenders right now are Elder Scrolls, the Witcher, Dune and Wheel of Time. So I will definitely get to it one day, but how long that will take is still up in the air.
Thtat's great! No worries, no great job was done quickly (ask Martin). By the way, Dune was another suggest i had in mind, so i'm afraid i will be following your channel for many years to come :)
morfrido :)
the question is what is in the helm. would it be littlefinger's head?
Littlefinger is still alive, you know.
Psykopat well......
How are you goin to update your videos once the books are done?
+Cristhian Vargas My timeline vids will continue with all the updated info, as for the smaller one's like these, I will make Part 2 vids for the more popular topics.
+CivilizationEx thanks for the reply
Dracarys🔥🔥🔥🔥💥
One fan-theory Kristian Nairn has heard is that Hodor is a Clegane, but it's ridiculously far-fetched.
Doctor van Nostrand could possibly be a snow (bastard)...
Hodor is believed to be descended from Dunk.
Hodor is a strong from house strong. House strong also has large members.
I don't know but I like the character. A huge, merciless and cruel killing machine that only lives for the fight. The Tywin's mad dog.
Hopefully it's a love to hate relationship. Keep in mind he's a sadist who has no qualms about abusing his little brother, child murder and rape.
I find it strange that Gregor sat on the council. He's a great warrior without a doubt but he doesn't strike me as any sort of wise leader or knowledgeable consultant. He is mostly just muscle.
its actually stated somewhere I believe that he was a decent officer when it came to raids, able to take castles quite easily due to his ferocity and his mountains men
@@alexprice6848 Well no doubt he can inspire them. But I don't think he can take castles on his own. Sieges take time and strategy to take.
It's akin to Caligula giving his horse a seat in the senate
@@GabiN64No.
He is a capable commander with warrior instinct.
Cersei said in S06E02 I think that Ser Strong is Gregor Clegane by saying gregor instad of ser strong.
Are you slow in the head?
That's the show not the books
That's the show not the books
I feel the mountain will die by one of dannys dragons after he kills one of them because right now they still seem vulnerable to heavy spears and I also feel he will go rogue if jammie kills cerci
The skull was a dwarfs head
ELIA OF DORNE!
Benjen/Euron will warg into unGreg.
will you ever do elder scrolls lore
Wun wun says hi
Gendry?????
+tito bonilla It is on my list, but will have to wait for my Patreon followers to vote for that topic.
But why is he very loyal to the lannisters?
They are his liege Lord and they let him go crazy and committing all kind of atrocities in battle. His loyalty is also based on pragmatism.
I only saw the GoT shows, I'm watching this videos to get a better understanding of the lore and stuff, its amazing. I allways though everyone asumed the Moutain had survived and was now a royal guard for Cercei but that his hounds were treated with magic making him a monster, but no one would say that outloud. So in the books that guy is actualy "Robert Strong" and they pretend the Mountain is really dead? Thats cool. I mean, at least we see in the series that there is a body underneath
A very deep and well written character indeed, coming from an author who criticises one-dimensional villains.
🤣
He isn't an important character. He is just a brutal servant who is murdered for justice and gets turned into a zombie forced into eternal servitude. Sandor is a far better character, but I don't like either
He represents the inhuman cruelty of their world and lack of justice.
It would've been better if wun wun fought the mountain
damn 2:00 shit got dark
So basically the mountain should have been put down as a kid.
I meant far earlier than that. Likely by 6 since it was clear he was deranged. @Aidan Champeau-Annoye
Yes but his father saw potential in him as a great warrior and Tywin used him a OP living weapon.
Tywins head? Or mind
I'll bet Ser Robert Strong has Tywin Lannisters head...
No. Tywin got a funeral and his corpse was sent to Casterly Rock.
Pffff I can do wut he did. Hold my beer
too bad the series didnt go for this "no head" look.
hause clegane had not title lord
I’d whoop Gregor in a fight with nothing but a pencil ✏️
Hang on oberyn defeated the mountain however died while making him confess to the murders of his sister and her son
Luke Coupland There is no winner until someone dies or one side surrenders. Oberyn never won. He could have if he wasnt consumed by anger, but he didn't.
"Weak point in the helmet" NIGGA THAT EBTITE HELMET WAS A WEAK POINT
If only Oberon had finished the job. The Mountain is pure evil and should have been put down for good in that fight.
oberyn was a dumbass
Gregor did die but his corpse is under control of necromancy.
How would a man 8 ft tall survive for so long
possible giant lineage, or the fact that its a fantasy world and there are numerouse accounts of people surviving with physical deformation that would't really fly in our world
He died at the age of 34, so thats nothing unusual
420 pounds ... :v
Gregor's sword is kind of a longsword. A greatsword is a sword that is as tall or taller than the person wielding it. While 6 foot would be a great sword for most it would not be to him.
marinus18 incorrect.
I really wonder how this evil son of a bitch is going to finally die. Thinking realistically , he can never be beaten in a fair combat 1 on 1 situation. Yet going 1 on 1 with this guy wouldn't be fair to his opponent. I guess you could try launching a javelin at him but i don't know if that will get through plate armor.
Oberyn could have easily killed him if he was actually focused on the task instead of the drama with Elia.
Артём Водоватов
True , but i don't think that the mountain will be brought down in a tournament field. He will die in a battlefield or in his bed. And he is no longer the same being as he was when he fought Oberyn.
+Olcay Alp Bayram he might die in the explosion of the red keep
American Sniper
That would be extremely anticlimactic lol.
+Olcay Alp Bayram That's what they did with that big bodyguard in Dorne with the big spear.
