    What is the difference between restriction rule and scoping rules?

    Hey Mike, I have a quick question. If some records are made visible to certain individuals/users through the lateral or the manual sharing rules, do these records then become automatically accessible based on role hierarchy as well?
    for example, lets say, the marketing dept wants to share some confidential data with some support engineer, and they do it with the sharing rules (lateral sharing) or with Manual sharing (such as Teams access), then does this data get reflected to the support team manager by hierarchy?

    Can’t find restriction rule option in task object

      I am not sure why it wouldn't be available. According to the online help, it is supposed to be available for Tasks.

    there is no restriction rules link on my version?

      Are you not finding it in Setup? Perhaps you have a user account that doesn't have access to them? If you have a full admin account it should be there for you. The only other things I can think of is if your instance is still on an older release, which I don't think would be the case, or if you are on a different license type or Salesforce instance.

      I guess you are trying on a standard object which as mentioned in help article dosnt have restriction rules. It is only applicable for custom objects

    • @getholicviraj
      @getholicviraj ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pragyamehrotra2473 go to the objects that are applicable for restriction rules - custom objects/tasks/events/contracts. You will find it there.
