One of the most fantastically enjoyable and hilarious movies in memory. There's a tinge of Tarantino about it, and an undeniable cult classic
I like how a Russian T55 transported itself back in time into German hands.
Sometime you gotta make do with whatcha got. All quiet on the eastern front the scene with the St. Chamonds was done with the lower half’s being BMP-1 tracks and transmission.
@@dmitris.479 Atleast the makers of "All Quiet...." made a commendable effort to replicate the St.Chamond.
@@Floreal78 something tells me though the logistical effort of trying to get a Panzer IV, Tiger, Panther, etc. might not have been cost effective vs using some stockpiled T-54’s or T-55’s considering over 30,000 of them were built so no lack of spare parts. Not to mention to the untrained eye and the not so historically apt viewers all they see is a tank that’s more than likely going to get blown up in the film.
Saw the movie... they were retreating from Russia through Finland. Must have captured or stolen the tank.

@Ordinary Nobody really cares about ''historical'' accuracy as this movie is made up, although there is lot of actual history used in plot. Average consumer can't tell the difference between tanks.

OMG , the scene when he hooks the German to the bomb and drops it , I just about lost it, laughing ... If you want to see one man get even with what seems the entire German army , this is it . Great film...

The germans were know to capture and use russian tanks later in the war. They were easier to maintain than german panzers.

To those lamenting the technical inaccuracies for this film. As a Canadian Finn I am sure it was due to budget constraints. I do not think the producers anticipated such a favorable reaction to the film. All the correct armor is in operating condition and in Finland. Let’s wait and see when ( and if) a prequel is made. I think you will see some good stuff. Check out the clips for the “Unknown Soldier 2017”the Finns used real explosives for their scenes and all the proper tanks. Enjoy Finnish Militaria history. I was surprised to see how movie had drawn people to know more what happened on this war front.
The correct armour ffs. It was a T-55 with a 12.7mm on the top. Anti-tank mines which go off when a human treads on them. Dogs that have obviously had their olfactory nerves, optic nerves and barking devices removed. 12.7mm bullets that cannot go through a human at 100m. Panning tins that act as bullet magnets and bullet deflectors. A 7.92mm mauser will penetrate 9mm of steel at 100m - effing heavy panning tins.
Budgets constraints - what did they have $4.68? Hope they got a $6.00 rebate?
I was a little miffed that Starship Enterprise and a nuclear sub didnt turn up. Nobody would have noticed.
@@csjrogerson2377 it reminded me of the movies in the 60’s which had all sorts of erroneous equipment. It is not a documentary just a kickass good time. As mention I think a prequel will have more correct equipment.
Let's just pretend those soldiers looted the equipments.
it's not supposed to be historically accurate anyway so i really didn't mind any inaccuracies. it's one of those movies you just sit and simply enjoy the mindless violence. seeing nazis getting murdered will never not be fun lol
@@csjrogerson2377 I absolutely loved this movie and yes there are inaccuracies like the shiny new pliers and the not so old CGI Douglas C-47-Dakota or DC3 whichever it is and the GMC two and a half ton 6x6 truck with the bogus hood and Mercedes desiel badge. I just see it all as prop's and don't let it ruin an awesome movie.

Just watached, it's an ok movie.. but believe me when they did not take any care in believability. It's like they just want the main character to be on top because if not it would mean that the germans are being rewarded. Cheap stuff fr. "yeah we mined with all the mines sir, that's why people are exploding everywhere (proceeds to use the ladies to clean the field on the literal road and none of them explodes)", also.. "I'm gonna point my gun and stay here for a whole minute laughing cause I'm evil", or the "let's send some of our soldiers through the mine field, cause there is no difference of us and the URSS"

In a nutshell, being conquered by Stalin was considered much worse for them than being an (temporary) ally of Hitler, so they chose the lesser of the two evils. In addition, the thinking was that being allied with Nazi Germany would help them to win back territories they had lost to the USSR as a result of the 1939-40 Winter War.
Question the Finns all you want, but the Finns were caught between a rock and a hard place.
Regardless, before the Ukrainians, it was the Finns who kicked Russia’s @ss.

Your comment is right on. Germany screwed Finland in the Ribbentrop agreement prompting Russia to attack Finland. After the Winter War Finland was isolated from the Great powers and knew Stalin would attack again. They agreed to German troops crossing Finnish soil. Finland did not agree with Nazism. But it did give protection for a time period to their country. Finland was fighting for Finland, not Germany. In summer 44 Finland repelled and destroyed divisions in the summer heat(not just winter time). Finland made overtures of peace to Stalin. Stalin had three armies locked up fighting in Finland so he took it with harsh demands. Germans were told of this and told to leave . Finn’s would act as a buffer on retreating troops. Germans had other plans and burned and mined Lapland when falling back into Norway.

Все заметили что танк этот Т55, но тут еще есть и ДШК. Немцы в костюмах таких, будто чем бомжовее и БДСМнее выглядит немец, тем выше он по рангу... Типа особенно на снайпера и Командира фашистов видно,
