    Yeowwww pretty guitar ❤️
    Sometime around 1965 I used to go down Marrazza on St. Catherine Street, stand in front of the window and dream of that beautiful sunburst Fender in the window trying to burn every detail of it into my brain.
    Nice to see this Dave thanks man.

    Hi Dave. I am a Patron once again and will remain one until Patreon starts double charging me double again. I have a sticker but I don’t know where to put it. I have a Penny Black CD and love it.
    I too have back problems and I understand the pain. Actually I was born a cripple and have gone through over 35 surgeries. I’m a bi-lateral below knee amputee (thank you for supporting war-amps even though my amputations weren’t war related - I was born with bad cards) I have a bad hip (total hip replacement x 2) and spina bifada. God I sound like such an effing winer. Love your videos. Please keep posting. I’ll keep watching.

    Hope your back gets better soon Dave. Mine never will because it's arthritic. I don't want drugs so I have to live with it.

    Youth is Nature's grace. When you've lasted long enough, that grace is exhausted. Hit the gym! You can get some of that youthful feeling back--but you need regular, 3 times a week, for an hour, of elevated heart rate (~125, for us oldsters) and weight resistance (cardio won't cut it). The biochemical changes wrought by a good workout last up to 48 hours, after which you'll feel blah--until you work out. The body responds to physical challenge by developing vigor...it's really cool...

    Back problems suck man,
    1 year and a couple of day ago I had back surgery, had a hernia in the lower back.
    Nerves that run to my right leg got pitched, Couldn't sit down.
    And when I did the pain would build up so high that I needed to stand up right away, and I mean hardcore pain.
    The weird thing is before the surgery I had pain in my leg and after the surgery the pain in my back pain started and the leg pain reduced a bit.
    Due to everything that is going on in the world my rehabilitation treatment got delayed by 3 months, but happy to finally make some progress and finding a way to cope with this shit.
    Get well soon man!!!

    I bought a new Telecaster a few months back and I noticed also that the saddles were angled. Strange. Maybe Fender is just trying to mess with us or something.

    Sorry about your back sometimes PT is worse than the affliction! I have a question on the beef stew mac diamond fret crowning tool. Is the medium the one to buy if on a limited budget? I only have 1 guitar with jumbo frets and it's in good shape.Take care and hopefully soon the back will be healed and just a memory.

    The reason is says made in Corna, CA is because California recently change the rules. Now items made in California have to have an extremely high percentage have to be made in the USA and that includes raw materials like the trees for the wood is grown. That's why they had to say made in corona California. Any company that makes stuff in California has to do it. I believe even some company's not based in California did it too because I think California even said you can't sell something in their state unless it follows those rules. Fender actually still. Ales quite a bit of their hardware and other materials for the guitars here in the USA. Don't believe me go look up the replacement parts for the USA made guitars. If you look at the back of the package it tells you where that replacement part was made.

    So, I have 4 bulging discs in my lumbar section from degenerative disc disease, 2 of which are compressing nerves... They say surgery won't help with pain, so I'm "managing" pain... Anyway, just wanted to tell you to go buy some epsom salt and soak in it daily. Hot as you can stand it. In my endless search for pain relief, very little has surprised me with its power as much as epsom salt. Good luck!

    I have an odd situation with my strat, I hope you can identify.. When I tune the thick E string and play the first fret, it's almost a F#.. It's only occurring on that one string, the other ones are fine.. What could be wrong with it? 🤔

  • @colinscott147
    @colinscott147 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Dave, have set up my Strat as per your various “tubes”. The thick E string contacts the fretboard wood (laurel) after the nut but before the tuner peg. The 5mm fall off to the headstock. I’ve noted your dislike of similar at the bridge for Gibson set ups so although I cannot notice any detriment I assume some. To be clear I’ve not made a massive break angle, I’ve only 3 wraps as per your instruction, 2 pegs length after peg, turning down.
    Is this a problem. If so how to correct: less wraps, turn up, file the offending wood.
    Any advice please.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @xdmkii
      @xdmkii 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you installed a set of staggered height tuners in an incorrect order.

    • @colinscott147
      @colinscott147 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xdmkii nope all same length/type. Think wood extends too far without a sufficient drop off to the headstock.

    Before the plandemic.... I had cash in my pocket and planed on carrying a new Fender telecaster elite out of guitar center......
    The man got the latter went to the highest row To put that to $2000 guitar in my hands... The fret ends were so sharp I literally cut my finger..... I have never been turned off faster kept the money in my pocket and went home
