Closed Kmart in Avenel, NJ

This Kmart location closed down in April 2022 and opened up in October 1979. Not much was visible thru the front entrance, although I got a better look thru the garden center door. Hope to see something put into this place in the near future.

My childhood Kmart closed last year in Kearny and it made it to 40 years

There's still another open Kmart in Westwood, NJ that I filmed in August 2020. Don't know when that one will close down though, I will film it again when it's closing and closed for good

Noooooo! This Kmart was my childhood store I used to go here a lot with my parents I first went here in 1989 and the last time I went here was 2022 I’m sad to see this Kmart close one of my favorite stores!

That's the usual case for these old school looking Kmarts, they were either opened during the 70's or 80's

Yeah it's a shame, there's only 3 Kmart stores left open in the United States. I will be filming the Bridgehampton one hopefully at the end of this month when I make my trip again to Montauk!

I live in Detroit, Michigan. I, worked for Kmart from 1985 until 1996. The, Kmart Store, where I worked at was located in Mt.Clemens, Michigan. The Kmart Store, where I worked at was built in 1967. In, the S.S.Kresge Co. /The Kmart Corporation. The, Kmart Store Closed Permanently on Sunday, May 8,1996.
I, remember Kmart was a big red "K"and turquoise Mart. That,is an old school Kmart 🏫.

Behind Rickels was an abandoned asylum me and my friends would go in about 1990-1991. Little fun nugget of info.

I remember Rickel Home Center, there used to be one in Pequannock, NJ and now it's a TJ Maxx and HomeGoods

I use to work there so did my mom and my sister at one point. Grew up in that store basically :/ I hate Walmart I wish kmart was still there but the company went down hill ever since they bought sears

There hasn't been any new Sears closures for a few months now
All of the recent closures were just Kmart
