I fish a casting combo mostly but i must agree that my spinning combos have landed more fish when the fishing is tough. My son fishes only spinning combos and beat me most of the time. I believe that you should fish with the tackle you like the most and agree that the opinions of people doesn't matter. What matters is that you go fishing...

i dont care what other people think either. i bring my spinning rod and fly rod when i fish. i have put down my flyrod and used my spinningrod to cast flies out into top feeding trout in the middle of a lake when it was to windy to use my fly rod. hooked a clear float to my line and ran a leader off it to a black gnat. hook up after hook up and it blew the other fly fishermens minds who couldnt cast far enough due to the high wind. 😅😅
ive fished for trout in creeks with the same set up and with wet flies as well. copper john or some other sinking nymph suspended under the bobber.
      love my spimning rod.

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

I catch most of my fish on spinning gear, you just can't beat the numbers that wacky rigs and ned rigs produce. My favorite lure lately has been a ewg ned jig with a Zoom Fat Albert grub. Switching my 2 spinning reels to braid tommorow as well to see if it cuts down on my GF gut hooking with ned rigs.

I like using a spinning combo when fishing from yaks and from shore when I’m around flooded areas with trees and thick grass and reeds. My go to has always been 7’ with a Shimano or Daiwa spinning reel. My rod brands are mostly Dobyns or Daiwa. I feel you on the hate spinning gear gets from silver spoon “pros” . I recommend both spinning and bait casting. Just because someone uses a spinning rod does not mean they are a wimp or anything. Stop with the macho wacho stuff and grab a spinning combo. I used spinning since i was a kid and i have been known to out fish people that were using bait casters when i use my spinning gear. I love using bait caster too i find it fun and i like a challenge. But also love my spinning gear too. Spinning gear is so versatile you can pretty much do anything with them. So don't be afraid to use the spinning guys and gals who knows you could have one of your best fishing days using spinning over casting. And i love this video debo keep up the great work.

My old man only uses spinning gear, he has mostly only used "finesse" presentations. I can't say it doesn't work because he's got more 4-11lb fish than anybody else I talk to. Heck the guy has even caught a 40 inch Muskie on a 7' medium fast spinning setup with 8lb mono. It was a lot of luck/skill but I watched him do it. My setup is a dobyns 7' medium fast with a pfleuger supreme. It is always setup with a wacky, auger worm, or ned rig; and it is always on deck. Got to have the follow up lure ready!!

Most used would be the St.Croix Avid X 7ft ML 2 piece with a Daiwa Tatula Lt 3000 CXH but I changed the T knob to a I knob. Braid 15 Lb to yep 6lb red label! Easy to get threw the trails to the river. Only thing I would change is the micro guides on the rod!

I've been using 15lb braid to 10/12lb fluorocarbon and has worked well for me. Big advocate for a bass angler to have a spinning combo or two. Sometimes that's the only way you're going to get bit. Dropshot/neko/ned rig - typically one of those is going to net you a bite when nothing else will. Enjoy this IA heat, Debo. Looking forward to your next feeshing adventure!

I've had friends refer to it as "a fairy stick," but I caught a 5lb 3oz bass on a buzz bait- thrown from a spinning combo. Using braid is the great equalizer! I use baitcasters more, I like using them more also, but I will typically bring 1 spinning rod for when I need to slow down. I would add- when fishing around white bass: It's so much fun to tie on a white rooster tail & use the spinning rod. 5 or 6 of those can be a workout, lol.

1 spinning rod and 1 casting rod is all you need for most bass fishing.

Just got a Pflueger President Model 30 with a Falcon BuCoo (7' Medium/Moderate) rod running 15lb Power Pro braid. Love the setup for throwing light stuff!

Tried braid out this year on a spinner. Oh man the sensitivity it crazy! Even with a mono leader

YEAH This was very informative. I'm going to do one also I have slowly built up my arsenal over the past years. And I'm going to cover the difference in lines full Fluro vs braid to leader the pros and cons. THanks DEBO you always put out some awesome Content.

I have that same Lewis Custom paired with a
Pflueger Presidente reel. 10lb braid. 8lb mono leader and i love it for drop shots. I switched to those VMC hooks after one of your videos. Drop shot works. 👍🏼

Man I hated the spinning rod tell last year when I felt the fight on a decent size bass on one now I love it more than casting that pull is so much more fulfilling on a light weight rod versus just horsing them in on casting gear

I absolutely loved my spinning combos! However, after they were pilfered from my truck at a fuel station, i decided to go all-in on baitcasters and never looked back! This video might convince me to add another spinner to the arsenal!

I've caught my pb smallie on a spinning rod and it held up just fine there's nothing weak or sissy like about a spinning rod, 4 lbs 5 oz just so you know

I bought a Lew’s Lazer pro the red reel in 300 size and I loved it so much I went back and got another one for a second setup and I got them on sale for $25 each, great little reels and they are 10 bearing reels! 6.2:1 ratio

Personally I have a 7ft med shimano slx paired with an Okuma slx... 10# yellow super slick power pro.. friggin love this combo! Although I use an fg knot (unless I have to retie while fishing) because I will use a long enough leader that it will go into the reel but dont have any issues ( only fg).. But a spinning combo in ur arsenal is priceless.. many times I missed fish with a t-rig and followed up with a wacky on a spinning combo and got that fish💪💪

I had a Shimano Sedona 1000 reel on an old rod and put it on a new Shimano Sensilite light power rod for brook trout. It worked great for that. I normally would use a medium rod for bass, but I tried the same combo for smallmouth this year. Wow, so much fun with the smallies fighting with that super light combo! Weightless wacky rig, braid to leader with double Uni knot.

Honestly for budget spinning reel under $100, can't beat the Pfleuger president. Most are $50-60, definitely worth it. They do run larger than shimano or daiwa. They were reels I used for decades before I could afford higher end reels. For $18 you can upgrade the drag to carbon fiber and make it even smoother

Great Video sir! I mainly use a baitcastor. I do use a spinning combo for th4 light stuff. I use straight braid but thinking of adding a leader.

Spinning gear is a must for the exact reasons you mentioned. I like at least a 7ft medium to medium/heavy fast action, with a size 300 or even smaller reel. I often fish weightless Senkos in the Crazy Thick Pads, and the spinning gear gives me that extra distance I need to hit those few open pockets, and using rods that are quick to the backbone I can get good hook sets, and have muscle to pull the fish through the gardens they collect on the way in. I have considered a BFS reel, just wondering if the limit spool capacity would be a problem for my style of fishing.

I have three spinning rods on my deck. If you're looking for a good light and sensative cheep rod try the lews Hank Parker rod at Walmart for $39.99. It's 6-10 medium action. I have two lews reels a 20 & 30 series like yours and a Abu Garcia Revo 30 series on the lews rods loaded with 15 lb. Fire line plus 6-10 lb floro. I throw Shakey heads, small crank baits like a 1.0 square bill and sr5, and drop shot.

I have three spinning rods I use every time I'm out. They also double as walleye rods too. (I have several more, but they're specialty rods such as panfish/trout set ups and inshore saltwater setups) They consist of a 6.8 M XF st croix, a 7.3 M fast st croix (both victory series) and a custom built 7.1 ML XF rod that my buddy built me with a north fork composite blank.... equivalent to about a Loomis GLX. All three are amazing. And I use all three very differently. All three are paired with 3k size piscfun carbon x reels, which is by far the best bang for the buck spinning reel I've ever found, and yes, even more so than the tried and true Pfleuger president.

Man i tried the little Drop Shot setup on a spinning Rod for the first time with great success lol. I started using a version of the Drop Shot-weight setup 40 years ago for Catfish and it’s absolutely nothing new but extremely effective in a downsized form lol.

I broke down and got a victory too! I got the 7’2” MH moderate and it’s quite possibly the lightest casting rod ever. Never spent more than 130 on a rod but I had to do it cause I love the BassX
