In more ways than one. Mega man 2 is the reason the series took off if you and so many other people didn’t buy or play the game. The mega man franchise wouldn’t be the gigantic series it is now. He may not have even made it to smash. And you also got to beat the crap out of Dr. Wily and help Mega man complete his mission.
It just perfectly fits the setting and the point of the game. Seeing Mega Man running under an open blue sky toward the entrance of Wily's fortress having defeated all the robot masters.
