TH-cam is probably going to hide this comment but, this show as a kid was tits. First episode for me was the RC blimp vs RC plane over a rock quarry. Episode came out just before Christmas, because at the same time, the GI Joe Christmas special from the 80s was on at the same time. When that went to commerical, my borther and I were scrolling through the channels and hit this gem on TV. Instead of finishing GI Joe, we watched this instead. This series was probably what sparked my interest in welding and fabrication.
Sadly, Bob Odegaard from team North Dakota was killed in Sept. 2012 when he crashed his 1945 vintage F2G Super Corsair airplane. He was practicing for an airshow.
@@jordanpeterson5140 Nope, it was the blue and white #74 plane that crashed. The #57 red and white plane still survives, I saw it in the Fargo air museum in ND recently.
This episode was aired on March 26th 2003 Marvin Heemeyer took his armored Komatsu d355a bulldozer aka Killdozer on a rampage through Granby Colorado on June 4th 2004 the same day he also passed away. So on a long enough timeline there is a chance all be it small that given the air date of this episode Marvin Heemeyer could of watched this and took inspiration for Killdozer or even was building it at the time.
I hated when the "expert" would take over the build. They should just remain as an advisor. The teams were there because of what they could do. Probably why I enjoyed the team from California who built the tractor that made it to the top of the hill.
They really should have given contestants a fork truck or tractor with a bucket for gathering parts. So often it would wear them out before they even started to build. I would have even like it if they had workers who would move selected items into their work yard for them so they could just build.
All these parts were just lying around huh? 🤔 so fortunate that there was a pair of matching tracks. And just a massive sheet of plate steel?! Like anyone would throw it away 😂
Wtf was that idiot thinking dragging the motor and transmission like that. If they just shorten the chain the quad and cherry picker would have worked fine.
Everything they want to replicate seems to be invented by the Americans yet the tracks were in Europe before they were used in America and the British most likely come up with the design, like the first tank used on a battle field in the first world war, not an American invention like that one American war film that claimed they come up with the idea,
The good thing about scrapheap challenge (British) was seeing what the teams were doing, a lot more mechanical but this version misses out on that....not impressed.
I may be weird but the best part of these old shows for me are the commercials. Lol (I'm 31 so it brings me back to my childhood)
I agree completely, Radio Shack was awesome and look a the phones!
I just shared this video with three of my friends specifically for the Subaru Baja commercial
Yea this popped up in my recomended and the commercials were instant nostalgia. "Woa, i remember that!"
Haha I'm 30 I feel u there my favorites are the old dodge commercials
I’ve weirdly agree as I’m 25 and I used to watch this 🤣

Still is the tits, I wish they would reboot it! There’s nothing else like it.
This was my childhood, I loved watching a marathon of these on a Friday night
I thought this show was the coolest thing ever as a kid. (I turned 31 baxk in June) I even had a Junkyard Wars themed birthday 🤣
That’s awesome. I was 31 when we filmed it and we thought it was the coolest too. Thx for watching
@@jetdocj1441 May i ask what year was it filmed? i was a kid when they came on new and i am 43 now.
We filmed this season in 2002 and it aired in early 2003. Thx

R.I.P. Bob😔
I think it was that red and white one seen in this episode, too. Damn shame, beautiful plane and a pretty good guy.

@@p71collector haven't seen it by the window, I drive by there every day. Well, not the first time I've been wrong.
@@jordanpeterson5140 It could be farther back in the museum or stored at his hanger in Kindred.
Watching him drag that v8 along the ground was painful! why not just roll it on to a sheet of scrap as a sled?

That poor Nissan Pulsar NX Coupe in the intro lol. Probably scrap metal by now. Those were cool cars.
I’ve watched a few of these old episodes. They trashed many rare classics. Back then they weren’t worth shit.
Seeing that datsun in the race hurts
But this show is so addicting
And the RX-7 😭
I want the job of hiding all the parts they need in the scrap / junkyard LOL
My thoughts exactly anything to make content as they say nowadays LOL LOL LOL 🔧🔧🔧
Back when TLC was worth watching.
Lol same way I felt when I saw commercials 😅 I'm 34 I was like damn I was a teenager when this came out
Seeing the dog with the pink mohawk triggered a core memory!!
Thanks for uploading these old show, take me back!!
Some of those “junk” cars they bulldoze at the end are worth $$ now. Old rx7, Mitsubishi starion, Datsun 240.
I'd rather have any of those junk cars over a tesla
@@bensmith4563 I mean I get it, but a Tesla is quick enough to make up for a lot... better than 99% of other new shit

At 28:10 minutes finds the perfect tire hiding polished up and ready to go😂😂
That intro music hit me right in the feels
Thanks for the vid
very cool video collection

Discovery didn’t sells these on dvd i would love to have the series

The mitsubishi starion whidebody and FB rx7 that got ruind. Rest in peace JDM classics

@@buckadillafilms lol. I mean, not a bad idea for show. But they also are tasked with building something
Shoot, the second I saw duallies, i would have put tank tracks on the back-burner
To think that little black nissan is worth 3-6k now
Can we please bring this back?
I wish they would bring this back
Back when governors were real people
43:47 I love a woman that appreciates a bench seat!
yes this show was from a while ago
& needs a remake
Do you have Laundry Launchers?
Isn’t she a reporter for the UFC?
L'absence de soutitrage en français est regrettable dommage cela rend le visionnage impossible

that backwards plow idea was stupid
Especially because they used a 350, sm465, and np205. Sm465 has granny low, tops out at 5 mph but gives you all the torque you would ever need
Corniest show hosts I’ve ever seen
The hosts are SO annoying..
the dude is annoying but I bet Karen was a savage in the sack!
Biggest name in bulldozing lol u mean yard equipment cat runs the heavy equipment world
