Have a wonderful time off. Looking forward to whatever you have to offer while you're away. PS...I noticed the new microphone right away! Usually I need to turn the volume way up. I didn't this time!!
Thank you so much. I am so pleased the sound is better as well. :)
Your juniper jumper is beautiful and and can’t wait to see the fluffy one (sorry can’t remember the name lol ) you are going to knit.
Enjoy your holiday ❤
Thank you so much Carol. x
Your Jupiter Crop is perfection! Love it so much! Can’t wait to see your Instant Crush 🩷🤍🩶 I didn’t know I needed one until I saw it in-person on my friend Pam. Fabulous job on the Skillshare partnership 👏🏼 👏🏼.
I giggle when I heard these famous last words “I’m not going to be designing patterns” . I could see you doing it! You have a wealth of knowledge and the math skills to boot. 🤔
Thank you so much Leanne. x
On your skimmer socks, have you thought about doing the Elizabeth Zimmerman sewn bind off? I think I learned it from a short tutorial from Very Pink Knits and you can control the tightness of the bind off by pulling the yarn a bit tighter. I am a toe up sock knitter (or at least that's what I prefer), and I've used that bind off several times on my cuffs; it has a neat look to it.
Your Jupiter jumper is gorgeous! all of your knitting 😍
Thank you so much x
Hi Tash, your Jupiter Crop looks fabulous! I adore colourwork and become SO bored when I’ve finished a gorgeous yoke and then the body is just plain knitting with one colour so I’m going to attempt an all over colourwork next.
Really appreciate your explanation of short rows. 😃
I’m knitting a couple of my ‘Where is the Green Sheep?’ beanies for friends who have a new baby. I love knitting them, they make me smile the whole time. (I also love eating the Peppermint Crisp afterwards!🤣)
Have a great holiday! 🥰
Thank you so much Susie. That is great you love colourwork that much. Definitely go for an all over colourwork pattern then. There are so many beautiful ones out there. Looking forward to seeing what you choose. :)
Two slip over suggestions from my favourites; Edgar slip over and Holiday Slipover. The splits could easily be lengthened. I love the side detail on the Edgar Slipover. Relax and rejuvenate.
Thank you so much for the recommendations Jennifer. :)
The Juniper Crop is finished and looks great on you. The pants you made are a unique style that looks good. The cream coloured Knit seems fiddly but that is the pattern. Enjoy the trip to Bali as well as the knitting. Take care ❤😊
Thank you so much Rosemary. Take care of yourself. Hope you are feeling ok after your fall. X
Have a wonderful holiday!! I'm curious if that Megan is Andrea Mowry's tech editor. I seem to recall that she's a Megan. All the best. BTW, Morris and Sons is now carrying Cardiff Cashmere.
Thank you so much Rhonda. That would be really interesting if it was the same Meaghan... Thanks for letting me know Morris and Sons are carrying the Cardiff Cashmere. I like to shop locally but the price is double what i paid at Needles & Wool. Having said that, If i need some in a hurry and just want a ball or two, t is good to know i could source it locally. :)
Would Love to see what you’re planning to pack for projects! Thanks! Have a Great trip… relax and enjoy!
Thank you so much Mary. x
Thanks as always for a great video.. The "Amy Slipover" (Sandes Design) has a very similar body to the open vest with ties you are after. It just has a high rolled or round neckline but there are a couple of makes in Ravelry that have changed to a V neck :) Have a great holiday.
Thank you so much - and thank you for the recommendation for the slipover. I will go take a look. :)
This is such a beautiful sweater!! I am very interested in learning more about how you knit while walking. How you hold your work, etc. Have you covered this somewhere already?
Thank you so much. I have talked about it but havent done a video on it. My son has promised to come on a walk with me and do a video for me. That should be coming soon. I might even be able to do one while in Bali so i can pick up some nice scenery. :)
Hello Trish! Thanks for all the amazing videos! I found some Slipover: Ciril Slipover from Ankestrick; Lulu Slipover from Petiteknit; Nizza Slipover from Stricks&Fit. Have a nice holiday in Bali. Doris
Thank you so much for the suggestions Doris. I will check them out. X
Have a wonderful holiday! Your Jupiter Crop turned out lovely! I made the Seaglass Hat because I wanted to practice some color work. However, I only used 4 colors of yarn, so I just carried them up as I went. It's really cute, even with just 4 colors.
Thank you so much Carrie. Thank you for sharing that you just used the 4 colours which meant you could carry them up the inside - that is a really good idea!
Thanks for sharing all of your lovely projects with us Tash. 🧶. Have a a wonderful holiday in Bali 🌴. 🙋🏼🏴
Thanks so much! x
Sirdar 10538. Has a round neck but otherwise ‘tabard’ style. Have fun in Bali!
Thank you so much Shelley. :)
I love your channel! I found a slipover with ties on both sides from sandnes garn, called Helle slipover. I'm finishing it up now.
Thank you so much - and thank you for the recommendation for the slipover. :)
Thanks for sharing info and links about short rows. So interesting. I was surprise by the short rows in the back and then also in the front the first time I knit the Ranunculus - and I really like that fit for my broad shoulders.
I’m eager to see how your Crush goes - lovely colors.
Have a nice vacation.
Thank you so much Brandi. x
I would love to see what you pack!!! I pack like a crazy woman just going on an overnight trip my husband always says “what the heck do you have in here!!!!” He doesn’t understand😂 and 2 knitting projects too….what can I say I am a hopeless case. LOVE The colours for the instant crush. Looks like beautiful yarn. Have a great vacation take lots of pics to show us.
Thank you so much Michelle. I am definitely an over-packer. I didnt get a chance to video what i packed before i left but I can always do a little video here to show what made the cut. I was not ruthless at all. I always take stuff with the “just-in-case” mindset pretty well locked into my brain… ;)
Hi Tash! I would love to see what knits you pack. I’m sure there are some lovely friends from the vault amongst them.😊 Have a wonderful holiday!☀️
Thank you so much Elizabeth. x
LOVE your podcast 8 always learn so much. I appreciate all your details and tips.
Thank you so much Elaine. :)
Have a great time in Bali. 😊
I had been knitting my Jupiter Tee prior to our summer here in Washington state. I have just the body ribbing to finish as it is an early fall here. Your thought of extending the brown pattern looks just right. Thanks so much. Caryl
Thank you so much Caryl. Hope you are happy with your Jupiter when you finish it. :)
I like the pietra pants by closet core really comfortable
On holiday in Egypt I was knitting the peacock tee in kfo silk held double. Have a lovely holiday ❤
Thank you so much Suzanne. And thank you for the pattern recommendations. x
Ha ha, love it when you said, just learn to do the Kitchener stitch🤣🤣have a wonderful holiday, thanks so much for your super fun and informative podcasts, kind regards 🙏🥰
Thank you so much Zillah. x
Love the Joji shawl you are knitting. Wondering if you worry about your interchangeable needles rusting when they get wet during blocking?
Thank you so much Lidija. I've never had that happen with my needles. I usually keep the needles themselves out of the water, though. Just the project and the cable in the water. And the project is usually only in the water for about 30 mins. :)
Regarding your cotton that is heavy, I find they make really nice placemats - just a thought
Thanks so much for the suggestion. I think that could be quite nice as a weaving project. :)
I have never been very drawn to the look of brioche, but that hat is adorable. I might have to add Harlow to my queue!
You seem very definite that you will never design patterns, and I wonder why? With your math skills, and your deep knowledge of knitting, I would think you’d be a terrific designer.
Thank you so much. That is a lovely thing to say. I just know i only have so many hours in the day and so much energy. I think it is perhaps i would rather put my time and energy elsewhere - at least in the immediate to short term. :)
Better take your cotton cloths to knit, mindless and cool. You'll probably finish a pile of them.
Thank you Amy. I have yarn for two and some socks but i am also getting to knit on some garments which is nice. :)
In Alberta for me a spring sweater cannot be a T-shirt style as I need arm coverage for the weather. A colour work tee would be very warm in the body and cool on the arms for me. I knit the Seaglass sweater and could not countenance changing the colour every round. I followed people on Instagram for a few months and sussed out a lot of problems that way. The magic knot did not seem the way to go. I went with a variegated yarn as the main colour throughout, and I changed the CC every second round. I wove in the ends as I went. It still looks very Seaglassy.
We do have to think about the wearability of anything we make. No point making something beautiful that you never wear because it just isnt functional. That is a great tip about the Seaglass sweater. You can get the look without the hassle. Thanks for sharing. :)
Hi Tash, the Primrose slipover by Along avec anna has side splits with ties. Its in my queue . 😊
Thank you so much for that recommendation Suzy. :)
“Front Hump” is my pet peeve in the garments. I have purchased some ready made garments and I was never wearing them when the “hump was forming” in the front lol. Sometimes it comes up after you wear a sweater for a bit. I noticed that especially turtlenecks and colour work sweaters are prone to it. And that makes me think that there is not enough increases btw narrow turtleneck part or shoulder part increases in colour-work rather than short row shaping. I don’t have wide shoulders in proportions to my rib cage frame and I am small busted, but my shoulders are quite straight. And the colour-work yoke is not as elastic as a one colour knitwear, and sometimes when you look at finished garment, it has kind of cone shape and that does not corresponds to more straight or wider shoulders. I would love to have more insight why is it happening. My other pet peeve is distorted stripes (they look like they are pulling up) around necklines in the striped knitted garments. But that is whole other story. I love your podcast.
Thank you so much. The hump thing is something that I also steer clear of if i see it in patterns. It can often get disguised in the official photos but you start to see it in people’s projects. I agree, some necklines are definitely more prone to it. I’d like to compare some patterns with that kind neckline where some of them seem to get the hump and some dont and investigate what is different in the patterns - the number of short rows, the placement. It cant just be knitting the “wrong size” as it seems to be particular to the pattern. If it was people knitting too small a size, that is going to happen in a range of patterns and not just occur in some and not in others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your kind words about the podcast. X
the Amy slipover by Sandes Design has open sides and although it has a high neck I am sure you could play around with the patten and alter that
Thank you so much for the recommendation. :)
I just adore your colours for the instant crush, can’t wait to see that one working up! Have a great trip 😊
Thanks so much Ruthie! 😊
Funny about the short rows. I cringe with them and need to look up how to do them each time. I am old school. I manage them but I feel much more comfortable with the old knitting patterns doing it in pieces. I know many knitters dislike these patterns as the sewing up is a hassle for them. I do think the top down sweaters are so over rated knitters seem to love the fact that you can them on, but I find it a constant hassle putting the needles on & off the cords to try them on. I have always found the bottom up piece patterns fit fine. Have a relaxing and fun holiday get yourself recharged for term 4!
Thank you so much Jenny. I think sometimes seaming can be daunting if you havent done it before or dont feel confident. It is a good skill to have though. I dont mind seaming in general but i dont enjoy setting in sleeves. And i do find it hard to judge sleeve length. I do enjoy knitting a pattern as written though. But i am glad to be able to make little tweaks like that so that i can make the knitting experience more enjoyable for me. And with less anxiety about length and also running out of yarn… :)
Have a great holiday! Thanks again for great content❤
Thank you so much Deb. x

Have a great time in Bali!
Thank you so much Hilda. I hope to. :)
Have fun in Bali!
Thank you so much Toni. x
I use cord stoppers I found on Amazon. They come in different colors and sizes. I find them cheaper than the ones on stores like “Twice Sheared …” when they are packaged as specialized items for knitting. In addition, I use silicone beads as stoppers for my small needles which are also quite a bit cheaper. You could even share these things with a friend since they tend to come in larger packages. Just an idea for those who want to save a little money.
Thank you so much for sharing that. I am all for saving money and buying in bulk and sharing. :)
Thanks Tash. Have fun in Bali. I'd be interested in seeing what knitting you pack.
Thank you so much Lisa. x
Have a lovely holiday Tash! Would love to see what knits you're taking to work on. If it were me I wouldn't take anything that if my luggage got lost the yarn was not replaceable, etc.
I saw a podcast by Espace Tricot a few months ago where they announced their patterns were slowly being moved over from free to paid, some had already been done ... So I madly downloaded the ones I felt I really wanted lol 🌺 Susannah
Thanks so much Susannah. I know i will put as much in my carry on as possible... Thank you for the info on Espace Tricot patterns moving to paid. I am glad i downloaded these. Even if they need altering, they are a nice starting point. :)
Your Jupiter Crop is absolutely beautiful 🩷🧶 amazing episode 🩵
Thank you so much x
Hope you have a wonderful well-deserved vacation in Bali! Thanks for the show.
Thank you so much. x
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you for the work you put into them!
