I love the Geoff giggles!! Here's a way to know when you are about to get blown off your chair. Watch his right hand. If he is using his hands, which is most of the time, his right hand will be turned facing the ground, then he will flip the hand over, cup it, and drop it. When he does that, he is going down to the basement. That gesture should come with a warning label! Watching him do Misty Mountains, for those of us who have been watching for several years, it was weird to see him NOT moving his hands. This one was the first one that he did outdoors, and he got razzed a lot about his hair blowing in the wind. In his most recent, Man of Constant Sorrow, the four Geoffs are leaning on that same fence, on the other side, and are doing most of the singing, with solo Geoff somewhere else. You will see that his hand gestures are usually the same, no matter which Geoff is singing. He is so much fun to watch. I love this song because in the summer of 1971. When this was released. At 17 years old I met, fell in love, and married my husband. The harmonies are all Geoff. Geoff is a whole 43 years old.

I came back to re-watch. Geoff started singing professionally right after high school as well, in 1997. He and Layne are the only founding members remaining of their original acapella group. The name was changed to Voiceplay around 2010 or 2012.

I grew up singing this song with my mother as she played the 12 string guitar. Hearing another generation enjoying it makes me smile. At school I was the odd kid who knew these songs along with Cat Stevens. Unless the kids had older brothers, sisters or cousins they had no clue. Now my children know all these songs thanks to Geoff then looked up the urinals on their own. I am glad you enjoy them as well.

You would love his tutorials on his channel as he is so humble and down to earth and surprisingly considered himself a baritone that could sing low notes. His voice has definitely deepened after 40 but he still has a beautiful high range.

I think you'd find the Voiceplay cover of Still Alive pretty fun (yes, from Portal). The cover is nearly 7 years old now, and Geoff doesn't have anything like the vocal attention he gets in current videos, but you get to watch him do some goofy stuff in the background and that's pretty nifty. If nothing else, it's a fun cover and it lets you appreciate more how far the group has come along in their arrangements.
I am not a video gamer, but I’d be tempted to get a console and buy this game just because this is such a great video. Another reactor kind of explained a lot of the inside jokes which made it even more appealing because it’s not just funny but it’s clever and that’s a weak point for me. I hope he reacts to it because it is so underrated and I suspect he would enjoy it so much.

While his compatriots from VoicePlay sometimes help out with the technical side of Geoff's videos, all of the singing and instrumental work is done by Geoff. He uses a variety of plug-ins for most of the musical accompaniment, but he is an accomplished pianist, and he put out a TH-cam short a couple of days ago showing how he used a plug-in for the guitar part in his latest solo video.
Make sure to check out Geoff's other solo work like Till Then (a cover of the Mill's Bros. 1941 tune) and Shenandoah (a classic American tune)...all amazing!

I love your reactions- thanks! Yes, Geoff does all the harmonies and has an amazing 5 octave voice range. You would love his tutorials on his channel as he is so humble and down to earth and surprisingly considered himself a baritone that could sing low notes. His voice has definitely deepened after 40 but he still has a beautiful high range.
Oh I think you can say Geoff is a gamer. He and Voiceplay covered the Halo Theme, they've been playing it as a band for about 20 years now. ( See the outro in the vid) They also covered The Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim. I just love the joy in your reactions.
Love your reactions! You get Geoff and Voiceplay. They perform because they love to perform. They have joy in their hearts and impart it to the listener. VP stands out a little apart from Home Free and PTX (both good) because they do it all themselves without label and all the entourage. They are artists and you get it! Sunshine and smiles, to you.

I think you'd find the Voiceplay cover of Still Alive pretty fun (yes, from Portal). The cover is nearly 7 years old now, and Geoff doesn't have anything like the vocal attention he gets in current videos, but you get to watch him do some goofy stuff in the background and that's pretty nifty. If nothing else, it's a fun cover and it lets you appreciate more how far the group has come along in their arrangements.
I am not a video gamer, but I’d be tempted to get a console and buy this game just because this is such a great video. Another reactor kind of explained a lot of the inside jokes which made it even more appealing because it’s not just funny but it’s clever and that’s a weak point for me. I hope he reacts to it because it is so underrated and I suspect he would enjoy it so much.

Voiceplays latest. Valhalla Calling, is the theme song from Assassins Creed, Valhalla. Yes, they are BIG gamers. John Denver, who wrote and popularized this song didn't have a bass note in his repertoire, that I know of

While his compatriots from VoicePlay sometimes help out with the technical side of Geoff's videos, all of the singing and instrumental work is done by Geoff. He uses a variety of plug-ins for most of the musical accompaniment, but he is an accomplished pianist, and he put out a TH-cam short a couple of days ago showing how he used a plug-in for the guitar part in his latest solo video.
