As a testament for how great these clubs are, i still have my 845 1 iron. I use it in place of my driving iron on really windy days. Because its a cavity back 1 iron, the shot is literally just a stinger, and also a major fairway finder. Probably the most forgiving CB 1 iron I've ever used, which is why I still keep it. The center of gravoty and perimeter weighting on it is as good as any modern day iron. Truly an amazing club

@lawbinson I looked it up, cuz I really want one now. I found a Wilson Staff 0 iron & a Xxio 0 driving iron on ebay. But that's all I could find. The Xxio is the same loft as my 1 iron but the W/S is 14°, which is insane!!

@@kevinvassago I’ve been looking for that Wilson 0 iron for forever. I can’t find it on ebay. Did you buy it ?

I have a set 3-P of the TA 845S re-issued 2002-03 polished and with a ferrule, great set of irons, you can't go wrong them. Thanks for another vintage offering. Geoff.

I still play my custom 855s. I can't find a set I like more. Spent about an hour getting fitted.inch longer shaft, extra stiff, 4 degree upright lie. Bought Woods and Iros., they gave me a staff bag. I still play them ans love them.

The best cast clubs 845/855 ever made.

I had the 845s and loved them. You could beat the crap out of them, and they never fail.

The best golfer I ever played with used some TA 845 irons. I always love these videos. Ty

If they have been using them for decades I can imagine they'd be pretty good with them

I'm super impressed by 845 wedges. Still play it time to time.

I liked the sand wedge a lot. I wasn't all too impressed with the lob wedge. It was probably the most forgiving lob wedge I've ever hit, but it was at the expense for shot control. That was my experience atleast

The symbol is a Center of Gravity symbol for engineering drawings

Found a set of 245s like I used to play in the early 90s, 2-SW for like $120. Regripped them and they hit so good.

My first clubs were knockoffs of these ! I told my neighbor I was going to try to learn Golf and he went into the garage and pulled these out and just said they were mine.
I wish i could remember the name, I feel like it was also "Tommy"

I get what you’re saying about ugly 90’s irons, but don’t overlook MacGregor irons of that period such as VIP CB92 and CB95, and they of course ended the the 90’s with the PCB and PCB Tour. Genuinely beautiful cavity back irons.

I read that the symbol is for the increased offset irons. There are standard 845s and 855s that do not have that symbol.

Oh, if this is right then the center of gravity thing is wrong... One day I'll be sure

Played 855s for a few years back in the 90’s, great clubs. Too bad TA kind of went downhill shortly after that.

These puppies were 1 to 2 clubs longer than anything on the market at the time

I have a set of both the 845s & 855s ...supposedly the 855s are larger - I guess so, kinda sorta. If memory serves, the 845s was a response to the Hogan '88/9 Edge forged (which was the Hogan team's response to the Ping Eye2)///
I gotta disagree w/you about the '90s Hogan "uglies" - maybe they offended the sight of lookers, but players loved them....even you did, when you did that video on the Hogan Magnum (or was it the Magnum Plus). In that, you went from "UGLY!" to "WOW! this plays great, like a Hogan"
