Not all players do it, but there have been quite a few guys over the years who LOVE to let their opponent hear it when they’re beating them.
Unfortunately, not all of the players that talk trash are prepared to back it up.
And they end up embarrassing themselves worse than they would’ve if they’d said nothing at all!

@@xjr1000x Suggs had plenty of great hits on him, but Suggs was part of what he considered his greatest play ever. When he fought Suggs off from a sack, to get out of the pocket to throw the ball away, which lead to him throwing a TD on the next play if I remember correctly.
Bart Scott was the one who blindsided him and crushed him. He went on the radio here in Pittsburgh and was asked about the hardest hit he ever took. He said it was from Bart Scott. He said he went from seeing the field, to the stands, then the sky, all in slow motion. It was such a brutal hit since he didn't have a chance to protect himself at all. I felt the pain just watching it.

Actually, those guys all had great hits on Ben, but Ben himself said the hardest ever was by the Raven's Courtney Upshaw. He first said Bart Scott's but that was before Upshaw's, which made him change his mind. At least that is what I read somewhere...

Cortland and Dre going at it was great to see, but I give Cortland props. Dude was a tiny DB and had to battle for everything he got. Making it in the league period was impressive. But he was able to make himself a pretty decent DB for quite a few yrs. Props to him

I don't agree about Mayfield. Maybe he hasn't lived up to everyone's wildest dreams, but in the time he's been there, the Browns have gone from perpetually irrelevant to an actual contender, and I don't think that's a coincidence. Nor is the fact that the Browns' success and failure has correlated with the ups and downs of his performance -- but for some reason, he always seems to get minimized in the successes but centered in the failures.
I don't blame him for being unhappy with the team either (I think calling it "trash talking" is a reach anyway). They've made a mess out of this entire offseason in relation to him (I don't mean just by moving on, but the self-admitted communication failures, basically sabotaging any chance of trading him (by not being realistic in what they were asking), and so on) and now his future is basically in limbo and he has very little control over it. I'd be pretty mad in that situation too.

Regarding Mandarich he wasn't quite as bad as people made him out to be. He played I think for seven seasons in the NFL and was average as an offensive lineman. All the hype and his own mouth plus being the 2nd overall pick make people think he was a complete washout. Still turned out to be a massive overreach by Green Bay though.
