Try some SolarFlux on the backside of the hard to back welds. It’s a powder that you mix with Methanol to make a paste. Protects the backside and it was cheaper than purge or having the sugaring rot out because the chromium is burned out.
Awesome video mate! Churchy sure knows his stuff! the methods and the science behind it! was a little sad we didn't get to hear the dual stains running though ;( next time!!
Love you the work you have put into it mate enjoyed this video especially t the way you guys explain the job details of this particular project beautifully done
If you pick up a cheap 3 in 1 plasma/tig/stick unit that only does DC tig you can do aluminium With helium instead of argon but it will be a deeper structural weld not as parity but will do the job
So much info and not enough time, cut alot of info and unfortunately forgot to leave in cup/electrodes 🤦♂️ Tig is such an in depth subject that it is very hard to sumise off the cuff

Great lesson from church here about welding how ever if I where you Sam I wouldn't be putting up videos with a confederate flag in the background, not a good look.
Hey buddy, the problem you have with the airflow .... i will bet on it - is that snorkel design with the swirler is costing a lot of pressure drop at high flows, the pressure loss of a swirling/spinning up flow increases losses really alot (it follows a or on factor x quadratic law) - if it is 4inch dia. and you have no sharp bends, then it should be fine without any swirler. Go ask the supplier if they have actually flow tested it at the engine flows you are running, if you tell me the Dyno power and the AFR then we can work that one out. It might look cool, but unless you are actually driving across a river, a snorkel is at best a useless thing and like yours where an aerodynmics engineer has not designed it, then it is just a stupid penalty just another aftermarket money con. I am 20 years working as an engine flow simulation engineer, and it is incredible how these design flaws still make it thru where no effort is taken to either do proper simulation or proper testing. My guess is that at some moderate anticipated airflow teh swirl might have been considered to help, but the behaviour runs away at higher flows. If you are running a diesel engine it must breath about +50% more air for the same power as a gasoline, perhaps the supplier got their calculations messed up or test flow wrong. Generally Swirl is a Loss feature and you pay for the penalty if it serves some particular purpose, e.g. centrifuging particles in a cleaner/separator.
I have an edger which I do on the path ways but had to edge with the snip around the deck because I have river stone around the edge so gimme a break 😂
11:56 my whole attitude towards you guys dropped as soon as I saw that confederate flag (white supremacy). Hope that flag isn’t up just because you blokes believe in that white supremacy shit because that shit just isn’t cool.
It represents heritage not hate. It was a gift from friends in the South. I do not support white supremacy and the assumption that that's all the flag represents is in-correct.
@@Churchys_adventures it may not be "all the flag stands for" but when it's flown next to the nazi flag by the kkk and has been used by almost every single pro segregation group since the Jim Crow era in the us as their flag, you should see why most Americans think this flag is a symbol of hate. I'm not necessarily one of them but your defense of flying this flag on your wall could be used with the nazi flags. They do represent more than just white supremacy, and thinking so is incorrect.... Ps I am aware how old these comments are. I do know I'm insane for wasting my time commenting on one this old.
For someone that knows zero on welding, churchy nailed it in a very easy to listen manner
10/10 video. Churchy knows his stuff
great video, appreciate the run through with your mate on his welding and the detail of explanation
I find your videos way more entertaining than any other 4wd shows 👍
Same
This welder needs his own channel , explains everything so well
Whens churchy's rig rundown coming!
thanks Churchy for the in depth welding tips, when I need any SS welding I'll bring it to you.
he did a really nice job on it !!!
A confederate flag and a bob marley picture in the same shed is rare the fact it’s an Australian shed makes it even rarer
Well done Sam keep doing what you are doing
I absolutely agree you need to have ATDC to do welding, well said
Nice job Churchy!👌
Top episode guys.. Really well done
Churchy needs his own channel for sure
3:30 looked like you were gonna use the cardboard box as the air box😂🤭
Yaas
Great video guys especially when it comes to the tig settings, keep up the great content 👍
That welder knows his stuff.
Great vid Sam and Churchy, thanks.
I use inch wide strips of copper plate, glowed soft to use for backing odd shapes.
Crackn vid mate... really enjoyed the detail in this one... cheers
Excellent explanation on the tig Churchy 👌👍
Another great vid lads, will be sad to see you leave WA 😥👍
Well done boys . You both work well together. Keep the vids coming 👌💪

Easily the most helpful and useful video you have made....apart from the built not bought conversion eps. Keep this stuff coming mate love it
Good trade tips in this, take notes people!
Very professional boys
Great episode Sam I learnt heaps about welding to thanks to Churchy. Pretty keen to hear the intake noise with both snorkels going.
Awesome video mate! Churchy sure knows his stuff! the methods and the science behind it! was a little sad we didn't get to hear the dual stains running though ;( next time!!

@@speyles I've cone to an agreement with my self when I obtain my self a new ute I'll have you design my snorkel and air box lol
Let's go new episode
I didn't realise that people from WA actually have a slight twang in their accent compared to Victorians! how strange
Thanks for sharing!! Curious about having your snorkel tubes facing rearward, do you have concerns of a venturi effect taking place?
Good work fella's
Difficult choice between the types of air filters, like K&N and stock paper type
Churchy needs a TH-cam Chanel👌
sickkkk built i must say
This Chanel converted me into a 4wd loved
Awesome content
Luv the greta sticker.

Where’s the best/cheapest place I could get a nice snorkel
Great Vid I use too love TIG welding S/S. Good info . Did Churchy mention the differince between electrodes?
So much info and not enough time, cut alot of info and unfortunately forgot to leave in cup/electrodes 🤦♂️ Tig is such an in depth subject that it is very hard to sumise off the cuff
Should of purged the pipe to prevent sugaring
Purge is for paying customers 😂
CAD cardboard aided design
Where’s the HQ Build at mate? 💯 loved that video
Churchy as a guy from the south in the States I'm happy to see the Rebel flag.
What is the best snorkel for performance?
How do you find the belts? As I'm trying to find one that won't squeal on start up. Thank.
When are you doing a rig rundown on the Mega 6x6??
Churchy need his own channel
Heard some livin 4x4 intro music in there
So the ally does the same as solar flux?
Can I ask what welder he is using ?
Damn !! I’m impressed mate 😎 does he do home/cash jobs , exhaust ?
Says first thing first - cuts to ad break
When is the comp truck coming back
Does anybody have the video of snorkel one going in?
How has churchy mounted his power tools to the wall?
Pity about the horrid flex tube
Is churchy a boiler maker??
I love this shit!
This video is farking awesome . 👍
Shoulda taped up the holes and taped a lid on it to purge it no?
Does look wicked tho
What pulse frequency was churchy using i got myself a tig and find it hard to get the pulse set uo right

When is the test to show the difference? 😊
Don't go into NSW with the pod filter.Big no no
Hey sam are you gonna be coming to the Melbourne national 4x4 show this year?
Sam Eyles mint 👌👌
Pretty much!
Great lesson from church here about welding how ever if I where you Sam I wouldn't be putting up videos with a confederate flag in the background, not a good look.

Liked it

Tell churchy to give up the snipper. Snipps like a bloody muppet. Glad he doesnt TIG like he snipps 🤣🤣🤣

Why don't you do the job properly, give it one snorkel per cylinder and call it the Octopus?
