i'm sorry to be a pain in your backside but you have given me more info in 4 videos than I have gotten in the past 4/5 months of watching other people pour. You seem to be the only person who really wants to help beginners to figure out how to do this
It's hard to remember how it was when you started out. I'll admit I am a slow learning and my video are to help that information stick in my brain. I'm glad it is helping you. Asking for help isn't a bother nor a paint in my backside. It actually gives me more ideas for videos and lets the Pouring Nation community help each other out. Keep em coming.
@@LeftBrainedArtist Thank you. I'm sometimes slow with a new process in math. So for 100 sq inches it would need 4 oz of paint. 4 colors would be 1 oz ea or 38 grams. 5 colors would be .8 oz or 23 grams each. would this be correct? I am beginning to understand why larger amounts would be easier. I have some work to do to get more space. ;)
@@katrinacarnagey5298 You are correct. Be sure to test your paints. You don't always want equal parts of paint as the ones that have the highest tint strength and/or opacity will rule the rest of the paints. My video last week talks about some ways to combat that problem with paints.
@@LeftBrainedArtist I am so sorry for putting this on someone else's question. My computer glasses are not much good anymore. Anyway - thank you and I totally understand this is average and each paint can be different weights and strengths. Thank you!
David, you have made this simple for me. It is also nice to see how little paint is wasted. some videos I have seen make me cringe at the wasted paint, I know they say they scrape them up and use them later but if you can stop this by using your method there is very little to scrape. I have watched all 4 tonight and can't stop watching, probably watch them over again. I think I can be successful at this. Thank you David

This was an amazing tutorial and breakdown on how to get started. Wow! That's amazing! I like the flip cup variant.Thank you so detailed explanation. Most of videos just talk about gut feeling when mixing colours and technics, which is not helpful for me.
I am the same way. I need some structure. Also, small variants in materials actually makes a signficant differences for things like cells and how the paints naturally mix. If you have any questions just let us know here or on our website leftbrainedartist.com.
I agree with both of you. Process and info are critical for me. There’s nothing more frustrating at this point than going with my “gut” and ending up with a muddy mess!

I love the flip pour, I’ve being pouring for about a year now. Just learnt from your first 4 videos, where I’ve been going wrong.
Awesome. Let me know if there are any other question I can help with.
I think I just like the look & the way the color scheme worked out. I'm just getting started in this & I definitely have trouble finding colors that work together. I'm definitely not a left brain person but I do really like the simple explanations that you give they go above and beyond just watching a short video with no instruction
It can be hard to choose colors that work well together! Probably the hardest thing for me to do with Acrylic Pouring also.
@LeftBrainedArtist I seem to be having epic fails with color. But I am at least finding that I can paint over the ones I don't like and save some canvas
Hi, I like the right side best (invert & swoop), left side next (pinched lid pour), then the middle (straight pour). You make it look so easy. Thx. 😊
I wish I could say it was but if a non-artistic guy like me can learn, anyone can.
This video left me mesmerized. The pour on the right with the red cells looks very cool.
TY. These were fun to make.
I liked the flip cup the best. I've now watched three of your videos and I'm getting so much from them. You explain so well. Thanks.
Glad to help. Send me pictures when you start!
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I already have most of the materials, can't wait to attempt my first pour!
Can’t wait to see your successes.
I love the red in the flip cup!
It was a highlight for sure. So interesting how dark they went.
My favourite is the flip cup then the tree ring a distant second
Thanks Veni!
This video as well as the previous ones are so very helpful, thank you so much.
I'm so glad!
Your paintings make me so happy!
That might be one of the best compliments I have ever gotten. Thanks you so much Amanda!
I love the tree ring pour
Thanks Kim. These were fun to do for sure.
🎉 I'll watch your program for the first time yesterday got so excited and watched it several times more have a group of people that are going to be doing a pour painting and so I've given them all the sights so they can go and watch what they're doing and then we're going to try it and when we do we'll send you some of the pictures but I really like the way you teach is very very nice thank you
Thanks so much for sharing this with others. Glad to help Juanita!
I like the flip cup the best. Thank you so much for the science behind pours. Great info
You are so welcome Darla. Thanks for watching!
I like your flip cup the best. You see the most colors.
Thanks Marylyn. I was amazed how quickly the orange left and how dark the colors all went.
I love the second one.
Thanks Keith.
Tree Ring is best and I love your video's.
Thank you Annette! 😊 I really appreciate that.
I like the tree ring pour!
Thanks Jana. I loved this set of paintings. Crazy how the orange just disappeared.
I love how they all turned out but the flip cup was my favorite this time....I am going to try a tree ring pour this week though!!!
They are so fun and simple compared to other techniques. Good luck Tonya.
Love the middle one
Thanks Talitha.
I like the flip cup the best ❤️
Thanks Hildur.
I like the tree ring the best.
Thanks Mardi. I still have that one in my office.
I like the tree Ring pour the best thank you for your videos
Thanks so much 😊 Sherry.
@@LeftBrainedArtist your welcome thank you again
Thank you for this series! It's exactly the comprehensive content I've been looking for and as a fellow nerdy person I really appreciate the scientific and meticulous approach
You're very welcome Nafeesa. Glad it was helpful.
I love them all ! But the 3rd one is my favorite ! Thanks David you're the best teacher ever !
Wow, thanks Carole. Glad to be of service.
@@LeftBrainedArtist do you paint the sides of the canvas when you got a muddy look? Or you leave it as is?
I've been watching you today and have subscribed to your newsletter. Thank you for being such a great teacher and educating me in all the techniques and formulas etc. that other TH-camrs seem to not explain. I'm now off to complete my supplies and do some pouring over the Easter holidays.. Take care
Sounds like you're going to love it too Jackie.
I tried and I think I like the tree ring pour best. Thanks for showing me how.
You are so welcome Deb!
Wow. Amazing. Especially like the second one
Thank you Lisa. I have these ones hanging in my office now. It was interesting how the orange just disappeared.
Thank you for the clarity you bring to these methods. So many videos out there, some good at explaining, others not so much. You're up there with the best. Many thanks.
Thanks Hawk. I do really appreciate the feedback. I had a hard time learning way back when so I thought I'd help those that are more like me with a few videos for the more left brained people with specific steps and measurements. Thanks again.
@@LeftBrainedArtist Well I'm still learning all the time with some tries being more successful than others. Luckily I have two or three TH-cam clever people (including yourself) to guide me along. Thanks so much for all your videos.
Love all three, can’t believe 3 the same paints, but, poured different colors. Fav would be ring.
Crazy isn't it Georgann?
I love the one on the right.
Thanks Judy.
The tree ring pour is my favorite - though I'm not a huge fan of the colors chosen. But I've learned so much from watching your videos!
Thanks Carli. I chose too many for sure. And the orange just disappeared. Glad you find a nugget to help you in the future.
I don't think I can pick a favorite. As you finished each one, I thought, "Oooo ... I really like that one!!" I haven't tried any pouring techniques yet. I have most of the supplies I need either on hand or on order, except pouring medium. I will hopefully be getting started soon. I've often suspected that I have slightly less artistic talent than a turnip. But this looks like something I might be able to get the hang of. And I find myself strangely attracted to the various designs pouring can create.
I have very little artistic talent and I have figured it out Kevin. You can too!
I love all three of them it’s hard to pick a favorite maybe the first one with the big red cells I would choose as my favorite one! Thank you again David for help perfectly clear or you make all of these different methods! You are the best teacher I’ve seen! 😃❤️❤️👏👏
Thanks Joy. I really appreciate that. I did love all of these for sure.
I loved the flip cup! 😍
Still have this one hanging up in my office.
I've tried them all and still trying to perfect the ring pour and getting the right consistency.
I will definitely be watching the finishing video. I love the way you break it all down. Thanks so much. 😀
I hope your next one turns out amazing Suzanne. Good luck to you.
@@LeftBrainedArtist thanks very much. 😀
I like the one on the right....thank you so much for all your help..
Thanks Robin. They all kind of lost the yellow and orange as they dried.
I like the ring pour the best.
Thanks Suan. I still have these ones hanging up in my work room. They turned out so nice.
love the center pour
I still have that one in my office. 8)
Thank you, your videos are very easy to follow. Great explanations I have not seen or heard before which really helped me.
You're very welcome Betty.
