Trying to get this cert while working full-time! There are times I wish I didn’t work so I could study. But you’re right, after 2-3 hours I find myself spacing out. Due to your courses and Mike Wheeler Media, I’ve learned so much about the platform. Thanks for the inspiration!
I left my job recently, not to pursue this cert but for other reasons and it just happened that i felt that the admin is a natural fit for my skills, I am also older (50s) so I have enough savings to do this without feeling pressured. As you mentioned, studying 8-12 hours per day is just not realistic. I set realistic goals for hands on each day (at least 6 days a week) and I am watching videos or actively doing hands on for probably 6 hours a day, beyond that additional learning is not realistic. If I am feeling highly motivated beyond that I feel like going back and repeating a hands on badge or whatever really helps the idea to sink in by repetition. IDK how many hours it will take to consider myself ready. I am taking a udemy/mwm course for the admin, doing trailhead and as I get closer to the end will likely take a focus on force class to prep before the cert test itself. As I progress I also will need to involve myself in more branding activities, linked in, trailhead community, etc. I am really glad I don't have a job right now so I can get past this novice level, but I just had a 2nd interview last week and am still awaiting either a job offer or a rejection. I am ok with either outcome, but my point is that once I get past this newbie phase I expect that doing this while holding down a ft job will be manageable. Not easy or fun, but doable. But at this newbie level, it's nice to have nothing else to focus on. To be perfectly honest I'd rather not have a job right now, but with the impending recession, I do feel some pressure to have a seat before the music stops.
Hi Mike, I have enrolled for your admin course today. Do you think will I be able to land an entry level job, without prior work experience and a career gap? ( once I pass the certification)Thanks
Yes you can! You can also make your own experience. Be sure to check out my free Career Launch Action Plan course here careerlaunchactionplan.com for help with how to do that.

Having a job is the best way to learn - earn to learn. It would give you more time on platform and real-world scenarios.
