- Snarky Puppy in Orlando on 1/5/16 at The Plaza Live performing What About Me? Mark Lettieri (Guitar) and Larnell Lewis (Drums) go off!!!!!
snarkypuppy.com...
This was shaky cell phone video and if it looks weird it's because of the TH-cam image stabilization.
It’s insane to me how Larnell can play such a crazy solo and despite playing a thousand fills the hi-hat is always in time and on beat.
He's warping spacetime with those riffs
This is the trippiest video ever!! No body can resist grooving to Mark Lettieri not eve the equipment!!..
yeah the mics were bobbing up down left right
Those were the most legendary key changes I've ever heard in my live.
Am i the only one seeing the drum overhead mic is grooving to the music ?
+ the bassamp
Hilarious! I was just laughing at the same thing.
mark is bobbing and the camera stabalization is causing to stabalize mark not everything else
Image stabilization. It’s actually the guy filming it that is bouncing. But the end result is that you feel like you’re on DMT
It knows what’s good
One of my favorite guitar solos ever
Larnell Lewis is one of the greatest drummers in the world. Holy smokes that solo!!!
idk why i think the solo was just random hitting and did not like it personally. All drum solos sound random shit to me. Please tell me how do I start liking the solos? Am I missing something?
@@divyanshtiwari3547 Well first of all, this is a cell phone recording so the audio is pretty crappy to begin with, and when you add in the chatter of everyone near the person recording, you can't really hear the drums all that well. If you want a good example of a Larnell solo (and a fantastic sound mix!) check this one out: th-cam.com/video/Jd1X5JWaGgQ/w-d-xo.html
Totally get why you would think that! I get the same feeling from some music too, Frank Zappa for example. I want to like it, but I just don’t get it. A drums ollo is after all just hitting random stuff in different rhytms, meant to impress. I think to really appreciate a drum solo you might want to play a little, just so you get a sense of what’s impressive on the drums. At the end of the day, if you really don’t like something, maybe you just don’t like it. It’s all just personal preference!
@@danielschenker9874 makes sense
He a badd man is true...
Larnell is just a musical genius, plain and simple, he’s so smart with every note he plays
Bruh
True his placement is special
I can watch for hours oh wait I have
He was showing off on that solo🤣🤣 damn man
Larnell is definitely one of the most creative drummer when it comes to drum solo composition. The dynamics and feel on the solo part is one of the tastiest I've ever seen. Everytime he does a solo, there is something new, it's always surprising.
When I first saw these guys, they were just 'Snarky Puppy'. Looking back on this now and seeing Mark Lettieri and Cory Henry both in the band...OG. What a super group.
Wtf…… this is the most amazing thing I’ve heard in a long time
Fuckkk mmmeeeeee what a performance! Not only by mark, but everyone! Absolutely flawless. Wish I was there for sure! Was vibing enough just watching it on my iPad! Such a joy to watch.
If this video had ten times more views the world would be a better place
Pocket so fresh the sound gear can't help but feel it 1:38
i havent had goosebumps like this in a looooong time
eliasvevo I started sweating halfway through that guitar solo @marklettieri Just amazing stuff 👌
0:56 everybody gansta till the amp start dancin
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Two truly awesome solo's! What a band!!
To all the players of Snarky Puppy...Thank you for keeping fusion alive...
This must be the best combination of Snarky Puppy musicians they've had. I just saw them without Cory Henry and Mark Lettieri and it just wasn't the same.
and Larnell Lewis
he is a god. and michael league
Cory and Mark are the flashier soloists but I equally love listening to McQueen / Bill etc. They tend to sit in the pocket and groove, which can be just as funky (if not more).
Lettieri and McQueen are 2 of my favorite guitarrists and they couldn't be any more different. I love how McQueen is intentionally offbeat and almost quirky in his style. He's proof that you don't just need speed.
And Martin
Musicians bringing music back
WORDS can't express how much joy they bring to my hearth!!!!
Love love love it
Well heck...now we know why those Galaxy 7s were catching fire!!
this song was amazing to begin with and it keeps getting better and better everytime they play it
Holy crap Larnell
he is real :O
It should be illegal what that man does to a drum set!
I love how Michael casually asks Mark at the start: Wanna take it?
And he proceeds to improvise a face meting solo, casually.
2:31 how fluid the nose wipe and the hihat doesn't skip a beat
Jajaja... Ese tipo es un fenomeno
Absolute BEAST
Damn, that Daytripper riff at the very end...
Lettieri is a goddamned monster. End of story.
His runs are some of the best playing I've ever heard. His sweet picking's fantastic too in songs like Can't Wait for Perfect - Bob Reynolds
when a band are this good it inspires the players to play top of their game, all sp guitarists are awesome but mike lettieri is phenomonal
Haha Theres no way Larnell wasnt feeling the pressure after Mark's solo. But he pulled off a great solo too!
Legendary video, legendary players, legendary band. I still watch this at least once a week.
The best line up!
love it, wow!!
Man, they always amaze me!!!
It’s the fact that Michael and Cory are blatantly just changing keys because they can they want to 😂 god tier musicians at the top of their game, it’s a privilege to watch them at work. That guitar solo had my jaw on the floor, and Larnell wasn’t too bad either 😜 (holy fuck how is one human being that good)
And then they just give each other a nod, and drop back into the original key for the riff at the end...holy fuck indeed
They are simply the best.
I call this, "How About That!"
3:48 You know you play fast when you make Cory Henry laugh
My favourite Marc's guitar solo for this song.
This guy's one the best players out there imho
Speachless... what a groove and joy!
strong Fearless Flyers vibes on that intro, or maybe it's just Mark, gotta love him
Thank you so much for posting this.
this was one of the best shows of theres ive ever been to though..
Lucky you!!!!
Ohh man, this is sooo crazy mannnnnnnnn mark is amazing
I love that Cory Henry follows Mark's solo line on the organ at 4:52

That "Hoh, shit..." at 6:14 made me crack up ahahaha
Back when I was working, the SVT sometimes kept my motel room warm. I sort of miss that hundred pound chunk of lead. Damn best bass amp ever made.
3:44 every fucking time just blows my mind
Ohhhhh. THAT's how you play the drums. Okay, I get it now
1:40 even the microphones bopping to this one
Holy...this made me cry. Like full on messy man cry.
Bro when they drop back into the original key after Larnell’s solo I lost my mind
Killing it
Amazing!!!
Amo suas músicas Mark
I love everyones reaction to what Mark does at 3:49 hahahaha , just insane. And Larnell's solo is one of the best I've ever seen, he really took it to the stratosphere ...
Snarky is the gol'darn truth.
I'm craving a John Mayer and Mark Letteiri jam, something like that Hotel Cafe Improv Jam
3:19 “Here we go” 🤓
Finally some rock n roll 😂
STOP BEING SO FUCKING GOOD. GODDAMNIT.
コリーとルイスとマイケルに囲まれてソロぶちかます構図好き

I love how everyone watching when Larnell starts to go off goes, "Oh shit..."
The first couple of minutes sounded like Stefan Ivan Schäfer. Incredible stuff

I believe Larnell literally caught on fire on that one!
Daaaayummm!
2:20 That's some killer lead tone

Mark's guitar is literally saying to the audience, "I have a giant dong."
Digging the samba groove...
The re-entry at 8:17 tho
LARNELL!!!
6:36 Ainsley Harriott
