just an important point: when Butcher said "you're strong", Ryan said "he's stronger", not something like "yeah, but I don't want kill him". If Grace hadn't pushed him so hard, they would have had a chance to convince him to stand up to Homelander, he literally said he will coming back, he was just asking to be let go to think about it.
