Wowie Zowie, this is like a new zoo wee mama

Surprised you didn’t mention how the parachute cap can be a complete game-breaker by letting you wall-jump and then float back to the same wall repeatedly to gain infinite height whenever there’s a large wall nearby. Most vertical-based sections with walls scaling the entire section can be completely cheesed with this mechanic.
exactly
Yeah, you get a top 5 (or even top 3) badge as your very first one. That's honestly kind of OP, it feels like either an easy mode or some kind of main story completion bonus.
You can do the same with the floating high jump, albeit you need to twirl mid-air twice per wall jump. Not too hard to get down once you're used to it, and I personally feel floating high jump is the best of the badges.
You can do the same with high jump, grapple and jet run
@@NickyGuaiiyes, that is why the top 5 is
5: Floating high jump
4: Grappling Vine
3: Parachute Cap:
2: Crouching high jump
1: Floating spin jump
The crouching high jump actually can reach the top of the flag if you stand on the stone part of it
Or you can simply not be bad at hitting the top
was about to comment this lmao
I actually did that once
Yup. did this for the majority of the game, it was very handy
Just get good, there’s always a neat little intended challenge to getting the top, like bouncing off enemies and whatnot
I think it is kind of silly that your very first badge (Parachute Cap) is arguably one of the best or at least most flexible ones. Like, it works like a weaker version of Safety Bounce and Wall Climb Jump while offering a higher mobility not like but similarly useful as high jump. It's great for noobs and speedrunners alike, and IMHO deserves a higher spot on that list.
You can absolutely dominate the game without ever switching it out (except for water levels I guess).
I think it’s funny that every situation where you might use wall climb jump, parachute cap is just better 100% of the time.
@@Mushboom37 Not when speed is a factor, but otherwise yes.
@@sinteleonBoth the parachute and grapple badge have an infinite wall climb the the wall jump badge doesn’t have so unless you’re trying to be fast the wall climb badge is bad
I personally can't stand that it removes your little spin move, every jump I'd time around it is now a waste and likely death
2:30 i like the mushroom one bc the lvls always have a specific power up they want you to use and it saves me having to hit 2 blocks to get that power up
Parachute Cap is also good because it can be used for one sided wall jumps! I found that out while playing casually so It’s much further up on my list for that alone!
Yeah, I'd argue it's probably even the 4th best of the bunch.
Same goes for the Floaty High Jump. Infact, I feel like that one goes up even faster
Theres 3 other badges that allow you to do this though
@@NickyGuaii yeah but combine that with its main ability and it’s super versatile. It’s not the best badge in the game, but it still is much better than its placement here imo
That's true!
I’m shocked that you didn’t mention how broken the parachute hat is. When you wall jump, it gives you an additional height boost. I’ve found it makes almost every secret area easier to access because of this
Parachute cap is easily number 2. It’s fun to use, very useful to correct jumps and you can also scale walls by wall jumping, parachuting towards the wall you came off and wall jumping again. This one sided wall jump can be done with the grappling vine too and makes the wall climb jump redundant
Grappling Vine is a lot better and easier though. It has more versatility, and is more fun to use.
The jet run badge + bubble flower is still an undefeated combo but I will admit it only works for some levels
Naw i pefer the spin jump badge with bubble power up. I think that is a better combo cause you can actually control it.
@@Sab5524 Spin jump is the most reliable badge period, but jet run lets you perform tricks no other badge can replicate by itself (granted bubble does help to an extent), along with being just plain faster. Dash badge (with bubble) is just the perfect middle ground between control, speed, and movement though.
@@sinteleon good idea with the fast dash badge I will try it out sometime
At first I wasn't thrilled that all the characters besides Yoshi and Nabbit played the same, but I love how they added pretty much every unique character ability from previous games as badges. The Floating High Jump is almost exactly what Luigi had, Fast Dash is basically what Toad had, The Parachute Cap is kinda like Peach's dress floating, and the Boosting Spin Jump is basically like Rosalina in 3D World
Technically the BSJ could be considered a double jump, which is Daisy’s trait in run.
The “Boosting Spin Jump” badge truly is the best in the game 🌪️
You forgot the fact you can 1 sided wall jump with the cap, making it WAY better than wall cling unless you need to go fast. I have saved myself a lot with this.
I really like the Sound Off badge, some of the sound effects the voice actors do are pretty funny it made me smile.
I'm in World 5 right now but so far my favorite badge is Parachute Cap. It's so versatile. You can glide, stall in the air, delay landing, heck even climbing vertical wall. it's fun to play, and its satisfying to pull off.
For the crouching high jump you can actually hit the flagpole but you need to stand on the base piece of the flagpole to do so
I knew the badges would be good, but not this good. I love them so much. And I love how the expert badges make the game more difficult and the action badges add more movement options which makes the pacing so much better. Can’t wait to see speedruns
The spin jump badge reminds me of the spin from Super Mario Galaxy, only without the attack. When I got it, I rarely took it off for the rest of my run.
Sameeee it's like a budget double jump!
It remind me from freedom planet's lilac cyclone ability as well for giving small height boost while also provide horizontal momentum but without the offensive stuff
I think it's worth mentioning that crouching high jump has great synergy with drill, since you don't have to stop your momentum at all to charge the jump, and safety bounce is the best double jump in the game and allows for a lot of goofy cheese considering bouncing off an enemy (or more importantly, a bubble) refreshes it.
You'll have to make use of everything you've learned throughout all of Super Mario Bros. Wonder's previous levels and pull it all off with extreme precision. As a reward, though, the

Really weird rewards, but I guess Nintendo is going for a more streamlined post game meta, which is more then welcome
I feel like the "All Power Up" badges are way more useful in my opinion, especially the Elephant. If you are in need of a powerup for a particular level, or wanna go crazy with it in a level, it's very nice.
True, but you sacrifice having a badge that gives you new movement
@@CriIp True, but you will also keep the movement options from the drill and bubble powerup more consistently.
My 2 favorites are funny enough the first and last badges.
Floaty cap was such an integral part of how I was playing that I could hardly justify replacing it. I also quickly figured out how to climb up single walls using it allowing me to save myself from tight areas and mistakes.
As for Sound Off?, I find it really funny and since I got it when I 100% the game, it didn’t need to be practical.
Number 1 was the Boosting Spin Jump actually
@@shadowthief6471they mean in terms of gameplay
12:19 if you jump on the flagpole's ground brick thingy and crouch-jump from there, you can easily reach the top. I used that trick much more than you think
2023 is definitely a new era of Mario starting with A brand new film by Illumination and Nintendo, Charles Martinet is retiring and being Mario Ambassador, and a new 2D Mario in 11 years
Yeah after bowser's fury when it was a somewhat dry era glad to see mario go on again and strong

As soon as I saw “boost spin jump” I knew it was all over. A double jump in a Mario game? Broken. And some of the other upgrades kinda throw me off until I get used to it but the double jump feels so natural. Easy top one!
I definitely agree. Having a double jump is just that good
4:26 I'm glad I'm not the only one who knew the safety bounce badge was (most likely) a reference to Peachette
You are correct Nathaniel! Boosting Spin Jump is the best badge in the game! On my stream, I legit said that this badge is OP! And even in the final final level, I was able to utilize this badge without even getting hit.
I love the post game badges! The sound one is fun to just have on while replaying the old levels, and it's funny hearing the sound effects the guy makes 😂
you actually CAN reach the top of the flag with the crouch jump, you just need to stand on the base of the flagpole without touching it and you get enough height.
You weren't kidding when you said there was going to be lot's of videos this month! Nice! :)
It came earlier than I expected not complain just want to point out
@@theenderkirby939Haha, yeah!
with the crouching high jump it IS possible to reach the top of the flagpole, you need to stay on the brown bricks of the pole without grabbing it
EDIT: the boosting spin jump is also a BIG throwback to Super Mario Galaxy with the spin
As someone who always loves to triple jump in Mario games, I did enjoy the timed high jump as a substitute and made use of it for a large part of my playthrough. I like that you can keep it going by jumping over and over, and the extra height really helps. Probably not as useful as the mid air spin jump but I found it more satisfying to use, especially with the flip you do.
(13:15) I agree! The boosting spin jump was my main the moment I unlocked it.
Same!
12:20 You actually CAN reach the top of the Flagpole. Anything BUT the Elephant Power-Up, you can stand at the base of the pole, crouch - then jump!
My favourite is the Jet-Run badge
The Parachute Cap badge is by far the most versatile and useful one in the game.
Since you're stuck with it for quite a while before getting the other ones, they knew it had to be a good one.
I didn't feel the need to use any other badge after it.
It can readjust your falling momentum in the air, make you cross incredible horizontal distances, one-side wall climb and gain an inch of extra height when jumping which can reach blocks above.
you can actually reach the top of the flagpole with crouching high jump! You just need to step on the little platform that holds the flag up first
i tricked my friend with invisibility badge and told him the game broke
The "Sound Off" badge is unironically my favorite one and also the best 100% reward in a Mario game in my opinion. It reminds me of those videos of a guy dubbing sound effects over Crash Bandicoot gameplay, it's really funny to me.
With the crouching high jump, if you jump from the base of the flag, you actually can reach the top of the flag! It's really useful, when I think of maybe missing the top of the flag, I just go to the base and then high jump and boom, Wonderful!
You can wall climb with the parachute cap by wall jumping activating the cap and going back to the wall. It’s slow but it doubles as a normal parachute cap and can be done infinitely
Few notes: Parachute is under ranked because you can gain infinite height on a wall and with crouching high jump you CAN reach the top of the flagpole if you stand on the base of the pole
I find the parachute cap way more usefull! Just because you can get infinite height when using it with a wall, something that the wall-climb jump badge can't! And you are much more free in your motion
I love the high Coyote time you get from Jet Run
12:15 if you stand on the brown part of the flagpole and peform a crouch jump you can get on top of the flag.
I agree with the boosting spin jump placement. It is basically the only badge that I use in the game.
I really liked that some of the badges could be interpreted as the abilities of some characters in previous games. The Parachute Cap is like Peach's Float ability, the Fast Dash is like Blue Toad's faster speed, the Floating High Jump is like Luigi's higher jump, and I know many people compared the Boosting Spin Jump to the Propeller Mushroom but I actually thought it was like Rosalina's Spin Jump in 3D World or Mario's if you're thinking about the Galaxy games. And about Galaxy, the Spring Feet badge is pretty much the Spring Mushroom and I saw many people annoyed by it so I was surprised that it was ranked higher than I thought it would be.
Isn't Rosalina's spin just an attack? I don't recall it helping with movement
@@batchest2977 In either game it’s in, the spin works as an attack AND a jump boost. Though it’s more like a double jump, and if you click ground pound at the same time in Galaxy it becomes a homing ground pound. But yea, it gives Mario and Rosalina a double jump.
@@Johan_4587 Ah okay, yeah I know in Galaxy it does but in 3D World I wasn't sure. Thanks
as someone who's never played a mario game, safety bounce might be amazing for jumpless challenges...probably
The boosting spin jump was also my favorite, it also felt like some Mario galaxy vibes
Parachute cap also lets you scale up walls by wall-jumping off, using parachute cap to glide back on, then repeating, slowly gaining you more height
I didn't expect a video like this. Thanks!
In my opinion, it would be nice if you could equip two badges at once. The orange ones would be your primary badges and the blue ones the secondary badges. This could greatly enhance the experience with badges, creating a lot of cool badges combinations, and it would give the blue badges some utility. And the special ones unable to combine. I think Nintendo missed the opportunity here.
Agreed. I initially thought you would be able to equip two at once (at least two different types of badges). I'm surprised Nintendo didn't allow you to equip more than one badge if you've beaten the game. That way you can just explore to your heart's content if going for 100% completion.
I always thought that boosting spin jump was like Mario Galaxy! It’s by far my all time favourite Mario game and I’m so glad that people like the badge just as much as I do !!! Immediately fell in love with it ☺️
Honestly, I agree with most of the list (except Dolphin Kick, that take was horrendous, Dolphin Kick is top 5 minimum), but I would personally put Grappling Vine at number 1. It is EXTREMELY useful. Having trouble getting up a wall? Spam grapple against it, and gain infinite height. Great for cheesing. It's also extremely versatile. It can grab the end of the flagpole, and is great in most levels. I would say it's second in versatility just behind Boosting Spin Jump, but what throws it over the edge is...
It's really freakin cool, man.
Spam emotes while invisible to see your location. This should rearrange your listing to 2 or 3, making invisibility pretty useful in later courses with enemy heavy areas.
Maybe, but I still honestly prefer mobility to enemy aggro negation (which can be fixed by using nabbit regardless)
Invisibility badge does have 1 perk: Enemies that aggro by sight no longer do so, which can make some enemies easier to navigate around. Also, there's an easy way to see where you are while invisible: emotes.
Dude I’ve been waiting for someone to make this for so long. Massive W
haven't watched the video yet but this is my personal opinion:
action badges ONLY
(with explanations)
Parachute Cap #1
- [ ] This badge grants you infinite height and proves more versatile than the others. After reaching your desired height, you can still perform wall jumps and redeploy your Parachute Cap, enabling you to soar incredible distances.
Grappling Vine #2
- [ ] The quickest badge for ascending, allowing you to clear wide gaps, as long as your target isn't a semi-solid wall or a one-way platform. It has limitations when it comes to grabbing onto slopes and most ceilings, making it less versatile than the ParaCap.
Floating High Jump #3
- [ ] This badge also offers unlimited vertical height gain, although it may be the slowest of the three options.
Crouching High Jump #4
- [ ] A badge that provides decent height without a lengthy charge time.
Boosting Spin Jump #5
- [ ] If this badge refreshed after each wall jump, it could contend for the top spot. Regrettably, it doesn't, limiting its potential.
Wall-Climb Jump #6
- [ ] This badge is quite situational, not offering significant height but still usable in specific scenarios.
Timed High Jump #7
- [ ] It's surprising that this isn't a standard move in the base game; essentially, it's a triple jump.
Fast Dash #8
- [ ] The increase in running speed doesn't justify its use, and it doesn't enhance your acceleration.
Dolphin Kick #9
- [ ] A highly effective badge in water levels, but it is highly situational as there is a large scarcity of water throughout the game.
I agree with the Jet Run being so low. For almost every level, the Jet Run is just a nuisance, as it can cause unfair, cheap, accidental deaths.
The fluttering high jump.
The grappling vine.
And the parachute cap.
My 3 favorite badges!
But what would you say is the best out of the 3?
For me it's the fluttering high jump because it's simple and effective.
The Subscribe Badge
How Nathaniel felt about Boosting Spin Jump is how I felt about Floating High Jump. Just having a higher jump is nice in a game about running and jumping, and once I got that badge, I used it for almost every level.
I used the boosting spin just for most of the game so i agree that it's the best badge in the game 😊
I haven't taken off spring feet since I got it. With the drill you're able to dig and stay in place in some levels so it's pretty fun to do so.
Because of how much I used the parachute cap and how much times it saved me I couldn’t justify replacing it! The boosting spin jump would’ve been real handy if I hadn’t finished game already
I know you probably wont see this, but I've been a fan for years. I kove how you're willing to go absolutely insane in challenges and stuff. Sending you good vibes and wish you nothing but the best!
Parachute cap deserves to be ranked higher, it lets u do one sided walljumps indefinitely and can really save ur ass.
i was waiting for a ranking video for this game!
I immediately fell in love with boosting twirl jump too, i immediately gave up on every other badge most of the time and mainly that.
Next ranking should be the wonder seeds/ effects
The crouching high jump can reach the top as you can stand on the brick thing at the bottom of the pole
glad to see that the spin jump is at no.1 and i wasn’t crazy for it being the only badge i used for the rest of the game after i got it
GET R RANKED IS THE BEST SERIES.
12:28 Fun fact: if you have any power up except for elephant. You can stand on the stand of the flag pole and use high jump, to hit the top
For me the parachute badge is insanely useful as you can walk jump infinitely and is flexible anywhere
As of now I'm not too far into the game, (I only have about 8 badges) but can guarantee that the wall-climb jump makes the game so much easier.
3:11 The reason why this is actually really good is because it works even when collecting super mushrooms. So it basically gives you a tier 2 power up even when you're small. It's actually pretty useful.
7:42 Mario and Luigi actually use their legs to carry whatever their holding while using the parachute cap. It's really goofy looking, but it makes sense.
As a big fan of Super Mario Galaxy, I wasn't that big of a fan of the boosting spin jump. It doesn't give much height, making it easily replaceable by the crouching high jump (a personal favourite, as it allows you to easily access areas that are normal quite difficult to reach) or the floating high jump, and it just isn't really that useful, because it doesn't operate as an attack either. You can only do it once in the air, so it's definitely not the greatest. Floating high jump allows for one-sided wall climbs, while also giving great mobility, so just use that instead.
I literally had Parachute Cap equipped for 98% of my playthrough, it’s at my number 1 spot for sure. Just extending jumps made the game feel so much more dynamic for me. And it also helped a ton with reaching the top of the flag poles.
Good list! I used the Flutter Jump Badge for like 90% of the game. Though, the Parachute Badge was my secondary and can be very useful in a lot of situations. The Boosting Spin Jump one I did use for a few levels for some hard-to-reach locations and items. Basically, badges that give the player more airtime are definitely the most useful. Most of the other badges I didn't use unless they were required for specific level challenges.
Wall climb jump has been my badge for 80% of the game. It has so much more use than you realize once you get the hang of it. Meanwhile I found the floating high jump extremely inconsistent and annoying to use. It more often than not ruined my jumps rather than help.
“So you can’t spam wall climbing Like you can in Mega Man X”
Yes you can Bandy with the Parachute cap.
1. Go to a Wall
2. Jump at it and then wall Jump
3. Mario will turn to the left, after he turns quickly Look right and press R
4. Mario will be lifted upwards and just reapeat the steps and you can climb any wall
That’s how I 100% The Game
P.s Super Mario Bros. Wonder better than Sonic Superstars.😊
Boosting spin jump made me so nostalgic for Mario Galaxy. All it is missing is a Luma coming out of the hat after use.
For me Timed High Jump is the best badge in the game! Nothing beats how good the extra boost in speed and momentum feels, along with it feeling exactly like an upgraded triple jump.
I absolutely love the Wall Climb Jump badge. I often switch into it throughout my playthrough.
Grappling vine at 6 is insane
the parachute cap can also be used for infinite height like the grappling vine, which is pretty cool
Fun Fact:
You can actually reach the top of the goalpost with the Crouching High Jump. If you jump onto the bricks at the bottom of the goal, you just barely have enough height to reach the top.
24: Invisibility (A funny, but not pratical idea)
23: Coin Reward (Coins are kinda useful, but mostly boring)
22: Sound Off (A funny gag, but not very useful in the long run)
21: Coin Magnet (It’s oddly satisfying seeing all the coins swam to you)
20: Dolphin Kick (I hate swimming in Mario games over all)
19: Sensor (I never use this one, what’s the purpose?)
18: Jet Run (A bit hard to control, but this is a blast!)
17: All Fire Flower (Great. I get to use the least interesting power up in the game)
16: Rhythm Jump (Fun, Nobel idea, but completely useless)
15: Fast Dash (Thrilling, but you can do this without a badge)
14: Auto Mushroom (I use this one quite often, it’s handy)
13: Spring Jump (Jumping can be useful, but sometimes a hinderance)
12: All Drill Power (The Drill Mushroom is alright imo)
11: Timed High Jump (Fixes the lack of triple jump)
10: Safety Bounce (Great idea, I just prefer others)
9: All Bubble Power (The Bubble Flower is a great power up!)
8: All Elephant Power (I love getting the Elephant Fruit as a power up!)
7: Boosting Spin Jump (Another pretty good jump)
6: Add Exclamation Blocks (Adds a good bit of replay ability)
5: Crouching High Jump (A super useful high jump with little movement)
4: Floating High Jump (Luigi Flutter Jump: the badge)
3: Wall Climb Jump (I’m always frustrated when my jumps are too short so…)
2: Grappling Vine (One of the most op abilities)
1: Parachute Cap (I have so much fun using it)
the add ! block badge is also SUPER useful for getting the top of the flagpole if you're gunning for 100% because it usually adds a platform you can jump from to circumvent the bouncing off enemies that they usually want you to do (:
I like the slick editing style as of late
The boosting spin jump felt like Mario Galaxy physics all over again
I found crouching high jump to be my favourite personally. My brother liked it too
My favourite is the floating high jump because its one of the few badges that also allows one sided wall jumps
You can actually use the crouching high jump to get the top of the flagpole. You can stand on the bottom part of the flagpole if you’re careful and reach the top from there.
You can reach the top of the flag using the crouching high jump by standing on the bottom thing of the flag. (Idk wha it’s called) but I was able to do this on every level and it’s super useful
The all power ones can make mushrooms those ones so all of those disappointing times where you need a power up to get a 10 coin but just lost it and took damage again and now you just get a mushroom. Also, i personally believe it can be used in the second or third castle, or maybe even first, where you can see an area with 2 block gaps, but with only bubble flowers in the area
The boosting spin jump made me think of Super Mario Galaxy, so that along with it being very good instantly made it my favorite
Something you missed is the grappling vine can grapple on to the top of the flagpole! I used it when going back through the stages to get all the missed flagpoles.
The ducking high jump reaches the top of you jump on the edge of the flagpole base. It definitely helped me get too a few times.
12:15 you can actually reach to top of the flagpole with this feature, you just have to stand on the brick surface of the flagpole
