so strange to see a video of that game in 2025. Played a couple of Civ iterations including the original but New Dawn + Expansion is my favourite. It plays so quickly and has so much variability and replay value.
Just looked it up, 1980 (so kinda both 70s and 80s 😆). The one that inspired Sid Meier himself but doesn't have much in common with the PC game or New Dawn. Tragic how the PC game overtook the original, so the new Civ board games in some way took the original design's place and extinguished it.
