      Gave mine a little more preload on the rear to put a little more weight on the front.head shake gone even at 102 mph.oh and all the way on compression and about five clicks off from max on rebound all around too.those two things eliminated the head shake and it was bad before.im 5'9 165 lbs if that matters.thanks for posting, been getting all the info I can about big bore kit before I do it.

    • @guitarhawaii
      @guitarhawaii  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The heads are all the same, the 'E' model has stronger valve springs and slightly more aggressive cams. If you run the 'E' base gasket you'll need to run premium fuel because of the higher compression ratio 12.2 : 1

    • @guitarhawaii
      @guitarhawaii  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I did the hotcams first, and noticed a little more power in the higher revs. The BBK made a much bigger difference. Better torque throughout the rev range and a lot more fun to ride in general. Totally worth it if you can do it yourself. If you have to pay someone it might be a bit pricey and may be better to just get something like a Husky SM610 or a KTM 690 SMC.

    nice!, so you think i should go for stage 2 cams over the stage 1? i have all the same mods (mrd ssw pipe instead) except cams and stroker ( i wont dare to do stroker because of reliability issues) xD

    • @guitarhawaii
      @guitarhawaii  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From everything I read the Stage 2 cams are better for street riding where you want more power at higher rpm's. The Stage 1 are better for dirt where you need more low end torque. I did the cams first, then the big bore and I just installed the MRD pipe too (definitely added a few more bhp over the yoshi rs-2). The cams with the bbk make a big difference, the motor still goes at higher speeds. I thought about the stroker too, but I'd rather get a different bike than tear down the engine again.

  • @antoniofranklyn5923
    @antoniofranklyn5923 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i got a question was it harder to start after you put in the stage 2 cams?

    • @guitarhawaii
      @guitarhawaii  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it starts right up, never had an issue. The exhaust cam still has the auto decompression like the stock cam though, so I think that helps. I've heard of other cams not having that which makes it a bit harder. I also did the "free power mod" basically routing the regulator/rectifier directly to the battery which gives the bike a little more juice.

      @@NormanSalazar-pi4do Stage 1 for more off-road riding, Stage 2 for more road riding. AFAIK stage 1 gives more low-end torque and stage 2 gives more top end. You could just get some E-cams, that are similar to stage 1. Any cams you use shouldn't affect durability. Have fun!
