    My last insta-buddy in Cozumel would also recommend you to pair up with an experienced diver. I spotted his go pro floating away a bit after his giant stride entry 😂. Floating handle definitely saved him there and I hope he got some cool shots! I was trying my best to point out anything I could and even illuminate small jelly’s for him to get some footage of.

      @CircleHScuba  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, see the floating handle is great! I think pairing with a diver is a great tip overall if you’re able to do it.
      This summer I am likely going to be recovering a lot of GoPros and such as well 🤣

    Thanks for this informative video.
    Does the waterproof case interfere with the clarity of the pics and videos? It seems like putting another piece of glass in front of the original glass may affect it.
    My kids just bought a GoPro 12 Black for me as an early Father’s Day gift. I don’t plan on going deeper than 30’ for a long time; probably a couple years. I’m considering g getting the case just to protect it. Even though it’s waterproof. Salt water is rough on just about everything.

    • @CircleHScuba
      @CircleHScuba  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d get the case. Luckily it doesn’t really affect things. I make sure to wipe the inside and out and the lens of the GoPro too when I’m putting it in, just to make sure there’s no smudges or dust/lint that will block part of the lens

    👍😎🇵🇭🤿! I have an Olympus TG6 I have not used yet underwater. I know I need a waterproof case and although I know very little about any kind of photography I would really like to try. Can you recommend how to setup and accessories I may need. It will be a little bit expensive and a slow start but I hope a proper start in the right direction. The TG6 was recommended as a good starting point and I was told many continue to use this camera. Also what is your thoughts on the TG6😎.

    • @CircleHScuba
      @CircleHScuba  ปีที่แล้ว

      The TG6 is a great camera!! Nice! I will definitely agree that cases (housing) and accessories can start to get expensive for underwater photos and videos, but it is definitely a great camera and you’ll really like it as you start using it more to have more practice!
      Backscatter is my favorite place to shop for underwater camera gear. They sell a lot of housings for the TG6:
      www.backscatter.com/underwater-housing/Olympus-TG~6?affiliate=U2FsdGVkX18HAQIDBAUCCae3medHDvgBygo+9nV5Gew=
      Olympus makes its own housing that I’m sure is great, but I know people LOVE nauticam housings, they’re just so expensive!
      With the Olympus housing, you’ll have better protection of the camera underwater and can thread on 52mm lenses.
      If you want to do macro, you don’t need a lens with the TG6 technically and that’s one of the reasons why people love the camera, it does great at focusing on macro and you get focus peaking to keep things sharp as you adjust your settings if you’re in manual mode.
      If you wanna shoot wide angle, I’d suggest the Backscatter M52 120 degree wide angle. It’s a wet lens so you can take it on and off underwater if needed and gives a very nice wide angle shot so your subject can take full frame of up close, or you just get those great landscape type of shots of a wreck or reef.

      If you want to do both macro and wide and not swap lenses, I’d recommend the Backscatter M52 Wide Air lens. It’s 81 degrees, so less wide angle, but you can keep it on, zoom in, and still do macro shots.
      www.backscatter.com/Backscatter-M52-Wide-Angle-Air-Lens?affiliate=U2FsdGVkX18HAQIDBAUCCae3medHDvgBygo+9nV5Gew=
      Then finally, you’d wanna get a tray so you can mount lights too at some point. I’d recommend the Backscatter tray as that’s the only one I’ve used (check for others if you like), with their macro-wide lights (my next upgrade). Here’s a link to the bundle to save some money, but you can buy them individually:

      I hope that helps Joseph!

    hi there, I'm planning to buy Go Pro 12 black for my next snorkelling and diving trip. I see a lot of reviews about getting the lights. Do I really need to get the lights? I don't see you recommending it here even just for Go Pro 11. Thanks.

    • @CircleHScuba
      @CircleHScuba  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For snorkeling, lights can be helpful but I wouldn’t say they’re as necessary. If you dive down holding your breath and go deeper than maybe 10 feet, or 3m, I’d consider lights too. But otherwise it’s usually shallow enough that lights aren’t 100% needed

    I broke 2 GoPros, they say it's waterproof but it's not true, it often happens that water gets in if you don't have a case. do you think Floaty helps also in preventing water from entering the battery door?

    • @CircleHScuba
      @CircleHScuba  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You need a case still regardless

    Can I use the head mount

    • @CircleHScuba
      @CircleHScuba  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The head mount for scuba diving isn’t great. It’ll slip off your head. Snorkeling I assume would be similar. Also you move your head WAY more than you realize and the footage often has so much motion people get sick watching it. I don’t recommend that

      @@CircleHScuba your underwater footage, do you use a light underwater?

    • @CircleHScuba
      @CircleHScuba  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @monica-5466 oh it depends. Often yes, but sometimes I don’t depending on how deep I am and conditions. If I’m snorkeling, usually no lights because I’m not going very deep
