12:08 “All my life, until now, when I was sleeping I was looking at the curtains. Now I sleep, and I see the stars. That’s the house for me.” That’s such a beautiful way to put it. The house becomes such a natural part of the landscape that you feel protected while living with all the earth as your home. 18:26 Was also very interesting that the banker would call it a “vanity home.” Only because every home deserves to be a vanity project; it is after all one’s home. A home that would not be a vanity project feels like it would just be a dwelling for little savage animals.
The alaska home. Woow loved it. The owner has taste for sure! Love the greek home too. Oh my gosh! The architect did a phenomenal job. I really enjoyed when he share about his view of architecture. The idea to compose with the nature .... ❤
I love the Alaskan Waterfront house. I live in a bungalow with huge patio doors that close to the sea in Wales, and I swim all year round. You have included wonderful elements in this beautiful home which make it feel like part of the landscape.
the 'vanity' house certainly is captivating. However, one possible problem is location that close to the sea when the projected earth shift really begins.
Thank you, For Sharing your Experience with Building and, Choosing Your Homes., You all have Gorgeous and, well Build Homes., Soon I will Build a Home very Much similar., Great Work WSJ., 👏🏾🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾⭐️🌟💎👑👍
The first/Greece house, the long continuous dining and kitchen island combo was stunning to look at but very impractical; there is no dashing to the other side to grab a spoon for your ice-cream, by the time you got over to the other side and back, the ice-cream would have melted 😆
That Star Trek home is beyond my dream - and I live in a fairly incredible place. Imagine that over the California coast. Dining on glass over a swimming pool? I’ve even thought of doing my ceiling with the arms from Creation of Adam. It was just made for me.
@12:19 I would just like to confirm that she has the most beautiful kitchen in Alaska. What lovely style, this is the kind of excellence I demand for all. She has a second future in design if she wants. 🤔😁❤
What a beautiful clutch of homes..so much to be inspired by..life time dreams fulfilled thru imagination and empathic architects..thankyou for sharing these amazing locations..❤
The fact that many of these only cost around 2 to 3 million to construct is amazing. In most metropolis cities in the world that'd only get you what is practically a 70 year old shed on a sliver of land.
My favorite is the Castle in Scotland . Incredibly beautiful . I also really like the Central Washington Cascades house and the Charlotte, NC in the woodland house . Both had incredible views and felt like being in a vast tree house . The Ketchikan , Alaska house has such a beautiful setting and Ocean views . Seeing stormy weather roll in must be thrilling and peaceful 😌 . I love Classical and Traditional Architecture , especially historic , but I also like modern when done right with amazing views and settings . I'm in awe .
This video I will keep saved for inspiration... so many incredible projects. I haven't seen all of them yet, but what a dream this Fort Worth in Texas...every space there is perfect. Full of beautiful and interesting art and books. Modern castle with a wise owner. Even his braided ponytail is perfect. :) l Greetings from Prague. I am letting my 1930's flat to rent an apartment in a16th century palace near Charles bridge. Its unpractical and a bit dark, but I love it.
WSJ Mansion’s coverage of yurt-inspired homes, mini-castles, and other unique residences provides readers with a window into the world of extraordinary real estate, showcasing the creativity, craftsmanship, and lifestyle associated with each featured property.
So much work going into that Scottish castle and it not being handed down to generations of the same family sort of makes me sad.😢 it’s also sad to think my dinky 4 bedroom house in London cost more than that castle
I ordered this exact mount a couple days ago after discovering it from that fitness TH-camr video review on it. Now the algo brings me here to the mount’s designer creator. Amazing! Can’t wait to receive the Mount and use it. Keep up the work, subscribed!
How did I get here ? Unaffordable mansions. The words Star and Trek made me do it, that's what caught my attention. But all the same, these homes are unattainable.😯😯😯
Each home was super special but the most creative and unique one had to be the :Star Trek" house. The mosaic in the pool was a distraction from the cool architecture though.
Good morning Lydia Loved this episode so much. I live in Northamptonshire too. Please can you recommend who made your dressing groom blinds? I'd be so grateful xxx
I have watched this many times at this point, or had it playing behind me, & every time one thing .... catches me.....is it "catched" or "caught"? I definitely thought it was caught. She says both. Obviously my grammar could be better, still, id like to know.
These glass box tree houses in the woods are death traps for birds. They need to use the bird deterrent window films that are invisible to the eye. Some architects just don’t get it….
The guy from de NY townhouse... He should return his pottery collection to the countries where it was possibly stolen. Art made with bills is in very very bad taste.
Why spend millions and short shrift the personal living spaces? Forcing your children to pile up in one room is either inconsiderate or aimed for a sell to a smaller family. Addendum: A vanity house is difficult to sell-- a pink kitchen...
The NY apartment was a commercial for the owner's art, all his money art! Not much about the apartment except for where his art is located. Turned me off completely!
I so wanted to like that Alaskan house, but the homeowner... I couldn't get thru a minute of that hyper-energy and voice after such a soothing opening commentary. So I muted it. The home is lovely.
Based on your comment, I was expecting some ultra hyper person but she wasn’t even bad at all. Pretty normal to me 🤷🏻♂️ and yes, lovely home. That view of the water is unbeatable
That’s rude and immature. I’m from the Midwest. She sounds like my kind of person. I think you should learn to be nicer though. I think you should grow up a little also. It’s not cool to deliberately hurt someone even if it’s not true.
Only Restauration interests me. Using Wealth to Create immense habitats is not how I see the future for the inequality of humans living. The system is Wrong. My Hope is that 'Bright Mind Sets ' are going to change what the Extremist Are Doing.Hope in YOUTH.
Youth are a reflection of their elders. I know as I have worked with youth for three decades. Have hope that we all contribute to co-creating a world that is aligned with the planet and communities of care.

I think for me I'd choose the Tree House as my favorite. Thanks to everyone that showed their homes!
The "tree house" is extraordinary!
I love the Alaskan Waterfront house. I live in a bungalow with huge patio doors that close to the sea in Wales, and I swim all year round. You have included wonderful elements in this beautiful home which make it feel like part of the landscape.

@ 28:36 "I appreciate this is definitely a First World castle problem." 😃
The tree house and her story touched me...

I remember the mini castle, and the video about it's restoration. Gorgeous.

Absolutely beautiful. Love the triangle shape and high concrete walls.
The SOHO artist guy - the house is basically a shrine to himself 🤣
A museum to himself. That wasn’t a home
What a beautiful clutch of homes..so much to be inspired by..life time dreams fulfilled thru imagination and empathic architects..thankyou for sharing these amazing locations..❤
the summer camp home is stunningly beautiful!!
Wow! This woman knows exactly what she's doing. So many ideas to steal. I'll be watching this over and over. Great job! ❤
The first home is stunning.

Exactly. Here in the San Francisco Bay area 2-3 million gets you a dump three bedroom ranch home with asbestos ceilings on a 1,500 square feet lot. 💅🏽

Live, love, love the Scottish castle
90percent is a lot
Sort of makes this all just that more authentic and real.

The Alaskan house was sublime.

My favorites are the Greek triangle house and the Texas museum house. 💗
The whole lot are stunning!
Man I just want to buy a regular house and I'm almost 40. I'm worried I'm gonna end up in a trailer park at this point.
I ordered this exact mount a couple days ago after discovering it from that fitness TH-camr video review on it. Now the algo brings me here to the mount’s designer creator. Amazing! Can’t wait to receive the Mount and use it. Keep up the work, subscribed!
Utterly Beautiful
i love the pink kitchen
52:13 great acoustics
Absolutely beautiful....
Amusing that a single person with a 3000 ft GLASS house thinks she's being green by using bamboo flooring and putting up a couple of solar panels.
Despues del castillo me enamore de casa triangular rodiada de olivos. Saludos

Alaska house very nice
Thankyou and God bless 💖⭐💖⭐🙏
The castle from grand designs tv show show
Good morning Lydia
Loved this episode so much. I live in Northamptonshire too. Please can you recommend who made your dressing groom blinds? I'd be so grateful xxx

Was the ammonite castle featured on grand designs???
People talking about the Alaska home owner she great and smart too with great energy
Whenever I fantasize about having a mansion, I automatically think about how secure it would be during a zombie apocalypse 😵💫
Wow great sheds… 🥱
Nice❤❤❤
Loved the hat. Toda 🇮🇱
*The so-called Dinton Mini-Castle is not a "castle" but a folly.*
The Star Trek house has a theater room with no Star Trek posters 🤔🤷🏽♀️
I wonder how that yurt house was able to be built. It is so close to Colorado River and in its floodplain. Did they raise the site?
The second to last woman sounds Trinidadian. Me a Trini, I'm also considering Hudson, NY to live.
These glass box tree houses in the woods are death traps for birds. They need to use the bird deterrent window films that are invisible to the eye. Some architects just don’t get it….
And yet the owner believes she is "green".
53:00, this home is not "minimalist". It is a quite complex, and detailed home. The owner clearly does not understand minimalism.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The man with the money art is ridiculous 😭. To have so much money you use it as origami flies. I can't.
❤❤❤
The pink is hideous on the one in Alaska
Can anyone make out the name of the guy at 31:57? He sounds like he's saying Washer Becker or Walter Becker.
👏
The star trek home is absolutely horrendous
i disagree.
I agree 💯. It's hideous.
Are bookshelves outdated now?
Bookshelves are never outdated in France.
There, it seems everyone reads, and they hang on to cherished works.
I see large bookshelves and immediately think, old boomer with large ego who doesn't know what the internet or a library is.
Jajajajajaja aver si sale gasolina de las pompas, muy cierto. Si no pues a utilizar la gasolinera para una quermes!!
i wonder what happened to her dog or dogs , did they die or were they sent to a shelter when she was sent to the care home
The mini castle! That is such a shame, they should have just built on to it to expand instead of sell.
hi , whats the profession of the lady? and how much is the land and such house?( the first one).XXX yurt inspired colardo home
That house with all this Africa look like horror movie
Stark Trek house was definitely not s home. Looked more like a office building
The Star Trek home seems cold, impersonal, and sterile, outside of the kids area. Very high tech though.
To think the native people in Alaska once had full access to this island and now….
That first house is worth 270000 lo please its a tree house
Alaska house's pink made me nauseous. FF.
Joe is doing a good what😂😂😂
I did not think it was legal to use money for artwork.
You actually live on the BC coast. That location was obtaianned by fraud by the US and belongs properly to Canada's West Coast.
😂 and Canada obtained it by fraud and belongs properly to Native peoples.

The guy from de NY townhouse... He should return his pottery collection to the countries where it was possibly stolen. Art made with bills is in very very bad taste.
‘No straight lines in nature’…………..
To each his own….that place looks like a tomb! 😂😂😂
I think all got wow factor architecture element except money house bcoz totally out of topic home and design
Don’t lie to me

Her voice was just ok, nothing wrong with it
Yeah I liked her she was fun and passionate. Her glasses were cool. The house is beautiful
@31:57 the house with all the money on the wall just gives corny and ghetto. 🤷♀️
concrete floors will cause her legs & feet to show her veins sooner than normal. Pink house shoes wont help. Need good walking tennis shoes.

Couldn't live with that Alaskan voice. Ten minutes tops.
I don’t think she likes you anyway! 😅
So many uninspiring McMansions in one video.
P
Glorified MTV Cribs.
For the Stark Trek home, 10 million DOLLARS!!!! What of waste of money, for this minimalistic bullshithome.
The show is just disgusting
