"Elegy" was the first album I ever heard from Amorphis way back when. Despite the fact I unfortunately couldn't connect with much else they ever did prior to it or after I do love this album and felt it was next level shit. So much that I actually consider it one of the best Metal albums ever recorded. For this albums existence alone they will always have my respect as a quality talent. \mm/

Kim Rantala. That wall of organ sound is massive and strongly complements TomiK and Esa. A Far From the Sun remake with Kim would be godly with his jazzy, improv style

Kim Rantala on keyboards? didn't he leave in 1998 or so? this video was shot in 2010 correct? Isn't that Niclas that wiki shows as the current or was this some reunion because Pasi is there too? I don't know much about this band, haven't seen them since 1994 live when they opened for Entombed in the USA. I have a few of their older CDs, I need to get caught up
It was a special gig (Magic and Mayhem-Tales From the Thousands Lakes tour) because they celebrated their 20th anniversary so Koskinen and Rantala were invited to play couple songs with them :D

I simply don't understand why Tomi Koivusaari didn't sing the growl part. It's really a pity that he doesn't sing anymore, in my opinion is THE GROWL. Tomi J. is nothing in comparison. A good singer, but certainly more ordinary.
Tomi K his growl isnt that powerfull compared to Tomi J's I have seen a couple of shows where Tomi K did backing vocals and he almost couldn't be heard.
@@dennisvanopstal7360 I think he said in an interview that he completely blew his voice during Karelian Isthmus and Tales era. Even on Elegy, his vocals sound much weaker than on the previous records.
There's an interview around 2000ish where he says he kind of fell out with growling, then another in 2015 where he says he stopped because the whole band felt they couldn't develop anymore using that style of vocals, but then, he says he doesn't feel that way any more.
