Holy crap, as an electrical engineering grad attempting to keep his childhood 03 206 ski nautique working this is incredible!! Crazy how these things are designed. Awesome work & appreciate the info man!
What a GREAT video. I have these same gauges, and system, in my motorhome. Both of my air gauges have failed. I've replaced them both once but can no longer find replacements. Fortunately I kept the old gauges and may have to give it a try. Now, hopefully I can find some of those stepper motors.
Great video! Unfortunately, Faria doesn’t support these gauges anymore. Unless you can find used gauges that work you have to go with a complete analog panel replacement for $1500 and lose water/air temp and depth. This is the best solution I have seen for this. Thank you for posting it.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! great video with cinematography. Aircraft mechanic here and I will be doing this to my fuel gauge. Although it seems to simply have no power at all. Have you had this issue with any of your gauges. it is the only gauge that's completely dead.
Thank you for posting this!! Does something similar also work for the tachometer and speedo as well? I have a 2005 Nautique with identical gauges and had to replace all of the small gauges so far. Now my tachometer is starting to act up. A symptom that I noticed is the backlight stops working every time one of these gauges start having the problems. Sometimes it is intermittent.
nice! I have the same boat you mentioned in your video, that has a couple of gauges that are dead, and the speedo, intermittently bounces between working and not. i will be doing this fix when i get to the job. Did you need to do anything at the gateway box? Does this fix also apply to the speedo?
Do these electronic gauges require a special sending unit? I’m considering just upgrading my gauges to old school analog but don’t know about the senders.
Hey man I’ve got a 2006 SAN 220, it’s has the gateway with no pitot tubes. Was wondering if you could point me in the right direction with an issue I’m having. My speedometer and RPM gauges quit, including their digital displays. No lights on the inside of the gauges either but all my other gauges work. But every now and then the Speedo will work then cut back off.
I have a 2006 nautique with similar problems. Can you please provide the proper stepper motor spec as there are a few to choose from on Amazon. Also do you have a solution to fix gauge delay problem with these gauges. My oil pressure gauge and tachometer and temp gauge come on after driving the boat for 20 minutes. The volt gauge is just dead.
What is the purpose of the capacitors you replaced? I only replaced the stepper motor so far as replacing those capacitors seemed a little more difficult than I had the capabilities for. I tried the gauge but it still doesn't work and also the lights don't illuminate either.
I forget the specifics but 1 of the caps was decoupling the 5V and the other might be some sort of a delay circuit. As I say replacing these caps is "somewhat optional" although aluminum electrolytics are notorious for drying out and failing over time. If your application is a ski boat (e.g. Nautique) private message me on planetnautique and I will help. My handle is TechBeer.

got mine apart and am waiting on the replacement parts. GREAT VIDEO!!!
Great video. Very informative and easy to follow!

thanks for doing this! I was really dreading the gateway replacement. this is great.

how much to send you my fuel gauge? 😊

I have a 2014 sweetwater pontoon with Faria gauges, how do I get the engine hours to show on the tachometer
