Overflowing water will flow along the glass walls to form a puddle in the middle of the table. This puddle does not belong to any glass... but the water of the puddle may be from any glass. This puddle was named the Sea of Quanta."
Fun fact: The MC has a 'canon' name, I say it with air quotes since it seems like Kafka chose them a new name judging from what Silver Wolf says, so their real name and current name might be different. Anyway for the female its Stelle which means Star and the male is called Caelus which means The Sky. So not too different from the Travelers names, and funny enough according to Cicero and Hyginus Caelus is the son of Aether and Dies (the goddess of day).

It sounds like the pecking order goes Path>Aeon>Emanator>Path strider. Aeons do not control their paths and are not gods of their paths, they just embody their paths so absolutely that they can draw a staggering amount of power from them.

if you look at Welt Yang's splash art, you might get a hint that Honkai Impact and Star Rail are somehow connected. At least around Welt Yang, and I pretty sure we might encounter Void Archives in Star Rail in the future.

Welt is 100% the same guy as in hi3, so yes the stories are canonically conected, Welt directly refers to the honkai in star rail letting us know that the events and characters in hi3 definitely happened in the same world.
Another manga I recommend to read to know more about Welt's past is Second Eruption. Even if the story doesn't revolve around Welt, it helps you understand a bit of his thinking, his determination and a bit of his power as a former Herrscher.

You should probably check out Homu Labs then - he's very much the English-speaking Honkai lore guru. I vaguely remember Ashikai saying during one of her livestreams that she didn't play Honkai, was only interested in the worldbuilding but not the story, and got all her knowledge second-hand. So she probably wouldn't be willing or capable of covering HI3 lore.
there needs to be a definitive timeline or comprehensive recap of the entire honkai story so far. kinda annoying that there isn't anything that goes into the full story out there at all

Just to point out honkai is independent from the imaginary tree.. its an arbitrator keeping the balance so that the tree and the sea wont devour one another..
Not only Welt, Void Archives (Welt's friend) is actually there also. Some characters mentioned it, even march talking about 'That person' who come eith Welt and Himeko to save her, and Himeko also mentioned about Welt's friend who left the Express long time ago
I like to think Pom-Pom is a reincarnation of sorts of Akivili, the trailblaze. They just appeared one day and even they themself don't know their own backstory.
I wonder if Genshin will ever get into the Imaginary element and would ever mention the Imaginary Tree. I honestly hope it does, even if we would have to wait after the main story ends to get that information.

@Yoimiya Some of the Intricate lore of star rail you mentioned had already been explained in Honkai Impact's recent chapters. Which puts OG honkai players a step ahead and better understanding in terms of how the hoyoverse cosmology works. Unlike for Genshin-Only Players whose knowledge is only limited to Teyvat. Making absurd assumptions about "Honkai 3 lore" just shows how shallow your understanding is.

In the recent Kafka's companion mission, Blade revealed that the trailblazer MC is a companion of Kafka for a long long time, and managed to live to tell the tale. And he somewhat added that Kafka seems to care for mc, for she'll do anything to keep the MC alive. I hope that you add this info on the next vid, and enlighten us with more canon information.

Since this is the beginners guide lore to HOS. I would just like to add that all this information is in the Astral Express Welt and Himeko literally have so much information to discover. Probably, Hi3 players will find it more enjoyable to see and read some Hi3 terms being mentioned along their lines. You can actually ask Welt. What his powers are and his “secret gravitational powers”. The most interesting one is his idea of what an Aeon is and how it compares his enemies back in Earth.
i will continue to fall in love with the idea of the Aeon of the Trailblaze, Akivili in the end to not be dead (or somehow is able to do such) and the MC will draw their gaze and get a moveset. Be the true Nameless for a second and finish the story by defeating Elio or something like that.

Having played both Genshin and Honkai impact extensively as well as the cbt of Star Rail, it feels like this game takes the best of both games. In my opinion Honkai has overall better story but Genshin has overall better lore. HI3 lore suffers from multiple retcons and general confusion as well as needless overexplanation with scientific terms while Genshin's story is...well it can be hit or miss. Star Rail seems to take the great sci-fi story of HI3 with the well structured/presented lore of Genshin and combines it into a fantastic space odyssey.

I have a budding theory about the Destruction. A forest or prairie fire is devastating, it's also necessary for growth and rebirth. Maybe destruction is needed in the universe for that next turn of thet wheel and the Destruction, for whatever reason, believes that to be a good thing.
I don't know if it was pointed out in the comments, but the place both versions of MC are floating in when you select male or female protag looks exactly like Sea of Quanta, so MC might be someone stuck in the Sea of Quanta and Stellaron Hunters have tech to access it.
Just a theory for the conception of Akivilli and the Astral Express by Hoyoverse/Mihoyo: The Astral Express is said to be created by "Akivilli", and looks almost EXACTLY like the 2nd Divine Key, the Key of Infinity named the "Cosmic Juggernaut" from the "Previous Era" (50,000 years before the "Current Era") of Honkai Impact 3rd's version of Earth. Cosmic Juggernaut's description; "Allows the user to create bubble universes in the Sea of Quanta. Capable of traversing through the Sea of Quanta and the bubble universes within." But on the point of the Cosmic Juggernaut is a DIVINE KEY. Someone we know created many of the Divine Keys... A Fire Moth MANTIS who stood at the end of Previous Era's civilisation, annihilated by the Honkai. Codename: HELIX, one of the 13 Flamechasers: Vill-V. Also, HELIX being DNA related, ALSO LOOKS LIKE TRAIN TRACKS. So I believe Akivilli is this bubble universe's Vill-V, like how Himeko, Bronya, Silver Wolf, Seele... Are all this bubble universe's versions of them. Another, WILDER point - IF AKIVILLI IS THIS UNIVERSE'S VILL-V there may be "more than one", or the Aeons themselves may be ALL DIFFERENT PARTS OF VILL-V/AKIVILLI. My Reasonings; In Honkai Impact 3rd, a side effect of her MANTIS surgery, Vill-V has the ability to split her mind in two. In theory, she could do so infinitely, but her brain power would be spread thin. As of now she has split her mind into 8 parts. This results in multiple "personalities", though really, they are all the person named Vill-V. Vill-V also has a habit of delegating each persona specific tasks and thus specific knowledge, which makes it seem as though she has multiple personalities. Vill-V’s various personas include The Conductor Vill-V, The Great Magician Vill-V, The Expert Vill-V, Flavorful Vill-V, Kevin Killer MK5, Vill-V Looking Down Upon The Stars, Pure Evil Vill-V, and Vill-V of the Helix. So Vill-V's concept taken to extremes as Akivilli would account for all the Aeons governing over one particular "path", and being renamed accordingly... destruction, trailblaze, Preservation, etc..
Bro. This game is actually so fun. I was getting super bored with genshin since i was farming non stop and it was so boring. And then star rail comes out and everything is interesting. Also hertas character design is what scara wants to be. God i love this game so much
So I'm not sure if anyone's said this yet, but in one of the rooms that has curio's on herta's station. You can actually find a whole ton of Easter eggs that mention honkai 3rd, and genshin impact, along with the "Scoring gun" from the prologue of the game
Should probably mention the uncanny resemblence the Trailblazer has to Nanook, might just be because they have a stellaron inside of them and their appearance takes on Nanooks form because of it.

What an awesome video. I was apprehensive to click, seeing as so much Star Rail content is overly cringe and clearly requires Honkai Impact knowledge, but you did an amazing job of summarizing a lot of this confusing stuff into a simple video. Definitely going to subscribe for more lore dumps.
The thing i personally love about Honkai: Star Rail, It's much easier to get trailblaze XP than in Genshin Impact and how even when you finish the main story [as of 1.0] you still have many things to do!
i'm really looking forward to a 1.0 lore recap! i regretfully rushed the first few hours of playing the game because most of my friends were already wayyy ahead of me since they were able to start playing the minute servers were up but i had to start much later. i'm a big lore person and would really want to understand what the gane's lore have to offer from A to Z but i don't really know where to start at this point T__T

In the recent Kafka's companion mission, Blade revealed that the trailblazer MC is a companion of Kafka for a long long time, and managed to live to tell the tale. And he somewhat added that Kafka seems to care for mc, for she'll do anything to keep the MC alive. I hope that you add this info on the next vid, and enlighten us with more canon information.

A certain vtuber , Yumie Tsuchinoko brought me here for HSR lore and I just wanted to compliment you on how easy this all was to digest, understand, and absorb! As a non-HI3 player, I was definitely worried about starting HSR because of lore concerns so being able to understand more of the world building and concepts behind the terminologies in-game were a massive help. Your voice was pleasant, tone was easygoing, and the editing was interesting!

Since this is the beginners guide lore to HOS. I would just like to add that all this information is in the Astral Express Welt and Himeko literally have so much information to discover. Probably, Hi3 players will find it more enjoyable to see and read some Hi3 terms being mentioned along their lines.
You can actually ask Welt. What his powers are and his “secret gravitational powers”. The most interesting one is his idea of what an Aeon is and how it compares his enemies back in Earth.
i will continue to fall in love with the idea of the Aeon of the Trailblaze, Akivili in the end to not be dead (or somehow is able to do such) and the MC will draw their gaze and get a moveset. Be the true Nameless for a second and finish the story by defeating Elio or something like that.
As someone who played the first quarter of this game half-assleep, the lore recap sure was helpful!

I am so hyped for Star Rail. Having played both Genshin and Honkai impact extensively as well as the cbt of Star Rail, it feels like this game takes the best of both games.
In my opinion Honkai has overall better story but Genshin has overall better lore.
HI3 lore suffers from multiple retcons and general confusion as well as needless overexplanation with scientific terms while Genshin's story is...well it can be hit or miss.
Star Rail seems to take the great sci-fi story of HI3 with the well structured/presented lore of Genshin and combines it into a fantastic space odyssey.
First video by you and you had me at lore and theory enthusiast to subscribe. Looking forward to both your older videos and future ones.

Thank you forr this,started playing last weekend. Love it so far but the amount of terms and groups being thrown around was daunting. This gave me much more context to continue on without read dozens of logs

I have a budding theory about the Destruction. A forest or prairie fire is devastating, it's also necessary for growth and rebirth. Maybe destruction is needed in the universe for that next turn of thet wheel and the Destruction, for whatever reason, believes that to be a good thing.

I don't know if it was pointed out in the comments, but the place both versions of MC are floating in when you select male or female protag looks exactly like Sea of Quanta, so MC might be someone stuck in the Sea of Quanta and Stellaron Hunters have tech to access it.

Just a theory for the conception of Akivilli and the Astral Express by Hoyoverse/Mihoyo:
The Astral Express is said to be created by "Akivilli", and looks almost EXACTLY like the 2nd Divine Key, the Key of Infinity named the "Cosmic Juggernaut" from the "Previous Era" (50,000 years before the "Current Era") of Honkai Impact 3rd's version of Earth.
Cosmic Juggernaut's description; "Allows the user to create bubble universes in the Sea of Quanta. Capable of traversing through the Sea of Quanta and the bubble universes within."
But on the point of the Cosmic Juggernaut is a DIVINE KEY.
Someone we know created many of the Divine Keys...
A Fire Moth MANTIS who stood at the end of Previous Era's civilisation, annihilated by the Honkai.
Codename: HELIX, one of the 13 Flamechasers: Vill-V.
Also, HELIX being DNA related, ALSO LOOKS LIKE TRAIN TRACKS. So I believe Akivilli is this bubble universe's Vill-V, like how Himeko, Bronya, Silver Wolf, Seele... Are all this bubble universe's versions of them.
Another, WILDER point - IF AKIVILLI IS THIS UNIVERSE'S VILL-V there may be "more than one", or the Aeons themselves may be ALL DIFFERENT PARTS OF VILL-V/AKIVILLI. My Reasonings;
In Honkai Impact 3rd, a side effect of her MANTIS surgery, Vill-V has the ability to split her mind in two. In theory, she could do so infinitely, but her brain power would be spread thin. As of now she has split her mind into 8 parts. This results in multiple "personalities", though really, they are all the person named Vill-V. Vill-V also has a habit of delegating each persona specific tasks and thus specific knowledge, which makes it seem as though she has multiple personalities.
Vill-V’s various personas include The Conductor Vill-V, The Great Magician Vill-V, The Expert Vill-V, Flavorful Vill-V, Kevin Killer MK5, Vill-V Looking Down Upon The Stars, Pure Evil Vill-V, and Vill-V of the Helix.
So Vill-V's concept taken to extremes as Akivilli would account for all the Aeons governing over one particular "path", and being renamed accordingly... destruction, trailblaze, Preservation, etc..

So I'm not sure if anyone's said this yet, but in one of the rooms that has curio's on herta's station. You can actually find a whole ton of Easter eggs that mention honkai 3rd, and genshin impact, along with the "Scoring gun" from the prologue of the game
Should probably mention the uncanny resemblence the Trailblazer has to Nanook, might just be because they have a stellaron inside of them and their appearance takes on Nanooks form because of it.

theres actually 2 characters that are the same as the ones in hi3! silver wolf is the same as haxxor bunny or bronie, a hacker from hi3. she hops from universe to universe!

The thing i personally love about Honkai: Star Rail, It's much easier to get trailblaze XP than in Genshin Impact and how even when you finish the main story [as of 1.0] you still have many things to do!
i'm really looking forward to a 1.0 lore recap! i regretfully rushed the first few hours of playing the game because most of my friends were already wayyy ahead of me since they were able to start playing the minute servers were up but i had to start much later. i'm a big lore person and would really want to understand what the gane's lore have to offer from A to Z but i don't really know where to start at this point T__T

Y'know, the fact that Blade recognised the MC as someone who used to follow Kafka around 24/7 (as he says in Kafka's companion quest) makes me wonder who the MC was before the stellaron and also how the hell Kafka and Silverwolf created the MC at the start 🤔
