Looked like a great trail with an even better view. That landscape is incredible. Bonus points for making use of the tables too. Great video yet again man.

I was stationed at Nellis in the early 80's. We used to ride our motorcycles through Red Rocks. It was a great time of my life.
I have a 1st Gen CRV and this trail is picknic compared to what they can handle.
CRV 2000 manual 4x4, still with 90% of original parts and recent tune up says it's in perfect shape. No modifications. All original.
This video makes CRVs look like toy cars, and they're not. They can handle way more than that.
I don't mean "destroy your car", but this is no good reference of their capabilities. CRVs are awesome. If you are thinking about getting one, go for it; cheap in gas, parts no so cheap but they last for years if you go original, confortable and AT.
I really enjoyed the scenery and it looked to be a fun trail and a fun day for everyone.
CR-V tables for the win! :D Protip: cut a piece of 1/2 inch plywood the exact width of the gap left behind when you take the table out, and then you have support for your stuff when you pull the table out.
That's a good Idea. I'll have to do that so I can still use the trunk space

THIS is what it's all about! Nice to see friends and family having a great outdoor adventure. CR-V's for the win! Since y'all are from NV, you should do the Black Rock desert area at the north end of the state. It's awesome as well. Keep having fun!

Reminds me of Ft Bliss TX. We drove right through all those plants with our M1's, M992 and our M109 it was crazy.
I live in Missouri and my aunt used to live in Vegas. When I was younger and single, I would go out to visit her there often and we would go hiking out in that area. Some of the best times I've had. I just recently picked up a 99 CRV with a blown engine. In the process of putting a new motor in it then it will be my cheap daily. Hoping for some fun road trips/camping trips in it with my son. Maybe we could plan a long trip and head out to that area and put the real time AWD to work!
Looks like some good fun. I'm excited to get my CR-V out and adventuring!

@@Anchor7 honestly I havent had any issues with ground clearance. Then again im not rock crawling or taking it on any crazy trail. These are fun "softroaders".

That's so cool, I was just in Vegas and went out to Little Red Rock to do photoshoot. I just got a 2011 Honda Pilot 4WD and wanted to do some offroading but i'm not familiar with the trails there. I'd love to join you guise next time you do something like this.

Waiting for the wife to get a new car, so I can play with her 2010 CRV. All it needs is 1" raiser and beef up the suspension with sumo coil springs. Oh and some knobby tires and steel rims.
These are the perfect trail for a Cr-V they are designed for snow roads so taking them along a stone road is perfect. These things aren't Jeeps, but they will still run down some sort of road with ease. They're not mud boggers, but they do alright in the correct situation.

Love the video first time I’ve seen anyone off-roading with Honda CR-V but I noticed yah didn’t air down the tires it would’ve have yah more traction but keep it up love the vids tired of seeing Jeep wranglers lol
Picked up a 01 blue 5 speed awd for $1000 before that had a 00 red auto AWD once you go rd1 crv you don't go back 😂

@@Anchor7 They aren't much for offroad. I love mine for the reliability and utility. I have an old Suzuki Sidekick that is far better for offroading. No comparison.

@@Anchor7 Well these years of CR-V are really the pinnacle of reliability. I have had mine since new and its been amazing. The Suzuki is a 1994 and has been in my family since new as well. The Sidekick has been very reliable as too, especially considering all of the off road abuse. The thing is the Sidekick/Trackers are getting old (1990-1998) so that becomes a factor. If you just want to do what the guys in the video are doing the CR-V is great and dead reliable but if you want to get into the mud and tougher trails the Sidekick Trackers, Samurai's, 4 runners and Jeeps are the only way to go. The difference is huge.
Need to hit that trail soon.

Wow.. CR-V's are awesome! When did these cars become so popular in light off-roading and overlanding?
Since they became so cheap. You can get a 130k - 150k CRV with all of the important stuff good (maybe some leaks because they are old) for 3k - 5k. That’s money you could easily earn from a side hobby or gig. I recently got mine, it’s stock but god damn it fulfills my every need.
I know CRV doesn’t stand for this, but it really is a compact RV.

I just bought a 1997 cr-v. Looking to get out and enjoy these trails. Looking for do's and don'ts and local like minded people close to knotts berry farm / Disneyland area.
There's quite a bit of people out there with crvs that do meets and trail rides. I would follow @papa.reyes_ and @socalcrv on instagram. Those are three two that I've seen have been the most active as far as meeting up for rides

Check out the Falken WildPeaks. There are also several other tires that perform better and are cheaper than the BFG. Do you homework.
I have a 99. What coilovers do i get? I want to get the hrg 1.5/2 inch lift. with 235/70r16s. Im just not sure what coilovers.

Are you still running sway bars? i heard the emu springs are stiif enough to remove your sway bars with minor affects
Hunter Nield I still got the sway bars on. With the stiffer bilstein shocks the ride is pretty stiff
@@KevinP I removed mine yesterday and have had a much better time off road, i had to cut the front bar out, but the articulation is much better, and the old man emu springs hold the ride really well

So far I have old man emu springs, bilstein shocks, hankook mt tires, snorkel off of a land cruiser, ebay roofrack, ebay awning, cheap amazon led lights for roof rack, and I think that's about it

Can you be more specific about the parts? Is it lifted or just upgraded components? I'm just starting to get into off-roading and would love more details about what you did to make sure your vehicle could handle it.

@@mikerettig4445 old man emu springs are lift springs and the bilstein shocks are upgraded stiffer shocks to help with the sag in the rear end.

They are awd. No club just a couple friends with crvs. Is yours awd ? Any modifications done to it?

Is Honda CRV 4wd better than Honda Element 4WD system? or they are the same?
They use the same system. The 02-06 CRV and the Elements are mechanically almost identical. Same engine, transmission, drivetrain, etc.
do you think a fwd CRV will make up there?
Yeah it was a pretty easy trail overall. The only step part was where the green crv lifted the rear wheel. As long as you keep up your momentum there shouldn't be an issue getting up the hill

The 2nd Gens, bigger crvs are the 2.4, the smaller 1st gens are 2.0

Did you have to modify anything to fit the larger wheels? Thinking about selling my EF right get an RD1.
On mine I had to trim some of the bumper and the pinch welds because of the offset of the wheels. On my brothers he just had to fold back the pinch weld in the wheel wells so they wouldn't rub when turning
