You should be very proud of what you’ve achieved! I love the interplay of light and shadow throughout your work, but the way you have brought these to life through your colours is beautiful. I love both the first and the last painting. Very well done.
You're amazing dude so happy for your solo show! Been very cool to see your progression. I really like that "night shift" painting and all of the lost edges amongst the chefs. Keep crushing it
Thank you so much for posting this Christina! And congratulations on pulling all of this together. What a beautiful show! I love seeing your work on a larger scale… such a change from the daily paintings and work en plein air! The lost edges of Night Shift made my heart sing… it’s stunning!
I love this. I saw a blurb somewhere else about your art and this showing. Your sense of colour is great. Very reminiscent of Hopper and the palette of colours he used.
I love all of your paintings! The lighting, mood and mostly SF characters/scenes that I am so familiar with, that have often struck me dumb with their beauty...and you have captured those moments.
Hi Christina, thank you for taking us along your Solo Exhibition through the virtual tour. This is an excellent show, its so inspiring. My favorites are probably the first in the park, the twilight view on the bay (where the light is reflected in the windows), the one in the dessert, the last train, and the night shift. Very well done.
Beautiful show congratulations. I think the one in Rome is my favorite the way those twinkle lights are laid in sets off those warm tones of the outside lights. Gives it that intimate feeling that's do prevailant in Rome in those pre dinner hrs.
You are very talented! I very much enjoyed this tour. If I were able to buy (dreaming!) the painting with the beautiful trees, it would be hanging in my living room, just a wonderful thing to look at, best of luck with your show!!
My favorite would probably be the one of the grass with all the shadows. because that happens to be one of my favorite things when the grass turns lime green and sometimes yellow in the brightest points and deep blue shadows. its something i hope i will have in my landscapes one day if i pick up a brush. so i really liked that painting in particular. Because i could see how i see in it.
@@christinakentart it is such a magical thing. when you sit on a nice summer day and just see it change color. its magic. You are doing lovely things Christina.
Congratulations! Lovely show! I love the way you simplify your scenes and only paint what is necessary for the story you are telling. I know artists spend so much time learning that and it seems to come naturally to you.
Congratulations Christina! You transported me to the time I lived in SF (partly in Potrero Hill). You create an amazing atmosphere with your paintings.
Hello Christina, I hope that after all the hard work you are pleased. I think you've really done a great job, and you wouldn't think it was your first solo exhibition. You've done some wonderful paintings there and I'd find it hard to choose one painting out of them. I hope you got some good feedback from those who have seen it in person. All the best, John, south of England.
Hi Christina~ Your gifts for speaking about your work and the other issues you address in your videos are just superlative... A technical question: Do you use photo references for your painting, and if so, could you briefly describe how? Many thanks, Christina! All the best, dan
Oh thank you! Yes, I often work from photos, especially for my large paintings. When I take photos, I try to edit the color and contrast in the moment to match what I’m seeing. Then when I go to paint later, I edit the photo in procreate, often removing details to simplify the image. As I paint, I don’t copy the photo exactly, but use it as a general guide, and listen to what the painting needs.
Spectacular! Beautiful work, I like the last painting best.
Thank you!
This series reminds me of Street Photography. It’s the light and shadows that catch the eye. Beautiful work capturing the feel of those scenes. 👏
Thank you! I'm very inspired by street photographers :)
We're so impressed! The amount and quality of work is stunning!
Thank you Blick! :)
Absolutely incredible! Keep painting.
Thank you!

Really enjoyed Night Shift. Love the loose feel, use of shadows and light. Thought I was at the Met viewing an old Dutch master..
Aw thank you!

Congratulations! I like the theme.

It's beautiful work and highlights what I love about the transition from light to dark when colours separate and become more dramatic
Thank you!

Thanks DeVerne! I love that one as well. The effect you talk about, with the grass turning lime green, it's so captivating!

I love you, come to Costa Rica
Nice show Christina . That’s Edward hopper not David hopper;)
Thank you! And good catch! I can't believe I said that. Maybe I mixed up Edward Hopper and David Copperfield 😂
whoa....Hopperesque ???
Thank you!
