This device has 2 operation modes. The mode selection is based on the jumper placement. Jumper pin 1 & pin 2 -> programming mode. As you well described. Jumper pin 2 & pin 3 -> serial TTL mode. We can directly connect pin TXD, RXD, and pin GND (3 wires) to a serial port of another device.
Even though you posted this several years ago, it is still a huge help to us who are having troubles with BIOS (in my case, on a LattePanda Alpha - the flash to the new BIOS went badly and I bricked the device). My biggest issue was getting the menu system in my CH341A in English - and YOU solved it!! Many thanks - was pulling my hair out. cheers

when I did my video on bios chip replacement I could not find videos like yours and my main rig was down with a corrupted bios. thanks so much for your efforts
Oh this is great! Thanks to this video, it just happened that i bought that programmer today and looking for some info., and i found your video. It really helps a lot. Indeed. Thank you

Very thorough and I definitely had a few of these problems so thank you! with your video and one other that I needed for my specific chip I was able to accomplish my task and I'm a first time user of anything like this. Thank you thank you thank you!
ACE! Very thorough. Thank you for your custom folder (your 1st link in the description):it saves time and has everything we need, besides the BIOS file which depends on the card being flashed. A1 vid.
Thank you for your detailed explanation. Helped me recover my motherboard without going to rma or some stuff. EFI issues kept it from booting. vielen dank.
1. Position of the Tab: It is written on the circuit board. 1-2 for programming and 2-3 for TTL. Unfortunately written in Chinese 2. The Up or Down connection: It is also shown in the circuit board. Top is for 25 and down is for 24. For most bios, it is 25 chip and one must select 25 SPI Flash in the software.
Thanks for the video. I don't have this programmer (yet). Nor have I downloaded the software yet. But there is one thing that seems obvious to me, just from watching your video... Problem #2, Wrong Chip Placement in Socket Depicted in the First Version of the Software (that you used)... @ 10:46 - The type (in the first software) is set to "24 EEPROM". @ 14:00 - The bottom of the programmer shows the upper bank = "BIOS 25 SPI", and the lower bank = "EEPROM 24 I2C". @ 16:32 - The type (in the second software) is set to "25 SPI FLASH". I would bet you 25 cents that both software versions will properly show (in the lower-left graphic) the correct orientation and placement of the chip, if the correct chip type is chosen. I could be wrong about that, but I doubt it. Once I get the device, I'll test that. I plan to use this device on HT24LC32 chips (which can also be written to by the end device). It's obvious to me that 24 series EEPROMS would use that lower bank, that was incorrect for your 25 series BIOS chip. Still, a very helpful video, after I jumped to about the ten minute mark. Pins 1 & 2 was it? LOL (Sorry, I couldn't help myself)
I now have the device and have tested my "pre-ownership" theory... mostly. The video never really tells exactly what the first software was, you know, the one that you abandoned. However, I did download and test the version of the software that you provided the link to (thank you for that). My original theory was proven correct in the second software version (the one that you ended up using). When the type is toggled between "24 EEPROM" and "25 SPI FLASH", the graphical representation in the lower-left does indeed show the correct orientation and placement of the chip for each type. It's hard to believe how little $$$ you can get these devices for. Mine was around 6 bucks. And your links to the files made it easy. I just used the file that pre-installs the driver, the file that installs the main software... and it just all worked. I installed on a Win XP 32 bit laptop. Works like a charm. Thank you for putting it all together and providing the links.
