HAPPY NEW YEAR, DEAR DAVID. THIS WORK TURNED OUT VERY BEAUTIFUL AND COLORFUL, I LOVE IT, AND, YOU ARE RIGHT, IT IS KIND OF SICODELIC. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, YOU ARE THE BEST. GREETINGS AND BLESSINGS FROM 🇲🇽.
Thanks, I just watched BR Turner pour, wow! Thanks for pointing me to another artist 💜 It's one of my favorite parts about the pouring community, the support of other artists!
Love the new pour room. That was definitely a different way, I’ve not seen. I’ve watched a lot too. Thank you for an easier way to get the paint calculation. 😊
thanks for great and fun videos! When you mentioned keeping notes so you could go back and recreate pieces you like, I thought about marking the back with a sharpie with a corresponding number to your note pad. Just a thought! If not wanting to use Sharpie, use a little sticky "thingy".
Huge question. When doing black and white what turns out better with the consistencies of both? Rather they're they're same consistency, thicker white and thin black, or thicker black and thin white. Would really love to see you make a video on this or comment what you've noticed works the best. Thank you so much. Happy pours to you my friend
Those colors are just beautiful! I have always despised modern art (sorry), but I LOVE this pouring- The explosion of color just makes me happy. My chronically depressed best friend came over last night and she tried her first pour. She went home very happy!
That is awesome to hear. And I understand completely about modern art, especially abstract modern. Some of that is out of this world crazy and I don't understand it.
@@LeftBrainedArtist Totally agree! My house is like farmhouse/ thrift shop/ family heirlooms. Not sure what that decor is called, but I prefer farmhouse scenes, cows.... I will definitely be making room for a pour- as soon as I do one worthy of being seen! But, yeah, seeing my friend so happy and pleased with herself was so awesome. YOU got me started, so thank you! (I still have free spiders, just FYI) 🤣
Any tips for thorough drying in a reasonable amount of time? Considering in this example it's left to dry in a slighlty higher humidity setting than would be normal. Many thanks!!
Yeah, that just preserves the interior pour structure but you are absolutely correct. It woudl have kept so many lines from forming (although they are one of my favorite parts).
@@LeftBrainedArtist well now that you've done one without the flue extender I think if you did one with the flow extender it would also help you to have more choices in where you want to extend the lines and where you don't that doesn't mean that I remembered to use flow extender the first couple of flop cups I did LOL yeah I know nothing about that not at all LOL
Hey man - I haven't commented before but I love your videos and your realness. Quick question about the pour calculator on your site - when it says 7.7oz of medium consistency paint mixture needed for an 11"x14" / .75" depth canvas, does that mean by weight? Because when I switch to metric it says 33.6 grams which is far less than 7.7oz. It seems like the 'standard' calculator is by volume and the 'metric' part is by weight? I've been mixing by volume but want to start using a scale for accurate observations. Thank you
When you switch to metric you probably need to change the Height Width Depth because they are probably still in inches instead of centimeters. I just realized we don't clear the values when you swap to metric after putting them in. Thanks for pointing out that bug.
Just calculate the surface area in square centimeter and divide it by 6( better 5 for some extra). Now you have the volume of the paint you need in milliliter or cubic centimeters. The weight of mixed paint is mostly around 1.4gram per cubic centimeter. so when you multiply your volume of needed paint with 1.4 you get the weight in grams.
Thank you for coming by my page. To you it may of just been commenting on a short video, But to me it means the world. I hope one Day I can get to where you are, And maybe Someone will be writing me a message like this with tears in their eyes just like I am writing this to you. Thank you again.
Hi! Can I save leftover paint and how long does the paint that is mixed with only water or with both pouring medium and water last? (if you have a tight-fitting lid on e.g. the bottle you mixed in)
@@LeftBrainedArtist Thank you very much, have checked that video now and it was very helpful :) Now I don't have to waste a canvas just to use paint that has been left over. //Thanks from Sweden
I love listening to you! You’re the one who got me hooked on pour painting! So enjoyable!❤
Thanks so much Pam. Hopefully you don't get bored of me too quick. 😃
Beautiful design, thanks for sharing, love it.
Thank you so much Cindy. 😊
This is absolutely beautiful, I hope one day I’ll be able to do paintings like this.
You will. Never thought I would either. Just takes some practice and patience.
B. R. Turner's work is awesome!
It really is!
This is the first time I've ever seen this technique. The final result is absolutely gorgeous 😍
Thank you so much! BR Turner really makes it look so much better than me. Look him up on YT and Insta.

Feliz ano nuevo amigo!
Nice experiment ❤🎉
I like the way you poured it, something I hadn't seen before
You should really check out BR Turner on Instagram and TH-cam. His paintings are divine.

I love his stuff too! I tried the cake spinner moving and it started out great but then the yellow was too thin and got mud. Yours looks great!
Thanks for sharing! I think we all have that problem at one point Shelli.

You are so welcome! Let me know if you have more questions or suggestions to make the calculator better Colleen.
I love your vid! I couldn’t say on tv, so I’ll say it on my phone! Thank you!!!
Glad to help Jana.
So colorful, a happy painting 🎉
Totally a happy painting for sure Beverly.

I am not sure I've tried that with black and white but I could defintely do that.
I bet doing a flop cup with inference colors ( pearl red, blue, etc) would be fun on a dark background. This is certainly a fun style tho! Very cool
It is kind of freeing to really let nature take the wheel.
Wow well done ❤
Big thanks

Thankyou for your explanation sir.please tell me how much paint is to be used for each board.tq
I have a website to calculate how much you need based on your canvas size - leftbrainedartist.com/calculator
Any tips for thorough drying in a reasonable amount of time? Considering in this example it's left to dry in a slighlty higher humidity setting than would be normal. Many thanks!!
Dry: 24 - 48 hours for normal climates and 36 - 72 for humid.
Cured: 4 - 7 days for normal climates and 7 - 14 for humid.
And he always puts a flow extender around his flop cups I have binge-watched his channel as well

Thanks for watching!
Very nice! But I have a silly question, what do you use for the white paint? And is it mixed with Floetrol? Thanks,
I use titanium white from various brands (Liquitex, Artist Loft, Amsterdam, etc)
Love those videos ❤❤
Thanks my friend. It is a win-win cause I love making them . . . well minus the video editing. 😜

@@LeftBrainedArtist thank you for the clarification, it all makes sense now. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that.

@@blenkihops7631 this is all very useful info, I appreciate you sharing.
When you make up your colors, can you mix some and leave it in a pour bottle or do you make them all as you make a piece? I hope this makes sense.
You totally can Amy. I don't cause I am always experimenting but lots of people make big batches so they aren't mixing paint every time.
Random: Didn't you and Mr. Turner take part in a Fellas collab a few summers ago?
No, he didn't participate in that collab.
I've never made a mistake I don't know what you're talking about I know nothing about that at all😂😂😂
hehehe no never. 👀👀

Thanks so much!
That paint consistency was ok u should have stoped at first cup.. not enough white puddle paint
I'll keep that in mind.
Is this a rerelease video?
Yes. I put it out for 48 hours and realized the audio for the first 3 minutes were missing.
@@LeftBrainedArtist gotcha 👍 still love the painting 😂
