We just got the duo and after using first time I removed the ring for washing , but it was not easy to reinstall it. My wife actually thought the lid was bent. Finally got it back in but I think a lot of folks just wash the lid with the ring in it , and only remove it if you have a problem like not building pressure. Good video thanks
Merry Christmas! BTW, I just picked up the Duo SV at Costco for a song, and did my first Sous Vide with it. After testing with eggs and calibrating (seems to be a couple degrees low at the 130 mark) did a SV strip steak, ate half, then today reheated it in the Duo SV again at 132 F and best reheated steak ever! Probably will acquire a SV immersion heater for bigger jobs, but the Duo SV does the job for small meals.

I got a used Instapot, but I’m not sure which one it is. My friend said it was missing its red ring. I haven’t used my Instapot yet because I don’t know anything about it and am concerned about using it for that reason.

Safety tip: Steam diverter #1 - I recommend the T be parallel vice perpendicular to the top handle. I can't really see how that diverter vents, but if my guess about that is right, we wouldn't want vented steam superheating what we might be tempted to grab bare handed. (Also, you look a little young to have sailed on the USS Tracy. ... that's a joke between us sailors, shipmate ... I got a DD-214 too)
This is my new favorite kitchen tool! I love that versatility! The sauté feature works great and adds tons of extra flavor to dishes, and I can easily sizzle meats in the bottom then deglaze for some restaurant worthy flavors.Big bonus - you can cook a whole frozen chicken in about 2 hours. Amazing! I've seen a couple videos, haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!
I honestly cannot see what you’re doing. There is a recessed edge that looks like to fits into the rim. But you’re just plopping it in and it fits. Nawww.
Hi there. Very you have the correct size 6qt or 8qt. The inside of the silicone ring has a groove. The groove should rap around the solid ring on the inside top of the IP. Hope this helps

Is there a certain direction the ring should be facing? ( His do I know if it’s upside down? There are grooves toward one “side” of the ring.
The grooves should face the outer ring.
