Not quite day-care since I'm in the UK, but as a young kid, I was prone to nose bleeds. Every few days at the slowest of times. I confused the crap out of my teacher once when 4 year old me got a nose bleed, and while the teacher was trying to calm me down, all I said was something to the effect of 'I just need some tissue, I'll sit over by the sink until it calms down." It was so routine to me that I didn't panic at all. My eldest niece, nearly 20 years later though? She's got herself into a Becca level incident, also at the age of 4. She bit another student, then to try and save herself, BARRICADED THE DOOR to the room she was in so that the teacher couldn't get to her. It failed, and she got sent home for a day or two as punishment. Still not sure whether to be angry it happened, or impressed at the lengths she went to to avoid trouble.
I used to work with a little girl who would injure other kids on purpose (biting, punching, kicking, throwing rocks) then bring them over to me, tell me they were hurt and play the hero. We could never catch her in the act. She stopped when one of the kids snapped one day and bit her back. I asked her teacher why she was crying and she just muttered 'she got taught a lesson.'
The delivery of "I got a stick!" absolutely KILLS me every single time. Not once have I watched this video without spamming 10-sec rewind to watch that one specific line at least five times.
Can confirm that cutting your own hair is a universal childhood experience. When I was about 4, I accidentally put a piece of gum I was chewing in my hair. I knew that scissors were used to cut hair because my dad is a hairdresser, so I took a pair and cut off the hair with the gum. My mom found out what I did moments later and got understandably concerned, but I didn't actually cut that much hair off, so my hair still looked decent enough that she didn't have to cut more of it off to salvage it.
my mother got her hair cut and I wanted to look pretty like my mommy so 10 or so unattended minuets later my mother was horrified... 2 hours later I had a pixie cut
I work at a Daycare, and being able to come home and tell my family about stories like these from the teacher's perspective is the highlight of my day. Taking care of young children is SO FUNNY (and stressful, but worth it). The little devils are the worst in the moment, but they give you the funniest stories! One of the kids I worked with once tore his shirt off (yes, TORE it) and started running around, chasing other 3-year-olds (who were screaming in terror) around the class while beating his chest and shouting like a gorilla. Chaos in the moment, but absolutely hilarious thinking back on it.
As someone who is deathly allergic to peanuts, I feel your sisters pain. Being excluded from activities that included peanuts just so you could die happened to me all the time. These days, It's more common that Daycares and Schools are peanut-free if there's kids with allergies. But back in the day it was always "like it or lump it or die"
I love that when they put her in the big kid area with her sister, aka, "The Super Stars", Becca put the star back on the door to her sister's room, and yet it was a new drawing, not a re-used one. The little details she remembers on consistency when nobody would notice if she just put a plain old door... I love it. Also... "I got a stick." Is ultimate kid logic.
My sister is the same way with peanuts. They literally had to call hazmat to clean out her biology lab because the previous professor abruptly changed from burning marshmallows to burning peanuts for an experiment
I cut my own hair in preschool once. I was 3yrs old I think. According to the incident report (as my mother recalls it) it happened because I was left COMPLETELY UNSUPERVISED AND ALONE with those safety scissors at that craft table. No other children were sitting at this table with me, so I had no one to stop me tell me that maybe this wasn't a good idea. Becca's teacher looked away, but my teacher and her TEACHER'S AID walked away. Like lady, you had an assistant helping you in your classroom, and neither one of you were paying attention. I'm a toddler here, I don't understand why you shouldn't cut your own hair. I just understand that scissors are sharp and they cut things! Love from Houston!
I'll do you one better. I set my hair on _fire_ once. I forgot how old I was, but it was at my dad's house in AZ (I would go to see my dad in the summer). I went into his room for some reason (can't remember what it was) and saw a thin, credit card shaped white cigarette lighter. I held it up to my face like an idiot and lit it. My bangs went up like a well-oiled rag that was also soaked in gasoline. Thankfully the fire didn't last long, it was just a FOOMPH and then it was gone. But yeah, that's where I learned that human hair makes a great fire starter.
@@theduchessofspring2395 Thankfully I didn't get hurt, or anything. Scared the living shit out of me, though, let me tell ya. And I had a burnt edge where my bangs used to be, as well as a distinct smell of 'burnt hair' for a little while. Can't remember how much trouble I got into for that, but I'm sure it was a lot. I'm also sure my dad was laughing his _ASS_ off on the inside.
As a teacher I find that the daycare staff were pretty reckless during that Peanut Butter activity. If there is a child who is THAT allergic to peanuts, you shouldn’t have it in the daycare at all. Let alone in the same room as the child. Your sister was very lucky.
I do agree as I have worked in Childcare both with school age and younger and nut products are banned. My guess is that this service didn’t have a policy that bans nut products and was most likely during a time (90’s and earlier) where nut allergies were not as common. But I do agree that the staff were reckless.
I worked in daycare and we made sure everyone and their mother knew if a child had a severe allergy, my guess is the girls went to daycare in the 90s, when allergies probably were not taken as seriously as they should of been, I mean I'm glad they moved Rachel away from the other kiddos, but now a days, PB wouldn't even be allowed in the building if a child was that allergic!
Hooray! The Witch of the Woods has returned! And she's here to entertain us all with more amazing daycare stories. Oh and steal our toes, but mostly the story part.
1:54 Yep, and I found something that was neither when I was 4 or 5. I proudly beought it in to show my mother. She and her friend were have tea and chatting when i came bounding in (not unlike one of our dogs) and said, "Mom! Look what I found!" Mom...was not impressed and told me to "take that dirty bone back outside." So, I dutifully did and set about correcting what i identified as the main source of the lack of enthusiasm; I washed it with the hose outside and brought it back in. That was when I learned that presentation was everything. I had a much better reception for the arrowhead i had dug up in the backyard once my mom could tell what it was. 😂
Daycare Stories 2 is yet another masterpiece from Rebecca! The way she narrates her childhood experiences with such humor and wit is truly captivating. I can't help but reminisce about my own daycare days and the crazy things we used to do as kids. The animation, as always, is top-notch and adds so much depth to the storytelling. Keep up the fantastic work, Rebecca! Your videos never fail to brighten my day and bring back fond memories of my own childhood shenanigans.
The sudden and extreme bits were the cherries on top of an already immensely entertaining video. I was wheezing on the ground for 5 minutes after seeing what happened when dad dropped you off.
A fascinating thing about watching videos while you’re sick, you could stumble upon a gem like this. I may have sadly not exactly been in daycare, but I do know I was in preschool and kindergarten. There is one thing that my mother and father said to me, that when I was a little baby, one of my parents were placing around bottles of shampoo or something around me. And do you wanna know what my autistic brain did in that moment? Well, my baby self managed to somehow organize the bottles by how they looked, little did I know that I seemed to have a bit of a thing with organizing. Isn’t that neat?
I'd have opened each and every bottle and made a huge mess 😭 I was always too smart for my own good (adhd brain craves stimulation lol), so I was usually climbing things, opening stuff I shouldn't be able to open (downed a bottle of children's benadryl once) and in general getting into things if not being watched 🙃 either that or I was plotting my next wayyyy too intricate and crafty plan to harass and trick my little brother💀
I would’ve chugged it so fast. No hesitation. When I was 1 I opened a baby lock on a cupboard with my mouth and ate a washing machine tablet. I’ve had good breath ever since.
@@luvshak42 no, ares wouldn't have armor I don't think, or a chest piece, only girls in ancient Greece (besides Hermes) had a thing covering their chest. Then again that's probably wrong 💀
Rebecca pushing kids down who just STARTED walking is the funniest and most outta pocket thing I’ve heard💀😂 Really great video! I’m glad a sequel was made and hope there’s even more stories to be told!
6:17 Nah I feel ya. Both my dad and my older sister have celiac disease. And if kid me was dragged away from an activity that involved shaping and eating bread or something I would've been upset too cause I hardly got to have wheat since we didn't keep it in the house. It was nice that they made sure your sister wasn't alone though and that's really nice that they gave you some peanut butter at the end ^^
Rebecca, I can say without a doubt, working out that you can cut your own hair is a universal childhood milestone. I cut off my entire ponytail when I was 3. I was at home, fortunately.
I actually had to go to basically a secondary daycare after my main one let out for the day because my mom would still be working. It was held in a church and they probably thought I was some demon child 'cause every day we went there I would burst into tears and hide in the plastic castle and refuse to move until my mom picked us up. I vaguely remember coming out ONCE and the kids looked at me like I grew a second head. I stopped crying but I still refused to leave the plastic castle. 😂
Huh. Sounds like something I would do. Only even now my inner child is telling me I’d be in there purely because I was a dragon and that was where I needed to be and God himself help you for trying to remove me from my nest.
I'm amazed they did the peanut butter craft with your sister anywhere nearby. There's no way they'd get all the kids' fingers/clothes/hair, etc. and the surfaces clean enough to be safe for someone that allergic. I give my kids ONE marshmallow, and I'm finding sticky finger prints all over the house... heck, I find sticky finger prints without any marshmallows... 😂
Everytime rebecca posts it feels like a gift. I have watched her since i was like 15 and now i am 20. Her videos always feel like home and i always watch them when i need to calm down. I adore how expressive her style is and her personality, voice and stories. Long story short i dont have words to express how i enjoy her videos💖
As someone who works in Daycare I loved these stories. Thats pretty much the same kind of shenanigans kids get up too even today lol. Once had a kid shove a whole ball up his nose at naptime (it was a small foam ball ment for kids too put down tubes, kinda like a marble run) we had to call his grandma to take him too the doctor. Good times!
As someone else who is deathly allergic to peanuts I'm annoyed they even did that when they knew there was a kid with a diagnosed peanut allergy! Especially an airborne one. That was on the daycare honestly
I too have a deathly nut allergy. It goes as far to being avoiding mangoes because they’re in the same family as cashews and we can’t take chances. It isn’t an airborne allergy though. However, if I eat it or it enters my body through a wound or opening in my face, I will need an epi-pen to survive. I’m also allergic to eggs, soy, and bananas, so almost every vegan item, baked goods, and a lot of grain is off the chart. It’s so difficult to eat out.
I work at a daycare that has a very strict no-nut policy because some of our kiddos have peanut allergies (this policy included any foods that even might have been cross-contaminated with nuts such as store-bought cupcakes - rule of thumb is unless the label specifically says nut free we should consider it a potential allergen), and I was led to believe that this was universal policy for most academic and childcare settings. Even having peanut butter in the room could have been a huge risk to Rachel's life, especially since her allergy was airborne (even being in the same room and breathing "contaminated" air set her off). Tl Dr that was a really big oversight on the part of the daycare that would not fly nowadays.
@@kylajensen1957 You'd be surprised about how ignorant schools are towards peanut allergies even nowadays. In my high school art class I was forced to do a still life of peanuts, and when I insisted I couldn't the art teacher took points off for me referencing an image I found online instead. That's not a universal thing though, I think that art teacher was just bad :( (Also I love your icon, ibuprofeN is amazing)
Ah yes, the digging ill tell you this, I went to a daycare after school and when playing with my friends and kids news spread these kids had dug so far they found planted dinosaur bones in the sand it felt like a prehistoric moment
I'm not sure why, but I like the way adult Rebecca was drawn in this, her hair and outfit look very "comfy", or something along that line. I'm guessing this was intended since she's at drinking tea in the evening, something of which would be considered relaxing. Very nice and subtle design for you in the video!🫖

It's fun to see how this channel has evolved from a story about a murderer teacher to daycare stories. And the animation is phenomenal keep up the good work Becca.
Here’s a story from when I was in Daycare: So there were these kids in my group who would bully this one girl who was autistic, she was my friend and she was super sweet so I hated to see her bullied, of course the teachers were all about the making up with your bullies thing so I decided to take matters into my own hands , I made little air dry clay dolls of both the bullies and covered them in red paint to look like they were dead then I put them in the bullies cubbie with a note that said in my best little kid handwriting “ Bully my friend again and this is what you will look like “ and I had to get counseling for that 💀
I’m not sure if this only happened in my school, or if it happened all over the country, (I’m an Aussie) but when I was 6 a bunch of kids at my school decided to try and “dig all the way to the centre of the earth” in the sandpit during recess. Eventually, after weeks of digging and finding nothing substantial, the operation sort of transformed into creating a some weird mini society in the sand. They would pour water in the sand to make rivers, place little pieces of wood over the gaps to make bridges, sculpt buildings out of sand, all while still attempting to dig to the centre of the earth. I remember thinking that the brown water in the sand was chocolate milk, even if it tasted nothing like it. And all the diggers celebrated thinking they’d made a chocolate river. Man, those were good times.
That was so worth the long wait and perfect for my first new episode since I found this channel. Thank you Cinema Therapy for introducing me to this magic.
I remember one time, I some how coughed when I was eating, so hard that a piece of fried egg got logged in my nose. The weird part is that I breathe strong enough for the egg to slide back down my mouth and chew and swallow it.
As a British I can tell you that what the heck you Americans call smarties are the opposite and can not beat the real chocolate thing. My mum used to keep a tube in her bag for me and my brothers when we where younger. They even cured scrapes with just one and we would stop crying immediately. 😅 great job one another wonderful video Rebecca ❤
If Americans think Smarties are the ultimate "loser" candy they should try Parma-violets - like Smarties except they're all violet flavoured. As in the flower.
You know, Rebecca’s main oc of herself is pretty creative for a mouthless TH-cam cartoon character, and also she deserves more subscribers and likes and views for her videos👍🏻
"Hey Becca, I got a Smartie stuck up my nose and can't get it out!" "...I've got a stick!" This gave me flashbacks to working in a daycare, kids would get themselves into the craziest situations, and half the time I was the one who had to help the out of said situation! 😂😂😂
This makes me feel better about some of my daycare nightmares. Thank you for this long awaited sequel. Will always be here for your stories and storytelling style. I’d love a witch Becca doll. But, again, you don’t ship to Australia, so I’m going to sit here and pout like Kid Becca in time out.
my favorite memory about daycare. My sister and I went to a daycare called Sunshine Daycare, one day one of the teachers named Phil (who had a great Donald Duck impression by the way) started freaking out in the middle of playtime, grabbed a fire extinguisher and ran outside. Turns out he happened to glance out the large playroom window at just the right time to see a Simi truck at the strip sign with its undercarriage completely on fire and the driver hadn't noticed. So he grabbed the fire extinguisher, ran outside, got the drivers attention and put out the fire. We all cheered. Phil was a hero!
Ah yes, the universal hair cutting story. I was about four, and decided to do it, there was no rhyme or reason, was just sitting in the lounge room and was like "I wanna cut my hair." I knew it was wrong, so I remember stuffing the hair underneath the arm chair, thinking I was getting away with murder. Then my mum came in, saw my hair, and just nonchalantly guided me to the full body mirror that was in her bathroom. As soon as I saw the state that my hair was in, I immediately burst into tears, huge wracking sobs. I had to get a pixie cut lmao.
I was too 4 when I cut my own bangs as a kid (I had somehow cut bangs at 4 years old!) needless to say I had that haircut until I was about 5 and a half and then the bangs were long enough to be pushed back…

I was in kindergarten and a girl dared me to do it. Said goodbye to my bangs that day.
I cut my baby sister's bangs.
my mother got her hair cut and I wanted to look pretty like my mommy so 10 or so unattended minuets later my mother was horrified... 2 hours later I had a pixie cut
yeeepp my mum still has the lock of hair i cut off...when i was 5...i'm now 28...
I deadass cut my hair off so many times
I work at a Daycare, and being able to come home and tell my family about stories like these from the teacher's perspective is the highlight of my day. Taking care of young children is SO FUNNY (and stressful, but worth it).
The little devils are the worst in the moment, but they give you the funniest stories! One of the kids I worked with once tore his shirt off (yes, TORE it) and started running around, chasing other 3-year-olds (who were screaming in terror) around the class while beating his chest and shouting like a gorilla. Chaos in the moment, but absolutely hilarious thinking back on it.
I was looking for the comment made most recently, congrats I guess lol

As someone who is deathly allergic to peanuts, I feel your sisters pain. Being excluded from activities that included peanuts just so you could die happened to me all the time. These days, It's more common that Daycares and Schools are peanut-free if there's kids with allergies. But back in the day it was always "like it or lump it or die"
Peanuts are just banned in general because of the POSSIBILITY of someone being allergic, even if none of the kids currently there are.
I understand and relate so much! 😭
@@MeemahSN yeah and it seems silly, but better safe than sorry, right?

But I do agree that the staff were reckless.
i dont work at a daycare or with children or anything and even I think that's insane. Same with having jar of peanut butter in the house
Ya no that’s what I was thinking too, why was she in the same room???
My thought EXACTLY. omg that made me so mad! I would have come unglued on that daycare as a parent. Wth
I would love an animated series just about you and your sisters childhood shenanigans 😂

1:54 Yep, and I found something that was neither when I was 4 or 5. I proudly beought it in to show my mother. She and her friend were have tea and chatting when i came bounding in (not unlike one of our dogs) and said, "Mom! Look what I found!"
Mom...was not impressed and told me to "take that dirty bone back outside."
So, I dutifully did and set about correcting what i identified as the main source of the lack of enthusiasm; I washed it with the hose outside and brought it back in.

Good times!

i will never get over how smooth this animation is
As someone else who is deathly allergic to peanuts I'm annoyed they even did that when they knew there was a kid with a diagnosed peanut allergy!
It’s so difficult to eat out.
mangoes are related to cashews???
Yes, surprisingly
That's not a universal thing though, I think that art teacher was just bad :(

Man, those were good times.

my favorite memory about daycare.
