    Thank you!
I have researched so many little cado videos/doccuments. FINALLY someone said what I was guessing based on my research. The tree flowers feb/mar and the fruit stays on the tree for a yearish before it's ripe. Every site/video says flowers feb/mar ripe may-aug. But never specifically said may-aug of the FOLLOWING year. I was getting worried that I was letting them sit on the tree for too long. Had my first flowers set last year (4 large fruit). I am so anxious to harvest and enjoy the fruits of my labor-pun intended.
Thank you again for all of the information you provide!

Okay, so last year I got a cabbage sized avocado from a Asian grocery. I put the rather large seed into a glass jar with tooth picks. It was a wide mouth jar abd the seed nearly filled it. I set it in the windowsill and after several weeks of nothing happening, I forgot about it. No water nothing.
Several weeks later, it's 5 degrees outside, and I notice that the Avacado has sprouted with about a two and a half foot stemannd it's growing toward the crack in the window where the upper so I slipped. Leaves were growing, happy with the cold. Having no place to plant it. It stayed in that jar, just being watered every once in awhile, until about 3 weeks ago when I finally got a pot for it and some soil. Two days ago, I noticed something strange growing out if the top... I think it's blooming.
I think I have a cold loving, one year blooming avocado!

This is what I love most about my TH-cam channel. Crazy stories like this. That sort of defies all the laws that I know of to bloom that early. So now you’ll have to take a picture of it and email it to me or else I’ll be sitting on the edge of my seat forever. Thanks! gary@goldengatepalms.com

I have no space. How do you feel about have this in a 25 gallon container?

Hey there Gary. I watch your videos all the time! How does Gordo taste? If I recall, that is the very large avocado variety from Richmond. My Gem and Kona Sharwil that I purchased from you last year are doing very well. Keep up the great work!

I'm in So. Cal., near Disneyland, inland from by about 18 miles. I'm also going to get a Gem and Sharwil this year. How big is yours and do you have any pictures? Why did you choose those two varieties? How far from each other are you planting them? What do you expect the shape to be?

I’ve learned that sharwil and GEM for that matter are both very tasty so that figured in my decision to buy. I actually have about 17 different varieties that I will be putting in the ground next spring. I have mounds of dirt spaced out about ten feet from one another. A two foot layer of wood chips spread out over the entire growing area. I don’t have pictures to share at the moment but I can say both trees are now 3-4 feet tall not including the container. The Gem was purchased in a sleeve and sharwill in a five gallon container. Both are in a squat 24 inch box.

If I leave my little cado in a grow bag, do I have to change the soil every year? I live in central Texas

That would make for an extremely unhappy Cado

Just picked a Littlecado up from HD and I'm debating putting it in the ground or a 25/30 gal grow bag for a while.

I would keep it in a container and wait till early spring to plant. That way it’s more established for the cold winter.
