Nobody ever seems to mention Chris on the drums but he was a huge part of the Talking Heads sound. Always solid as a rock. He wasn't a fancy player but he was all about the groove.
no she's not. actually at this stage i'm starting to think she's over-rated. one thing that is for sure is that the "he/she is under-rated" comment is THE most over-rated comment on youtube

I was in a band with Chris Franz younger brother a year before this show. I saw these guys when they were nobodies. I loved every note they played. Amazing band.
I was also at this show...interviewed 27 seconds in talking about them making everyone think. One of the best of the many concerts I saw them do, probably about 20.
@@dynjarren8355 Sounds like you are a pumpkins fan. Darcy was ok and unfortunately succumbed to addiction and mental isuues. So sad. I like Paz style a bit more. Very melodic.
@@rman52 Yes, she even passed up the reunion tour because her therapist said it would trigger her back into addiction. So for her health’s sake and recovery, she passed on the tour. And that includes big money. While I’m sad to not get to see her together again with the rest of the band, she probably did the right thing. Your health is your wealth. Of course, she could have played one Chicago show at least but I guess not. I forgot to mention Paz plays a mean violin. She’s really good on violin. So she is talented. And she revived the Pixies 🧚♀️ and gave them a second chapter. I like the music they are putting out lately.
When they were at their best. In 1977, I dragged a small crew of fellow SUNY-Binghamton freshmen to "The Other Place", a very quaint club in Vestal, NY to see the TH. The band only had one record under their belt at the time. The joint held 50, or so, people from what I remember. We still talk about the show 40+ years later. They came back to campus after the second album was released and played our "Social Room", another rather small venue. Those were the days.
This is really beautiful. I saw them in 1977 and they were so much better live than on record it was untrue. It's really good that someone captured that incarnation of the band for posterity. Even better that it's on here. I love the internet....
fuckin' brilliant man, every time I think that surely *all* the Talking Heads material *must* be exhausted, something new shows up - I've seen most of these clips before, but a couple I hadn't - so THANKS !
this concert was on my birthday! man, i wish i could’ve been alive to see these guys live. i get a fluttery feeling in my stomach and a warm feeling in my heart when i watch them on video. my absolute favorite band!! thanks for posting
So happy to find this...I was there for two nights (were there more?) I was 17, took some great photos. Reggae Artist Dillinger opened which was fun. Of the fifteen or so times I saw them these could be my favorite shows.
Can anyone tell me about this Production? Who do we have to thank for a multi-camera shoot, with decent audio, of Talking Heads in 1978? Who had the foresight (and $$$) to capture this?

To me, they're just an average band with a mediocre, but unique sound. Nothing extraordinary. I'm stunned they had this many fans. Just my opinion which I'm entitled to. The comments below suggest they had a more amazing sound than what I just heard. Perhaps I just don't get it and had to be there.

Why, him and Tina are so tight, it almost like they are married.
They are married
@@jeffblack5024 They are the rhythm section. They just go together. What would TH have been without them.

I was there, I was 21. Stands out as one of the most memorable concerts I was ever at, up there with Thin Lizzie at Dalymount Park!
So you have not been at many good concerts, not a problem.
@SLANDERBOB I was talking (heads) to Karl... :)
Not to mention Genival Lacerda at Cu do Mundo´s Jurassic Park!!

Urban Verbs?
This band played my home town in 1978. I fell in love and they changed my life. Apart from that, Tina is badass.
How cool they were...
I love this band because they perform with such perfection they sound as good onstage as they do in the studio--even better!
This is some great early Talking Heads footage. Thanks for posting!!

Incredible stuff! You folks that post stuff like this are the main reason the Internet is great!
yes. even though the op is a douche.
Unbelievable audio and video production,..superb!
Tina Weymouth, my favorite female Bassist, EVER.
Tina doesn't use a lot of the notes on the bass but she sure is funky and makes their songs danceable. PS Who are the other fem bass players of rock?

(Damn that television, what a bad picture.)
They did several shows that week, I was at two of them. They were f**king amazing live, even as a four piece...
Wonderful and RARE!
This is the good thing, thanks.
What the Doors were to the previous decade in America, Talking Heads were to the 70's transition to the 80's for American music.
Little baby Chris Frantz! Wish I had a time machine...
Loved to see ppl of NYC back in that days , great rare video, Extra Band TH 🎶❤🙏4 upload

My favorite New Wave band of all time!
What a great clip!
I performed at the Entremedia too! It's now a multi-screen movie theatre. At least they haven't torn it down like everything else in NYC.
Great mix, bass is fat and out front, love Tina !
and tina what a legend! time and time again
The only working form of time travel back to 1978.
In the early days, people used to go nuts when Tina's fingers started to bleed. Now that is true commitment.

Comedia, locura y musica hecha en Talking Heads
FUCK YEAH great stuff I was 14 when this came out
Excellent
the first song reminds me of Down on the Corner by CCR
Totally! But Byrne doesnt scream as much as Fogerty
Agreed. Definitely has a Creedence vibe, which is odd because I’d have never imagined they’d have been an influence on this band.
Tine Weymouth is a bass playing genius.
She had a really cute butt then too. Just sayin' : D
A Genius of Love ✌️
She's also extremely beautiful, too!

Can a passing muso tell me what organ Jerry is playing there? Always loved its percussive quality on 'Take Me To The River'
Why did they only play for 20 minutes

she used pick in 1975 too
I skipped the entire beginning after the fourth time the guy with the microphone said *THE* Talking Heads.

What a great band! So much fun. The thing about hero worship for a band is fucking sickening. I'm glad that shit doesn't happen much anymore.
Oh you think it doesn't happen anymore? You should see Kpop fandoms, that's like band hero worship on steroids!
Tina is cute as hell.
what is the song being played before up until 1:21 ? Anyone??
