Great how to video! A tip I'd add is when you close the top clasp from behind, while holding the door shut, be careful not to catch the skin at the base of your fingers or the webbing between them in the door. Not only will that stress the plastic and prevent closure, it hurts!

whenever i open my protective housing for my hero 10 i hear this loud crackling/scraping noise. Is this normal? Maybe it's in the recording but yours opens more "clean".
Yes Sasha it's normal, when I opened the case for the first time it made the same sound but after couple of times I tried and it came out neatly. Try again and if it's still making the same sound please do message me the exact part in my video which is of your concern and I'll get back to you with a solution. Thank you.

Yeah it kinda seems broken, mine took an excessive amount of force to open and i thought the mechanism was broken. It feels like one side is stuck down and then it makes a horrible noise and pops open

Yes you may use the same cover, it's compatible I guess.
Would this protect the lens from impact or falls?
To an extent, YES it will dwindling protect. My gopro have fallen from quite good height and thank God I had the case on and nothing happened to ma gopro including the lens.
My screen is cracked I’m a GoPro subscriber and just to exchange it is 99 US dollars. Would you recommend the protection case or will the be too much pressure and crack it more? Great video.
It should not increase the crack just because you put the case but at the same time it is not going to help you from protecting your instrument from moisture.

How deep can you safely dive when using the skeleton backdoor?
It isn't recommended to use in water. Use the fully enclosed waterproof case in water. The skeleton door is for accessing the touchscreen and better audio. I would also think that it would slightly help regulate temperature as well.
Does this case make the unit get hot sooner? Mine gets hot without the case and I’m wondering if this will make it worse.
Yes definitely, with this case the camera gets heated up a lot faster but using it underwater which is why it's actually made then it won't or even in rain it won't get heated

put my new hero 8 in the casing but the shutter button is not working. Have tempered glass on the back lcd and front lens. But the case button dont touch the gopro shutter button, the power on is working great. Cannot make picure or start camera. Do you have a solution?
Sorry buddy but I guess this cover is not compatible with hero 8 it only works with hero 9 and 10

Yes you can. One thing worth noting is when you mount it with something like the chest mount, you cannot pitch the gopro all the way back if it is in the housing
This housing will not work with tempered glass screen protectors. Won't close properly.
No dear, you got to use it with the product directly without any other accessories except the defogger.
Really? Have you tried it? I was planning to install tempered glass on my go pro. But I will be using it mostly for travel and water activities so I bought a protective housing. Is installing a tempered glass necessary for the screen?

Hi, I got the cover from best buy- ordered it and got delivered. Yes it should fit gopro 8 as well... I don't see any reason why not d the dimensions of both the products are the same. @@abhidenzmarine Nice! Thanks. PS. Hate the newly designed Gopros. Took forever to figure out how to open the battery compartment. I had to go on TH-cam in the end. Also hate the back screen display lay out too. I think my Gopro 8 will be my last 😒 Just visited Best Buy. Seems they don't sell stuff outside of the USA. I live in the UK.

@@abhidenzmarine Yes I looked on Amazon. I bought a waterproof housing, thinking a skeleton back door would be included. It wasn't. I want to put my Gopro8 in a protective case because I like attaching my camera to my bikes handlebars when I go bike riding. But without the protective case the camera could get badly scratched up if I come off. The look of the new Gopros I like, but the rest of the design I hate 😒
