I have a clothes dryer in my shop and i put my valve body gaskets in for a few minutes right before installing. Works great, shrinks the gasket just a little and the holes usually line up much better.
You could do that. The point of the exercise is to use alignment pins to try and keep the gasket in the proper position. By doing that you shouldnt have to worry about it.

Interesting tip. I have heard you can also do that in a microwave oven. Ive never actually tried it though.
@@BroaderPerformance I have tried the microwave also but i like the slow of the dryer better. That microwave will cook em fast lol.
400 psi? That should make some firm shifts ;) Actually, I know that would break things.
