I don't like this because it disproves my favourite theory of Bran being the cause of Aerys' madness. The theory states that while Bran is visiting the time of Aerys being alive the white walkers attack and since burning them is the best known way to kill them the phrase burn them all is repeated and Aerys' hears the voices(as he apparently did hear voices) and like Hodor. He keeps repeating the phrase even after Jaime kills him.
We don't know for sure, but the theory is that Varys did not support the Targaryens, he was secretly supporting his own cause (possibly Blackfyres) and so sided with the Mad King because he wanted Westeros to remain in a bad position, so his King could come later and take the Throne.
Another thing, Ser Ilyn Payne, captain of Tywin's guard, openly made a comment about Tywin being the true king, and had his tongue removed for that
Why did Ser Payne disappear from the show?
On the show, he was among those who were in the Red Keep when it crumbled. I assume he was killed along with Cersei and Jaime, but they didn't show it.

THE KING IN THE NORTH (V2)
8:59 Sister not daughter
I don't like this because it disproves my favourite theory of Bran being the cause of Aerys' madness. The theory states that while Bran is visiting the time of Aerys being alive the white walkers attack and since burning them is the best known way to kill them the phrase burn them all is repeated and Aerys' hears the voices(as he apparently did hear voices) and like Hodor. He keeps repeating the phrase even after Jaime kills him.
Jaime stabs* him.
Damn queen rhaella suffered alot :[
If only Rhaegar hadn't fallen in love/become obsessed with Lyanna
Jon wouldnt be born, the Night King kills everyone.
If Varys supported the Targaryens, why didn't he side with Rhaegar who was a better person than Aerys?
We don't know for sure, but the theory is that Varys did not support the Targaryens, he was secretly supporting his own cause (possibly Blackfyres) and so sided with the Mad King because he wanted Westeros to remain in a bad position, so his King could come later and take the Throne.
Is all of this in the books?
yes
