Brilliant extensive walkthrough! From me as a drummer, I love playing with the original mix version of the EZX! It sounds so good and real and has a great playing feel. Toontrack did another great job with this EZX!
Excellent overview Shawn, definitely an interesting EZX and one I'll consider down the track. For now I think I need to learn how to use what I have and start making some music 🤘🤘 Looked like you enjoyed showing off this one, especially the blast beats. When I started to dig into metal a few years ago, I had no idea of the number of sub genres. So much to explore 🤘
I got it today. Breifly checked out all the kit presets but haven't got to try it with my roland kit yet. I'm sure it will do fine. I'm already happy with Superior Drummer 3
this is sweet......my son is heavier than me but this is awesome .....ive got sopme ez2 packs and i think 4 midi packs but these grooves are great....thanks for the walkthrough
I'm still looking for a cool expansion pack with a double bass drum. I'm not really a metal freak, although I like metal, listen to it and sometimes play it, but I'm not sure if I'll ever make a metal song. I'm looking for a set like that because I already have one for Superior Drummer, but the SDX can't be played in EZ Drummer. What would be a recommended double bass set? The songs that are included aren't that important to me. In general, I'm rather old-fashioned in the metal area and listen to things like Judas Priest, Def Lepard, Saxon and the like.
@@ShootieSchool Yes, that's what I think. I only have a metal set for SD, it sounds nice and dry and not as clayey as the standard SD set. Now I'm looking for something like that for EZD. For SD I use the "Metal Machinery" and am looking for a re-equalization for EZD.
Modern Metal has some great extreme sounds. But I refuse to use it for over two years and I do not recommend it... www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/modern-metal-ezx-bug/
I've been wondering the same thing and listening back to back. So far it appears this one is a bit more polished, but maybe they balance out in pros and cons.

Thank you! Sure does.
Interesting! Fantastic article job as always laying this shit out! 🤘
Thank you, Plague!
thank you - likely upcoming purchase
You got it!
I just bought this EZX and I find it's got a tone of ambience/room in all the presets, but when you pull those back a bit, the presets are brilliant!
A great thing to consider when listening to presets!! Great advice.

I like the sounds so far. Absolutely going to be useful moving forward.
Looking forward to using it myself.
The best of the best and finally in mono ch ! Great job!
Thanks!

You have plenty to start with at this stage. I did have fun with this video.
Sold! That’s a helluva set. 🤘
Sure is!

Do report back if there's anything particular about drumming with it.
Good demo of Metal Mania Shawn. I watch even though the genre and EZX are not my thing. It’s good to know what Toontrack are getting up to!
Thank you, Mark!
Its a great EXZ for sure.

I don't think it exists. Only the Metal themed EZXs have them. Hope you're well!!

Its hard to beat the Death Metal Ezx IMO but so far this one sounds pretty rad?
I still recommend Death Metal. I still use the old metal! EZX as well.
Ooooft. Thon Dirk geezer is a seriously brutal drummer.
Oh yeah!!
Is metal mania ezx better than modern metal ezx? Does it dethrone modern metal ezx and takes your top spot as the #1 expansion for ezx?

Thanks now I have to buy another thing. 😂
It happens!
