This kind of riding is why I laugh when people say you need a 1,000cc to be fast, track or street. Yes, a 1,000cc has faster acceleration and top speed, but let’s be real here: The bike doesn’t matter much at all until your skill is high enough. Check the fastest Isle of Man times and you’ll notice only a very minimal difference between the 600cc and 1,000cc lap records, and while different tracks or roads will show more advantage to the 1,000 because of longer straights and/or much more open turns, the difference between fastest laps is simply never as big as most people assume.
Yeah man, when I saw Michael Dunlop’s time last year (2022, set the 600cc lap record) on an R6, I was left speechless. The all-time lap record, set on an S1000RR, is literally only 4.4% faster than Dunlop on an R6. If you can find the clips, you should check them out, words can’t describe it.

I've had two R6s and loved them... But I no where near ride them to their limit.... Mine , definitely.
I always had a massive smile on those bikes.
Respect to both of those blokes😎😎
Sweet, just sweet watching. There should be more video behind the rider. It is just sooo cool
I think I saw the bike catch them up when the cars were slowed down by traffic 🤔
An absolute joy to watch the bike from that Leon! Damn that thing shifts to keep up with the 2 wheels with ease
