I recently got a sample of Ambra Calabria, and it was love at first sniff. Definitely my next full bottle purchase. I've never been disappointed by anything from Nishane. Solid, solid house.
Having been badly burnt from blind buying, I always sample a decant first. These are the fragrances I sampled from Nishane and what I think about them, and what I decided to buy a full bottle of: 1- Hacivat. I already own a couple of Aventus inspired fragrances, so I decided not to get it. 2- Ani. I'm not a fan of vanilla on men. 3- Wulong Cha. I'm almost nose blind to it! 4- Fan your flame. I think it's more of a novelty scent. It's interesting to smell but not to wear 'not for me at least'. Same sentiment with 'By the fire place,' from Maison Margella. 5- B612. I loved it and I decided to buy it. I didn't have any fougere fragrances, so it served a purpose, as you like to say. Although it's a bit sharp, the lavender is so comforting.
Great rankings! I have a Nishane sample of Unutamam and I have to say the opening was a bit rough the first time I wore it, but love it now. I really can't think of an occasion to wear it, except around the house, just for me. I also recently picked up Afrika-Olifant, another favorite of mine. I don't really consider it animalic, although everyone else seems to. But my favorite is Pachuli Kozha, it's the most delicious scent I've run across all year, absolutely incredible!
So glad to see my personal favorite Nishane fragrance as your number one as well! Papilefiko is breathtaking and I knew from the moment I smelt it that I needed a full bottle
Fan your Flames is my favorite, fragrance 4life. I’ve recently tried Mana and Kredo, Kredo is Nishane’s take on Oud Wood with more cardamom and it’s really good and Mana is beautiful, looking to buy that one this fall. Hacivat Oud is soo bad to my nose. OG Hacivat is great. Need to try those X versions and Unutamam.
Two weeks ago I spent a good bit of time at the Nishane counter at Neiman Marcus and was able to sample most of these and a few others. Long story short: I came home with Papilefiko and Wulong Cha. (I considered Wulong Cha X but ultimately enjoyed the stronger lemon tea character of the og versus the magnolia floral overlay of the X version.) I'm really digging them both. I should note that I'm a fan of DesirToxic and own a bottle; some commentors say Papilefiko is similar to DesirToxic, but I only see a slight categorical resemblance. Papilefiko is more intense and sweet, with a really gorgeous punch while DesirToxic is softer and has a more complex, refined presentation of some similar notes.
Nice video. In my opinion, Fan your flames - Sultan Vetiver - Papilefiko - B612 and Hacivat are the top 5 in no particular order. Fan your flames is so great
From the Time Capsule collection, I have and adore Tero and Tempfluo. Tero has that spicy but sweet caramel and patchouli scent that I crave in cold weather. Tempfluo gives me the orange blossom and saffron brighness contrasted by the sweet praline that feels so special and classy damn near year round. Both are severely underrated imho. Papilefiko gives boss man vibes. Love this but too masculine for me.
@@StuTheSoftwareAnalyst yep traded mine too. I never understand the positive feedback it gets. I know we all interpret frags differently but it just isn't anything close to what people describe it as in my opinion.
Justin, I just smelled Papilefiko for the first time yesterday and it was love at first sniff! It was so good that two people asked me what I was wearing, one of whom wrote it down. It’s sooo good!
I've been on a sampling spree for the past couple weeks to try and find my scent . A lot of them have come from your recommendations (Vintage, L'Humaniste etc) but I realise I'm steering away from the woody scents but got blind sided by Nishane. I wasn't expecting to like it but Ege blew me away. I'll spend seemingly hours with my nose buried under my shirt when I wear it. I've also fallen for Wulong Cha X as well. Hacivat is also nice but not as good as the others but I'lll definitely be trying a couple more.
I am new to Nishane. Haven’t smelled that many yet. Out of the ones I have, my favorites are Papilefiko and Sultan Vetiver. Since I already have several scents in the same alley as Papilefiko, I decided my first buy would be Sultan Vetiver. I did not like it at first smell, but wow has it grown on me. Especially during Scandinavian fall/autumn when wearing an open flannel shirt and jeans.

I actually rolled my eyes when I read the title. How can you own 10 Nishanes!!! I am trying to hate here so don't take me seriously. I recall asking a friend to get me a bottle of Nefs from the UK...he screamed when he was saw the price tag over £400. Had to settle for a Doir Homme Parfum. I do look forward to owning Wu Long cha. Or Papelefiko sometime soon. Again great video.
Nefs: This is dangerous. It evokes pure sexual energy in me. Whenever I wear it, I feel like a hugry puma in a lush green jungle stalking my next meal. I have to be very intentional about the situation in which I choose to wear this!
I do not like fan your flames. Its definitely to smokey for me as it reminds me of the smell of my clothes after a campfire. I love wulong cha though very fresh and tea. It reminds me of a Chinese lemon tea
I will say I prefer the original Colognisé myself. It's more floral, more aromatic, definitely more in line with the classic "British" barbershop style. I will honestly never for the life of me understand Wulong Cha. All I get from it is bitter, astringent citrus. The tea note is completely lost to me. B-612 is probably Nishane's sleeper gem, though. So beautiful. My favorite Nishane remains... oh yes, I will say it... Afrika-Olifant... haha. 😅
Unutamam: Nope. Niet. Nunca. This is the essence of a luxurious cigar bar. But I hate the smell of cigars. If you enjoy that, this is for you. I could see this being somewhat attractive on a 50/60-ish y.o., distinguished, "man's man", rocking a solid grey beard, a velvet smoking jacket, and a wide-brimmed hat with an interesting adornment in it (e.g. a spade card, feather, or denim band). But definitely not something I'd wear. It leans very masculine. I tend to like leather and tobacco notes (a fav of mine is Penhaligon's Halfeti Leather) but need some sort of balance to introduce some sweetness. This just isn't for me. But will carry handsomely for the right person.
Would you say Nishane has a "foundation" fragrance that one should try before others to get acquainted with the style of the house, or not really? I suppose niche houses don't really put out "flankers" a whole lot, each offering mostly stands on it's own, eh?
The most popular fragrance in the community from them is Hacivat, and it could be considered a foundational scent. And more and more niche brands are doing flankers these days. It’s becoming more prevalent.
Nothing is beautiful about Unutamam. That is the worst fragrance ever. That's why it's number 10 on the list. I recommend for no one to purchase that fragrance.
I smelled fan your flames and I was drawn to it. It smells like cocktail drink on fire, never smelled anything like it. I wouldn’t even know where to wear a fragrance that loud and that attention grabbing.
